WH built our custom home, which was completed in 2024, in a suburb of Richmond. Having never been through this process before, my (the Mrs.) #1 requirement -- aside from their skill and reputation, of course -- was feeling confident in our relationships & rapport with the team members. After a 14-month build, I'm happy to say that we had a wonderful experience and consider everyone a friend. If you're looking for a high-end builder or are considering a renovation of your current home, I highly recommend meeting with Jason (President) and his team.

We are on the final stretch of having JR Walker build our total custom designed home. They are professional and transparent in their processes. Jim has a first class staff that you work with- starting with the design consultant thru project management. Each and every person is dedicated to insuring that our home is exactly the way we want it to be. They have accommodated our requests and made many constructive and helpful suggestions. Jim is personally involved in every home his company builds and this makes a key difference. Building a custom home is not the same as a spec home and expectations on build time need to be realistic. From day 1 Jim and his team have been open and up front about schedule and where our decisions impact the delivery and cost. We feel like this has truly been a partnership in building our home.

Walker Homes is an excellent building company. Jim and his staff build high quality custom homes and also offer remodeling. J.R. Walker and his team build quality homes with numerous upgrades and allow you to truely customize the floor plan and other design features to meet your families needs. His staff has extremely helpful in walking us through each phase of the project. JR Walker Homes is a highly competent team of professionals who work effortlessly to build well structured homes. Jim Walker loves his job and takes great pride in his work. He has been available from day one where we met him at a brand new neighborhood site to determine if building a home was right for our family. He demonstrated great patience and excellent listening skills throughout our entire home building process and is even available today, three years later if needed. The JR Walker team provided us with an accurate reflection of how the home building process would work, including deadlines. From design consultant to site manager, each team player was respectful, helpful and simply very hard workers who really put the client first. We thoroughly enjoyed each selection process and appreciated the knowledge and guidance they provided. I found a double mantle from an old house in Lynchburg and presented the option of purchasing this mantel and adding it in our home to Jim. I was disappointed to learn that this mantle would not pass code. I understood Jims' team could build a mantle that could pass code and look exactly like the mantle I had found, however the price to do so was out of our budget. I was okay with this decision as I liked the mantle that we had selected that came with the house we were building. About a month before we closed on the house, Jim was in our living room scratching his head....he asked me if I would want a mantle similar but with less ornate characteristics . I was thrilled he had not forgotten my interest in the double mantle. His team made me the mantle and was able to do so keeping the cost in our budget! Now every Christmas, we hang our stockings and I think of how thoughtful and clever my favorite builder in the whole world is! My husband will tell you our home is insulated with the best products and he is 100% confident in Jim Walkers construction process. After many rainfalls, my husband is very proud to boast we have a dry basement. Kudos to the entire Jim Walker team as well to assisting us in making our basement handicap friendly for our aging parents. We appreciated all the expertise, hard work and dedication from this team. JR Walker Homes is building our new home. They have actually built our last 3 homes. We sold the first house because it was too large after our children grew up and moved out. The second house is wonderful and I would move the house if I could. We decided that the second house was too far from the city so we are building in a small town with all the conviences nearby.
