Revolution Homes

I built a custom home with Ryan (and his company Revolution Homes). This was the fifth new home I've purchased and the second true "custom" home that I built. We moved in 6 weeks ago and couldn't be happier with the final product. Ultimately, it's the little things and attention to detail that make the difference between a good/average builder and a great one and Revolution Homes was top flight, from start to finish. I recommend them highly.

We hired Ryan and Revolution Homes to build a custom new construction home (3600 sq/ft) in Raleigh, NC. We brought the plans to Ryan and worked with him to modify the plans to meet our needs and budget. Our house is non-traditional with many modern elements including an open staircase, mixed materials on the exterior and other modern touches throughout. Ryan did an excellent job researching and providing us with cost estimates on what we desired prior to breaking ground. His team (Dan was a FANTASTIC PM) and sub contractors were excellent! They were responsive throughout the entire process. The quality of work they provided was high and they were willing to re-do anything that we pointed out that was not up to our standard. Although the house was completed slightly after the promised date, we were only 5% above our original budget and the house is stunning! In fact, we have had offers on our house and it is not even for sale! Ryan and Revolution Homes is knowledgeable, easy to work with and honest. Highly recommend.

Everything seemed great from the beginning. Met with Ryan, told him what we wanted and what our budget was. Gave him a deposit to start working with the architect. We got our plans back and we were almost $40,000 over our budget. At no point during out initial conversation were we told that what we were doing would be extra. I'm not going to go into all the details but we ended up not to move forward because we felt like he was not up front with us. We are now out a good amount of money and left with a bad taste in our mouth. We should have heeded the word of others and steered clear. Beware...oh and no response to our request for any sort of refund or break down of what we actually paid for..

Working with Revolution Homes was our first experience in building a custom home. Most people dread their experience. However, from the very beginning until the end, working with Ryan Johnson made it extremely enjoyable and a rewarding process. Ryan's educational/professional background lends a wealth of knowledge to foster a tailored and unique design for our custom home. Ryan really shows attention to every detail and a willingness to address the customer's concerns. His approachability also helped us establish an ongoing relationship and a great resource for many of our home concerns. While we are currently in love with our Revolution Homes custom home, we can honestly say that we would gladly go through the process again with Ryan.

Revolution Homes created a space called "home" for my family with the look and feel of fine Craftsmanship style and warm tones. They added special touches without adding cost. They truly built a custom home for our family needs and we will enjoy the special memories for years to come in our unique living space.

As a Realtor focused on new construction I meet a good number of different builders, from tract to semi-custom. Successful builders, much like anyone successful in their field can become complacent or too busy to discuss small projects. I was appreciative and delighted to find that this was not the case with Ryan Johnson of Revolution Homes. We purchased a spec home from Revolution Homes so I can't comment on the building process. But, after closing Ryan and his team were friendly and very responsive to any issue that came up. They seemed to take great pride in their work and workmanship. All the items on our punch list were taken care of no mater how big or small. A few items required a couple of tries to get right, but they were happy to get it right. They build a good home and care about the homeowners. Would definitely recommend them!

From start to finish our experience was amazing! Ryan was the first builder we met with and I knew that he was going to be the one to build our dream home! The detail and quality of work that went into our home is visible at first site. I genuinely look forward to coming home everyday to our perfect home!
