We met Theresa DeChiaro nearly a year ago, when we needed help to renovate our 20-year-old, four-season mountain house in NH. We were recovering from a very unpleasant (and expensive) encounter with another supposedly more experienced designer, who was bossy, disorganized, extravagant and unresponsive. After that bruising time, I had low expectations, but Theresa DeChiaro restored my faith in the profession. She listened very carefully to our desire to modernize without changing the essential country “feel” of our house, and has been in close and productive contact with us ever since, helping us every step of the way. Her taste is impeccable, and when she disagrees, is not afraid to say so. She welcomed our ideas, presented many of her own, and oversaw the project from beginning to end, coordinating very amicably with the construction manager and a local, experienced kitchen specialist. She is very resourceful, and showed us furniture, floorcovering, shades and appliances we could never have found on our own. She is friendly and adaptable, meeting us on weekends and occasional evenings when it was necessary. Though she is rightly proud of her skills, she is low-key in her approach, and has no troublesome ego! We trusted her completely, and gave her our credit card to use on the project, since she was so careful about expenses. She grew up locally, which was a big plus in finding local products and workers. The finished house is beyond our dreams, and will be a much more friendly and useful base for family gatherings for many years to come. Working with her was a complete delight. Thank you, Theresa!

Theresa was essential in the renovation of our living room and den. She worked with us to put our needs/creative ideas into a workable design which she then communicated to the builder. Before bringing Theresa on board, we knew what we wanted but had no idea how to put it on paper and make it come to life. We were lucky enough to have TSD guide the remodeling of our busy pediatric practice at our local community hospital in Wolfeboro, NH. Theresa at TSD did an exemplary job, listening to our needs and providing fantastic ideas of her own.
