Aspen Pulliam with Mountain Element Construction is an outstanding builder. We cannot imagine having selected a better contractor to build our “mountain modern” vacation home in McCall. Aspen completed our project in 2017, and our home is even more beautiful than we anticipated. Aspen took painstaking care to meet all of our needs, creating a true dream home. One of Mountain Element’s strongest assets is its commitment to total quality and an uncompromising goal of the highest building standards. Our home is sturdy and also incredibly aesthetic. Aspen worked with us through every step to ensure the project had just the look and feel we wanted. He combined his intimate knowledge of local climate, elements and terrain to deliver a gorgeous home on a tricky lot. Aspen is a fantastic communicator and kept in touch for even minor details, so that we had control of the project. Another important component Aspen brought to the project was his meticulous sense of craftsmanship. He impressed us multiple times by making suggestions that heightened the beauty of our home, where other builders might have taken shortcuts. The scale, style, lines and pleasing details of our cabin continue to deliver. Aspen added many features that would have slipped past us had he not shared his years of knowledge and expertise, resulting in a truly lovely dwelling — inside and out. Finally, we were very pleased with Mountain Element’s ability to work seamlessly with our architects (McCall Design & Planning) for a cohesive result. Aspen maintained dialogue with MDPI throughout different stages of the project, which meant he stayed true to our design ideals while also managing hiccups along the way. Aspen built our custom home. He was integral to the entire project, not just the builder. He works well with clients and with architects and builds like a true craftsman. He also was cost conscious with our budget, working with us to identify area where we could save but still achieve our design goals. After construction was complete, Aspen has continued to follow up and ensure the quality met our standards. He has our highest trust and recommendation.

Aspen and his craftsman helpful us add about 300 feet to our cabin. The remodel touched all the important spaces in the house. We now have a much larger and more beautiful kitchen and all new bathrooms in the house. We had a wonderful experience with Aspen: 1. He provided a schedule and kept to it. 2. He was available to answer our questions. We had a response within one day. 3. He was truly interested is building something that met our wishes and was of the highest quality. 4. As in any building project, there are a few surprises. He is truly a problem solver and got us involved in the solution. Aspen and his craftsmen were able to bring their years of experience to our remodel project and create a truly unique custom home. We simply expressed our interests and preferences and let Aspen and his crew come up with creative ideas. We endorsed almost every idea that they presented and we are thrilled with the finished product. Aspen’s ability to construct truly unique custom homes comes from being creative and then having relationships with local craftsmen who come to the job site to complete the vision. The personal relationships with the trade crews allows the job to progress smoothly, yet quickly and efficiently. For instance, sourcing Salmon River Jade from a local quarry, then having it cut and polished to our specifications. One specific example of his creativity was Aspen’s suggestion to move the fireplace from the middle of the family room to an exterior wall. This relatively inexpensive idea gained us additional floor space, opened up the living area, improved our furniture placement and changed the entire focus of the room. This single idea is something we would have never contemplated without Aspen’s input, but something we appreciate about our remodeled home EVERY day.

I hired Mountain Element Construction to build a new cabin/house in Idaho. I have been extremely happy with the finished product. As, I my per enact residence is in another state, it was important to me to have excellent communication with the company owner and builder. He was very good to communicate with me through email, text, telephone and send regular photos of progress. We also had regular in-person meetings throughout the construction process. I felt that Aspen listened to my ideas, provided feedback and options as needed and implemented what was agreed to after any discussion. Most importantly, Aspen is a highly competent craftsman who was hands on with my project. The construction is solid. It was my experience too that he is conscientious to hire the best subcontractors who take pride in their work, as well.

Mountain Element build out house in McCall Id. The quality of the work was extremely high. Mountain Element reworked items even though we were happy with the work. Mountain Element displayed the highest degree of integrity (turning down kickbacks from suppliers, documenting costs, etc.) The project was done right the first time and I only recall one warranty item which was caused by our poor choice of a door. Mountain Element Construction did a major remodel/addition for us in 2011. They were on time and on budget. Their entire crew was professional and each had what I thought were incredible skills. The fit and finish work was flawless - we never had to have them back for any touchups or corrections. Top quality from start to finish!
