Arlene is a joy to work with. She combines art and design training with a flexible and thoughtful approach to individual tastes that helps to create not only a harmonious atmosphere but one that is tailored to the homeowner. I feel that our house is not only elegant but also cozy and restful and reflects our taste - not an easy feat, and wouldn't have happened without Arlene! She also works around our busy schedule on both small and large projects, which is great.

Arlene designed our master bath and closet. She has an incredible eye for detail and functionality. Her service and work ethic are both exceptional. I can’t say enough about the ease of the whole process considering it’s such an integral piece of our house.

I could not have remodeled my kitchen with such wonderful results without Arlene. Her rich art background coupled with experience and knowledge about home remodeling made the experience enjoyable and satisfying. Arlene was very kind and knowledgeable even before she visited our house. We talked on the telephone and established a rapport so I looked forward to meeting her. She was timely, professional, informative, and suggested some great ideas. I truly enjoyed meeting her.

Arlene had great suggestions and tips that made a huge difference! The whole house had a better flow with her suggestions. Also I had some grease stains on my kitchen walls and she told me to use dawn and it totally worked. Her work was worth every penny!

Arlene was recommended by a mutual friend to help my wife and I for a large remodel that we did. Her input was invaluable. She was able to find the PERFECT fixtures, flooring, accessories and colors for our project. Arlene is a genius with color and her cheerful and kind demeanor was a blessing and helped my marriage stay in tact during our remodel insanity.

We finished a very large renovation/addition project last year that completely transformed our home. I was overwhelmed by the flood of decisions that had to be made, and in a timely fashion. The process of shopping, sampling, and ultimately choosing product was daunting. Arlene was a total lifesaver. Her advice was so sound and practical and her eye for color and texture amazing. She has the vision to see how a color or extra window or couch placement will impact the character of a space. She was an incredible resource every stage of the project including introducing me to her network of experts, explaining how to organize choices, pointing me to the best places to shop, and then helping me coordinate all the millions of details into a coherent design. And what a design she can envision. I love my new space in the way it flows and relaxes the eye. It is so comfortable and beautiful at the same time. I could never have achieved the elegance and beauty I now live in without Arlene.

Arlene was absolutely fabulous to work with. She was patient and made sure she understood my needs. Her attention to detail is off the charts - she was so thorough she even thought of where to store sink items She was so thorough that she made sure she included accommodations for my wheelchair bound child. I cannot say enough about how easy she is to work with, how outstanding her designs are and what a great value. You won't be disappointed if you hire Arlene for your design needs.

For over 20 years I have consulted on the lighting for many of Arlene’s projects and as one might expect, I’ve also gotten to know her and her work very well. The projects she has called me in on have ranged from wall and ceiling murals, single room re-dos to whole house restorations. She is simply great at what she does and here are some of the reasons why. 1.She’s an excellent communicator who’s patient, attentive to her clients’ vision, budget and timeframe and transforms it all into inspired designs which get clearly communicated back to her clients, consultants and contractors. Her skill set also includes comedian and therapist, both critical tools to be able to bring to any project. There will be laughter while the important business is being taken care of. 2.As a collaborator she’ll eagerly ask for my lighting ideas but it’s only after a whole lot of “and what else do you have?”, “and how does that work?” and “show me” that she’ll choose a fixture or lighting approach. With Arlene the solutions to design issues have to be interesting, beautiful, design enhancing and within budget. You see that level of thoughtfulness in all her work. 3.Arlene approaches every project as a fresh, exciting opportunity…no recycling here. She has a great eye for color, proportion, period, whimsy and knows how to maximize a budget. 4.As an artist, one only has to look at her murals and faux finish work to see her creativity, fine hand and attention to detail.
