I can't praise AA Design Firm enough for their excellent design and services. Their taste, design sense, responsiveness and professionalism are exceptional. They took our drab primary bathroom to another level. Their selections for our floor and wall tile are stunning as are our backlit mirrors. We couldn't have done this remodel without them. I would highly recommend AA Design Firm!!

I hired Ava and Arlene for a small project for an hourly fee: space-planning and color palette recommendation for a new home my husband and I just moved into. They not only previewed the space once in person to get a feel for it and take photos to do their magic, but also communicated along the way. The day of our working session was a flurry of ideas, moving furniture and snap decisions, and by 3 p.m. that day, wow... the place was transformed! Plus, I was armed with a folder full of blueprints and inspo photos that they had compiled. Highlights: 1. They respected our budget and didn't try to upsell us. 2. hey told us exactly how to prepare to make the most of our working session. 3. Persistence & creative solutions: A mover insisted that a 101" sectional sofa could not be moved into our TV room . ... think a 1920s Spanish house with low ceilings and tight corners to turn. I'm writing this review from that sofa in that TV room. Yes, they studied the angles and even decided to take some hallway doors off to save that sofa from me having to sell it. Just amazing. AA Design Firm aced their mountain of a task - merging my style with my husband's style, inside a third style we we were unfamiliar with (Spanish colonial revival). Totally worth it.

Ava and Arlene are a whirlwind of creativity and passion for their craft - truly a pleasure to work with. They created a beautiful outdoor rooftop space in my condo that was both elegant and fun. They’ve also transformed my living room, coordinating the reframing of the fireplace. We get compliments from everyone who step into the room on the exotic wall slats and gorgeous porcelain tiling that Ava and Arlene selected. If you are looking for professionals who have exquisite taste and will bring your dream home into reality then look no further!

My wife and I recently relocated to Los Angeles. We brought a new condo that we wanted to fix up to suit our needs and style. We were introduced to AA Design Firm via our electrician and we are so glad and thankful for their detailed eye and honest guidance. It made our new transition effortless and we couldn’t have done it without them. They ended up assisting us with my home office, our two bathrooms and the fireplace. They also suggested new paint color throughout the condo. In addition, they made recommenations for a beutiful bookcase and a perfect office desk both of which we purchased. They coordinated all of the work with the electrician, the painters, and the stone mason for the quartzite slab above our fireplace. We couldn't recommend AA Design Firm more highly!

I do not write many, if any, Business Reviews but I felt compelled to because I have rarely worked with two people (in any business) that are as relevant, dedicated, fair and ethical as Ava and Arlene (AA Design Firm). They worked with me on my schedule, budget and most importantly my "style" and did not try and push me in a direction where I was not comfortable. For my high-rise, 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo they designed, coordinated the construction and saw it all the way through to the end. They made it easy on me by being there to meet vendors, receive deliveries and monitor quality throughout the process, They not only got to know my building maintenance people and the security team but were always super friendly and nice to them. Those of you who live in a shared environment know how important that is. My Condo now has both bathrooms completely remodeled, everything new in the kitchen, a beautiful wine refrigerator for about 200 bottles with a custom cabinet, new lighting throughout, new paint and some well-placed, practical but elegant furniture and rugs. Oh yes, and a nice "Bar" cabinet as well. Reach out to them and ask them to show you the Condo where they did everything, I am allowing them to share before and after pictures. I highly recommend AA Design Firm if you need help remodeling your home - house or condo!

Ava and Arlene have proven to be the one constant, stabilizing force of our home renovation in Studio City. Our project has been a nightmare. We've been through 3 general contractors, countless subs and trades hired and fired, shoddy workmanship and surprise issues leading to costly re-do's not only twice but sometimes yet again. A&A Design has been with us from the beginning and never wavered. They've held our hands and encouraged us to continue and fight the depression of disasters. They've brought in tradespeople to save us from incompetence and the frequent case of workers gone missing. Their scope is all encompassing from interior to exterior, fabrics to lighting, custom millwork and sourcing of everything from furniture to fixtures. All of this achieved by Ava and Arlene with kindness, obvious experience, informed design choices and suggestions in a relaxed yet competent professional manner. They truly have been our rock through a very difficult project of nearly 2 years. Finally back in our home, we are able to enjoy and appreciate the many beautiful, enhanced and more functional surroundings the designers guidance has afforded our new, improved lifestyle. Sophisticated yet subtle, understated while elegant, playful textures and patterns cohabit with clean lines and gentle curves or geometrics. They are good. They know their stuff and they listen. The relationship is one of mutual respect and working together while maintaining focus toward achieving positive result. We are fortunate to have found and worked with Ava and Arlene, and while it will sound cliche, we could never have made it through these past 20 months without them. Our home is so much better for the knowledge, vision and persistence both designers have provided. We can't thank you enough and are most grateful for everything you've done for and with us. You both have earned that hummingbird cake!

I had an impossible bathroom layout in my house and needed help, so I hired AA Design Firm to remodel. Ava was super professional, she made some cool creative suggestions to give the bathroom a clean/upscale wow-factor. She suggested adding a corner window which gave the bathroom a unique look. It was exactly what I was looking to create. She also suggested that we add a wall to create a separate entrance into the closet. When I first bought my unit I was just going to remodel the kitchen but when I saw the beautiful work the AA Design Firm had done for previous clients I realized how enormously talented they are and ended up renovating the entire unit! They helped me design my unit exactly the way I had envisioned! I really wanted a New York City contemporary look and they accomplished exactly what I wanted! I really liked how they always had several options to show me and they allowed me of course to make the final decision! They also would listen to any concerns I had and always took care of them. Most importantly they really care about you as a person and want you to be completely satisfied! I highly highly highly recommend them if you want to design any part of your home! You will be so happy!!!

I have been wanting to do something with my condo for a few years now, but I never did anything. It wasn’t until this year that I decided to take action and get something done with my place. I reached out to AA Design Firm and they immediately came up with a great design for my unit. I loved it. It really transform my place. Now looking back, I just wished I did it a long time ago. I was looking for help with a "refresh" of my living room & bedroom spaces - upgrading a few key pieces, and adding the right accents to bring everything together with a cohesive feel. Having zero experience working with a design firm, I did not know what to expect and was slightly anxious that my smaller scale project would be a lower priority for their team. Nothing could have been further from the truth. Arlene and Ava made the entire process so easy and fun, they brought such a wonderful energy and excitement to the project. Even in the midst of "safer at home" orders due to Coronavirus, they were able to keep my project running on schedule. At the outset of the project we discussed budget and I provided a range (fully expecting that final cost would come in at/over the top of the range), and to my delight, we completed the project almost right on the lower end of my budget, which was a lovely surprise! Arlene and Ava are amazing! They recently helped us create a cute interior design for our new coffee shop in Santa Monica. I only explained them the concept and the vibes I was looking for , and they took it from there. They assisted in selecting materials and light fixture details. One of my favorite details at the shop are these beautiful reclaimed wood for the counters, and a unique wood piece for my main high bar table next to the window. They also helped selecting paint colors, and furniture. Loved working them and will definitely work with them again.

I didn’t know what to expect when I called AA Design Firm, but I’m so glad that I did. They came to meet with us and was on time. They were pleasant and very quick in seeing exactly what we needed to do. We have been living in this house for a couple of years now and have been trying to solve this issue that we have with our bathroom. It’s a Jack and Jill bathroom situation which we don’t like and they immediately gave us the solution that we couldn’t see before. They truly help us with our bathroom and I feel really blessed. I called AA Design Frim to assist us in our home in Montecito Heights. The house is very modern mid-century and we love it. The only thing is that we needed to update the kitchen. The cabinets were old and the location of the appliances were not where I would like them to be. So Ava and Arlene the owners of AA Design Firm came in and completely saved us. They took control and did everything that we dreamt of. It was so effortless and stress free. I never knew renovating can be so easy. I wanted to redo my house that I just purchased near Universal Studio. Ava and Arlene were amazing and so detailed. I completely trusted them with all my furniture selections. I think if anyone is at a lost with this all design thing they definitely need to hire them. They will guide you through the entire process. At the end, I was so happy with the results. We contacted Ava and Arlene to help us transform our 1954 detached garage into a livable space for entertaining. They came in with a great design plan and helped us create a beautiful new laundry room, storage space and entertaining area complete with a wine bar! We put in a brand new garage door and two sets of gorgeous french doors that added so much light to the space! Ave and Arlene provided amazing finishing options and worked quickly to redo this space for us. They were professional and a dream to work with! Cannot recommend them enough for any scale home remodeling project!

I had worked with Ms. Ava Tai. She is by far the best designer I have worked with. She far exceeded my expectation and completely transformed my beachside condominium. Ava was attentive and meticulous and goes above and beyond to get the best material. Her construction crew had installed an elegant bio-ethanol fireplace with bookshelves next the fireplace that is now the centerpiece of my condo. Arlene and Ava are fantastic. They were recommended to us by another owner in our building. Consistently professional, followed up questions and concerns we had. Most of all they did great design work!! They found items for our home that we would not have found, ever! We added light throughout our condo. I did not want lights throughout the ceiling, so they recommended lights across the window, by our island, in the entry and in the kitchen. Its great to work in the kitchen now. I can actually see what I'm doing. The entry lights made the kimonos I have on display "pop". My favorite are the barn doors. These are frosted glass which hide our back door and storage room. Amazing to see the light come through them. The barn doors go incredibly well with the tile wall covering. We had such a debate on how to accent the walls. Ava and Arlene showed us several different options and we settled on 3-D hand made tile. In the bathroom, my husband wanted to do something different. I wanted a magnifying mirror. We got both! The selection for the medicine cabinet included a mirror, USB and electrical outlets. Love it!! The design they came up with added a nice touch. Then there is the fire place between our bedroom and bathroom. Elegant! Those are the highlights, not to mention the 2 wine refrigerators, 2 closet make overs and the little things, like hooks, lamp, and full dress mirror. Arlene and Ava are great to work with and was in our home to supervise all the activities. They paid attention to every detail. The contractors they use always kept our home clean and neat. I would use them again in a heart beat and have referred them to some of my friends.

A&A ( Arline and Ava we work together on a job in the Ritz Carlton hotel and residential, at the walk thru the job I (as an electrician for many years) notice the flow of are coming from these sisters every corner every light was design in the hade even before we talk about it, they show the complete job before we started, from the pass to enter the building the parking place for the vans and off Corse the work she demanded to be A+ no less. so if you ask me if I will work with her again? They did everything from A to Z. They made redecorating my home a simple breeze.
