Tielens recently finished a complete home renovation for us in Sister Bay. And when I say complete, I mean literally from top to bottom! Our basically "new" home is beautiful and exactly what we had designed. Their GC, Dan Thiry, was super responsive, a very good listener and managed our expectations extremely well throughout the project. He offered great suggestions along the way too, everything from a change in the initial plans (much better!) to our lovely staircase railing. And bonus - he kept us on budget! I couldn't recommend Tielens more highly!

Tielens Construction is second to none! We are a family who thoroughly researches before making major decisions, like the decision to build a home. TIelens Construction kept coming up as the best choice to build our Door County home. We have not been disappointed. Working with Keith and Cindy as well as their crew and subcontractors has been a great experience. Tielens did a fabulous job with an addition to my 1880 log farmhouse. From the design phase to construction and finishing, they were conscientious and worked with us to blend the new construction to keep the character of the old farmhouse. They were well organized, paid close attention to detail, and communicated with us throughout the whole process. I am very happy with their work and quality and would highly recommend them.

We have gone through several extensive remodeling/renovation projects over the years, and we can say, without hesitation, that Tielens has been the most professional and competent company that we've ever had. Cindy, and project foreman Dan Thiry, went out of their way to guide us through a long distance renovation of our Southern Door county lake home. My husband and I had never built a house before. The idea of it always seemed a bit overwhelming. We had always heard it’s one of the most stressful things you can do in your life. So why would we build? We decided to build because after 3 houses and years of DIY projects later, we still didn’t have a house that we designed, start to finish. We didn’t have the house we could grow old in. Going into Tielens Construction for our first meeting, we met with owner Keith Tielens. And the most impactful thing he said to us out of the gate was how much fun this was going to be. In fact, he told us that we were going to have a blast. I remember being surprised at that. A blast? That was contrary to what we’d heard about building. And to be in business for 25+ years and still have the kind of excitement that he showed really stood out to us. He wasn’t trying to sell us on the quality of their homes. Quite frankly, the quality of their homes already speaks for itself. Look at any picture or walk through any Tielens home and you can see the quality and attention to detail is superior. They build gorgeous homes without question. But the pictures and walk-throughs will never speak to the journey of getting there. And I think that is a vital item to consider when you’re looking for a builder. The quality of a Tielens home already sets them apart from other builders. But that isn’t the only thing that sets them apart. Working with Keith and Cindy, their employees, and their subs made our journey a blast! It was a very gratifying experience, start to finish, and we absolutely love the home they built for us!

We built most of our home long distance so communication was key for us. This worked very well for us as they communicated to us often, both during design and once construction began. Everyone we dealt with from Tielens Construction and the subs used, were great to deal with and really went out of their way to exceed our expectations. My wife and I were very "hands-on" with each step of this process and Tielens allowed us the freedom to do this. At times, we could have used a little more guidance from them with design and the steps associated with the process and expectations at each milestone. However, we accomplished our dream of living where we do now and in a great, high quality house. We highly recommend Tielens Construction.

After interviewing five builders in the Door County area my wife and I decided that we felt most comfortable with Tielens' Construction. We could not have been happier with the experience. Keith and his crew built us a beautiful home, and their cost estimate was accurate! Everything about the experience was pleasant and Tielens' could not have been more professional. We live on the east coast and could only be on site a few times during the construction process; Tielens' kept us in the loop on everything, sent us photos practically every week, and had all appointments lined up for us when we were able to be out there. Cindy (in the office) walked us through every step and handled everything in a manner such that we had only to think about the concepts and design.
