Disrespectful, disrespectful, disrespectful. I will NEVER use them even though I am getting ready to do a major renovation myself. The company and their subcontractors have absolutely no regards for the neighbors. The lot they are building on is huge with plenty of room for all the workers vehicles. Instead, they line the main road with all their vehicles blocking my mailbox so I can not receive mail. And they completely block they view of the main drag with cars coming in at 60 mph so we gave a tough time exiting our road. I ask politely not to block the road, the response from the worker in the Lane Builders truck is they can and will park there. This happens day after day. There are drivers with infants who are at risk of getting rear ended trying to enter the main road. They don’t care. It escalates to the state police bring called by multiple people on 4 occasions. They are told by the police that they are not allowed to park there as they severely block the view of the road and causing a hazard. They move their vehicles and the next day they do it again and again and again. What kind of contractor has that little concern of the neighbors and that little concern of safety of others. And now I am missing mail. You need to wonder what substandard work are they hiding behind the walls

We just bought a home built by Lane Builders, and while we weren't involved in every aspect of the building process, we were involved in choosing fixtures, paint colors, etc. Great to work with during the building process.

Outstanding professionalism and workmanship is the hallmark of Lane Builders. We interviewed several builders in the area and Lane Builders resonated with us from the start. We were not disappointed. As a true custom home builder they worked with our needs and wants, making adjustments along the way, to complete a stunning home. It was wonderful watching our vision come to life. Jeff Burton and his experienced team were a pleasure to work with along with the quality sub contractors who offered great suggestions along the way. You get a feel for the satisfaction other clients have for Lane Builders when Jeff schedules a tour of their home to let us see first hand their work.

We love our house! I really wanted to give a 4.5 rating. The process was not perfect, but then is it ever? The design phase was excellent. Jeff Burton, from Lane, drove this process for us. Using pictures from Houzz and sketches we had made as a starting point we went through several iterations reining in costs and complexity while still achieving the desired design aesthetic. They took our ideas and helped us hone them. It was very collaborative and resulted in a design we love. The build process was long and sometimes arduous. Rick Blades, from Lane, led our build process and was patient and professional. The overall quality is generally very good to excellent. Our biggest frustration was with some of the subcontractors Lane chose or recommended. Their on site kitchen cabinet supplier was very challenging to work with and made numerous mistakes. In the end, we have a great kitchen that is exactly what we wanted but the process was much more difficult than it needed to be. Several other sub-contractors were also significantly less than excellent. They include the plumber and the hard wood floor installers. I know this is not a booming metropolis with scads of high quality professionals but there's no excuse for some of the quality and lack of professionalism we had to deal with. End of the day, most of it was made right but I would never use the flooring or plumber again! Lane was pretty good at managing through these problems but there were times where I felt like they left us hanging having to argue directly with the sub about our issues. However, the overall build process was well managed and resulted in a very high quality house. Rick and his team were great to work with! We love our house! The process is never perfect. The people at Lane from Jeff and Rick the partners on our job to the workers and office people were all friendly and easy to get along with. This makes all the difference when doing a project of this scale. I would use Lane again. I do recommend them to others. My only advice is, keep an eye on the subcontractors and push back hard and early if you see trouble. Thank you Lane!

We had nothing but the best experience with Lane, and give kudos to Jeff and Keith for making our dream house The whole team was a pleasure to work with and their attention to detail in construction and workmanship are second to none. When the usual issues come up in building a house at the beach they were great to deal with. Their office staff was amazing in dealing with paperwork, appliances, hardware and trim. Cant recommend them enough.

We had a great experience while doing a major renovation and addition. This took place while we lived at home and the crew became part of our family. They still to this day maintain the best customer service available. I also have used them at my house of worship to complete and design a few projects. They have mastered working with materials that are resistant to harsh environments at the beach. Presently Lane is involved in replacing a few windows and trim that were original to our home. They have a great "eye" from design to color that makes your life a lot easier.

On this, the six month anniversary of living in our newly built, beautiful “Lane Home”, we felt compelled to write and, once again, thank you for building our “retirement home”. The wonderful experience we had with everyone, beginning to end, made the experience all that more rewarding. Working with Jeff, Rick, Mike, Peg, Terri and especially the fine team of Dennis, Larry, Franklin and Tony, our finishing crew, exemplified the “first class” operation of “Team Lane”. And, you always chose very capable and reliable subcontractors. We cherish the friends we made, along the way, with everyone in your organization. It was once in a lifetime experience. If you are looking for excellence in construction, you need not look any further than Lane Builders. Our Lewes home, built by Lane, was our third custom home. We had good experiences each time we built but working with Lane was the best by far. We are now in the process of "refreshing" our second custom and wish that we could get the Lane Team to do it for us ... unfortunately, the fact that this home is more than 100 miles from Lewes precludes them from helping us.

Lane Builders built our home in Cape Shores in Lewes, DE in 19998. It is a beautifully built home. Not only is it well-crafted, but Lane also did all the design work, giving us exactly what we wanted, saving us the added expense of architectural fees. Iin addition, every deadline was met during construction. In 17 years our home has been maintenance free! What better recommendation could one want?

We came to Lane Builders having purchased an empty lot and not knowing anything about building a house. We had a list of things we wanted to include in our house; but had no idea on how to turn our ideas into a home. Like most people, we had a budget to work within and needed to manage the costs and closely monitor the project, but in our case we would be doing it from 225 miles away. The Lane team provided great ideas, good project management, quality workmanship and professionalism throughout the entire process. They kept us informed by phone, email, photos and videos. Our project was completed on time and within our budget. We are very grateful that we selected Lane Builders to build the home of our dreams!

Lane is building our new beach home. So far, communication has been excellent, process has been smooth, progress is slow but not all their fault, and the quality of the workmanship is excellent. We have a difficult Homeowners Association and Lane (and Jeff) have been very accommodating in dealing with the HOA and the very difficult reps. Lane was highly recommended to me, and I would give them 5 stars except the project isn't finished yet (hoping for end June, '13). We are very pleased so far.
