This review is overdue, but benefits from us having lived in our home built by Metzler Home Builders for six months now. We initially had some difficulty finding a custom builder who would take on an ~2,000 sq ft home (ended up at 2,100), but Metzler was very willing to work with us. Every step of the process was actually enjoyable! They were receptive to design/desires and provided constructive feedback. Every third-party vendor we worked with, such as bath fixtures, flooring, lighting, etc., were also professional and easy to work with. All of the products through these vendors have proven to be of quality, as we haven’t had any problems. Metzler uses the same sub-contractors for each of their builds and it shows in the craftsmanship that they chose professionals. We love our home and it turned out more beautiful than we imagined. You would not be disappointed in choosing Metzler for your custom home build.

When we were ready to build our forever home, Metzler’s was recommended to us by several people as the best custom home builder in the area and we’re so happy we followed their advice! Our experience with everyone on the Metzler team was great. From initial planning and design with Jordan, Janet, Megan, and Kent, to the actual build with Barry, Mike, and Skip and all of their subcontractors, we were impressed and pleased with their responsiveness, attention to detail, and clear desire to build a quality custom home that we would be happy with. Jordan’s expert guidance and supervision of navigating township and stormwater management requirements was phenomenal. Barry’s management of the schedule from start to finish was remarkable. Communication (and there was a lot of it!) was terrific and changes we requested along the way were handled with ease. Where do we begin to thank Metzler Home Builders for making our dream of a new home come true? Metzler Home Builders is an amazing, professional, courteous, family owned business that treats its customers like family. They are all wonderful people to work with. From initial design throughout construction they were always available to discuss any concerns we had. They answered all of our questions in an extremely timely manner, and made every effort to research/troubleshoot any ideas we brought to the table. Everyone we dealt with there has an amazing work ethic. From Jordan who oversaw and managed the whole process with us and made sure we were getting everything on our wish list, to Janet and Megan who assisted and guided us through the process of making all our selections, to Barry our contractor who handled every detail of construction and who kept us constantly updated on schedules and provided us with weekly updates and photos. This was extremely helpful to us as we were still in NY and not able to view the progress ourselves. And talk about going above and beyond – he would even look out for packages and deliveries we were sending to the house and move them into the garage for us. And Dan, the owner of Metzler, has even come to the house with a hose after the landscaping was done to water our newly installed plants, as were still in NY. We can’t say enough about Metzler Home Builders. We were truly blessed to have them build our new home, and would highly recommend them to anyone planning on doing the same.

We started our new home build adventure in November of 2019. What we thought would be an "easy" process turned into a two year journey. After many COVID restrictions and delays we FINALLY settled on our dream home in Feb.2022. It was a struggle navigating an unfamiliar new world. However, given the circumstances we were living in, Metzler kept the process as normal as possible. We grew together as a family as we navigated uncharted waters. Through ever hurtle Metzler had a solution and was accommodating. At one point we experienced our bank backing out of our loan due to a delay in the issuance of our building permit (the township was short staffed which delayed the issuance of our permit). Instead of complaining or being difficult, Metzler recommended a trusted lender and refilled out all the necessary paperwork. Rather than being ripped off and taken advantage of we were offered a lower interest rate and a loan officer who treated us fairly. During the wood price hike phase, in order to save us money Metzler purchased and stored our lumber in a barn until we were ready to build. As to be expected with any brand new custom home build, especially during new COVID regulations, there were unexpected issues. Instead of these issues becoming overwhelming and crushing we were met with prompt solutions. From the moment we started this process, to the final walk through, communication was excellent. Metzler provided us a team of experienced professionals. Everyone they work with excels at their craft. Despite how wonderful the house looked, during the final walk through we experienced a team who pointed out flaws that we hadn't even noticed. Instead of trying to brush under a rug issues we hadn't seen; Metzler pointed them out! They refused to put their name onto a project that wasn't completed to their standards and satisfaction. We are eternally grateful for all their hard work and most importantly their integrity! In a crazy world they maintained normalcy. Their name had already preceeded them when we sought out to hire them. However, now they all hold a special place in our hearts and the team is considered family.

We recently completed a custom home build with Metzler as our GC. This was a unique project in that our home is a modern one in an area where traditional homes are the norm. Throughout the process, Metzler's team worked with us during each step to "be a yes" to our requests, even if they were new/different/not the norm in their scope of work. We used some new/different materials and methods and it was never met with frustration or resistance; instead, these tasks were viewed as fun challenges that we could accomplish together. We were treated with kindness, respect, and as part of their team instead of just sitting on the sidelines. Our views were always accounted for and thoroughly considered. This was important to me as a female who was the main contact/manager for our family in this project. Each member of their team, down to their subcontractors, is professional, responsive, detail-oriented, and up to any challenge. As with any construction project, there are always bumps in the road, but this was never due to personnel or quality issues, but rather timing/supply issues mostly due to the state of the construction industry at the moment. Any item that needed to be addressed after we moved in was handled promptly and as if it was important to Metzler, as well as to us. Our finished home is beautiful, different, and totally customized to what we requested, and we didn't have to break the bank to accomplish this. Metzler builds truly custom homes for clients instead of offering a cookie-cutter approach and expecting the client to fit that mold. We thoroughly enjoyed the process of working with this team and are proud of what we created together with them at the helm. I would highly recommend Metzler for any custom remodeling or new construction project in which a true partner focused on quality is important. We had interviewed several builders over several years as we attempted this project, and Metzler was the only one we connected with who made us feel as if our project was wanted, valuable and totally doable.

Our objective was to add a functional room and upgrade our home geared toward aging in place. Our initial Metzler contact, Tim, listened to our ideas and offered multiple suggestions, many of which we implemented to refine and achieve our goal. Our multi-talented site coordinator, Mike, kept the project moving, kept us informed and resolved issues or concerns promptly with his ever present mild calm manner. After 25 years in our home the time was right for us to think about one more move. We wanted a wooded setting and wooded lots in Lancaster County are difficult to find, however we were fortunate to find one of the best remaining lots. A perfect setting for us that needed the perfect home. After meeting with several builders, we decided on Metzler Home Builders. Jordan, Janet, and Dan were extremely easy to work with and met our every request without question. They helped us through every step of the process, from building design to interior design. Everyone who worked on our home, from Brian the excavator, to Levi the framer, to Barry the project manager, were friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. Frequent site meetings were scheduled to make sure that we always knew what was not only happening at the moment but also what was going to be happening in the weeks ahead. Although we were not the only client for Metzler's at the time, we were always made to feel that we were the most important. Thanks to the Metzler's team we now have our dream home in our dream location. High quality, high integrity, great value, and really good people!

We are very excited to be breaking ground on our new home, to be built by Metzler Home Builders starting in February 2018. The months leading up to this point have been nothing short of exceptional. After meeting with several builders, my wife and I were referred to Metzler from both a neighbor and another family. After our first meeting with them, we knew we had found our builder. Jordan Metzler has been our main point of contact to this point, and has been terrific. Taking a sketch that we drew, Jordan transformed it into our dream home. They have managed to customize a home to our desire, while staying within a budget that works for us. Custom designed our house to meet our needs. Even tied it into an existing garage to save us money but covered it with siding and shingles to match the house. Subcontractors worked together well.

During the June 2016 Parade of Homes, we had the fortune of meeting Dan, Janet, and Jordan Metzler from Metzler Home Builders. At that time we were not looking to build a home, in fact we initially thought the process of building a home would be cost prohibitive and complicated. But after talking with the Metzler team we quickly discovered what an amazing experience building a home could be! And it was the Metzler Team that made it possible!! Our journey started with Dan during the Parade of Homes providing us an overview of the process, including the necessary information about what is involved with building a new home. This was followed by Jordan creating the plans for our home. We were amazed at the level of attention we were provided as customers and the level of detail that went into planning. From a standard duplex plan, Jordan created a home unique to our needs. We expanded the size of the home. Also we added a number of unique details such as an open railing to the basement, rounded corners on the drywall, and unique styling that maximizes angles so that our home does not look like a “box”. After sharing our story with friends who worked with other builders, they were envious of the level of customization we were able to do! Next Janet worked with us regarding the selection of carpeting, flooring, paint, light fixtures, cabinets, countertops, faucets, etc. Very quickly this could have become an overwhelming process – but Janet was right there with us as a guide. In the end all of the pieces came together to form a home unique to our style!! When it came to the actual construction of the home, Barry Yoder served as our project manager. As this was the first time we built a home, I am sure we had a number of those “dumb” questions – but Barry always had a smile in answering our questions. In fact there were a few items that we did not think of during the planning process and Barry helped in working with the team of contractors in making slight adjustments. The result is a home that is well built – utilizing the best materials and contractors! Overall if we had one word to summarize our experience – it is “family.” Metzler Home Builders is a family business and this philosophy carries through to how they treat their customers! We cannot say enough about how thrilled we are with our home and the entire experience!!!! Even our realtor, who has been in the business for 30+ years, was so impressed with Metzler Home Builders! So if you are considering having Metzler build your home – do it!!! It will be one of the best decisions you could make!
