About Us

We're a full service interior design studio offering you furniture, accessories, drapery and window treatments, lighting, flooring options and reupholstery services. From new construction to remodeling, we create homes that are comfortable, pleasant and beautiful. We work with a variety of clients from babyboomers, emptynesters as well as younger couples finally looking for that completed look. Downsizing or building that dream home, we specialize in a lot of handholding through projects from conception to completion with spec-ing product, working with trades, choosing materials and then furnishings...making sure that all comes to a wonderful completion for our clients. Many of our projects are turnkey services, being the clients' voice on the project, freeing up their time to work, keeping in touch via Facetime, email and phone, we are able to bring their dreams to fruition. A great collaborative effort.

We work on an hourly fee basis plus discount on purchases. Our showroom features furniture, acccessory, wallcovering, fabric as well as lighting, art, carpeting window treatments and rugs. Many interior designers use our showroom to shop for their clients as well- we cater to the designs available usually to the trade only. We shop the trade shows and specialty markets through the year to bring different looks to the studio as well as utilizing locally talented trades people.

I have worked with Patti on several projects. Watching her work with clients is a pleasure: she does a fantastic job working with clients helping them design their interior spaces and helping them make their selections. In addition to helping her clients design the space, through that process she also creates the plans, details, documents and specifications that makes my life so much easier as a trade. As a trade, we love working with Patti because it makes our job more efficient, eliminates rework and extra costs.

My wife and I have worked with Patti Kommel for over four years on two homes. Patti has been extremely helpful in the planning, design, purchase, and installation of all facets of our home remodeling. Our most recent project has been the redesign and remodeling of our Master Bedroom, Master Bath, and Walk in Closet. That project was over a year in development and execution. Patti was critical in helping us plan the space and purchasing the hardware, contemporary barn doors, and furniture. She really made a major contribution in designing our Master Bath which is fantastic. The last two items that will finish off this project should be delivered in the next few weeks. Those being a custom made King size Headboard and custom bedspread. We have been very happy working with Patti and have recommended her to several of our friends who needed design support.

As a license residential builder specializing in interior remodeling, I have interacted with several interior designers. Many have great vision but lack understanding of construction methods Patti is great to work with because she is flexible. She understands the perspective of the builder, and keeps open communication with the client and builder. She is quick and creative and able to negotiate compromise.

You will get to know a design expert and a genuinely nice person when you decide to work with Patti Kommel of Homework Interiors. My husband and I have worked with Patti for many years. She coordinated an almost whole-house redecoration in our previous home and a kitchen refresh and other projects in our current home. Even though our tastes have changed over the years, Patti always learns what we like and somehow manages to find exactly what we want. From new kitchen cabinet and island paint colors to new dining room and foyer chandeliers, Patti always finds the perfect colors and pieces. We appreciate her great suggestions for contractors who are professional, friendly, and reliable. We always feel confident and comfortable with her recommendations. I have known and worked with the owner, Patti, for over 15 years. She and I have collaborated on over a dozen projects. We most recently completed a remodeling of our kitchen. She has a broad knowledge of suppliers and craftsman to complete any project for new construction or remodeling an existing home. Patti is a season professional. She is warm, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, creative and patient. She is extremely good at helping the client to visualize the 'after completion" portion of a project. She is relentless and completely dedicated to completing the project on time , in budget and to the customers satisfaction. i would not hesitate to recommend Patti for any home improvement project.

About 20 years ago we met Patti of Homework Interiors for the 1st time when we purchased our home and needed furniture. She did a great job then. Over the years, we have called upon her expertise, albeit an accent piece, changing wallpaper in the half bath, remodeling /gutting our bathrooms, updating light fixtures and this last year getting rid to the now 20 year old furniture and buying new. Always a true professional with a great amount of knowledge. She listens to what you want and the way you live --- pet friendly, new furniture. Always some one I would feel comfortable recommending.

We have worked with Patti from Homework Interiors for a few years now but we have always admired her work and flare. No matter what the size or type of project, each experience has been fun, professional and beautiful. The details of the room can certainly make or break our cabinet designs. Patti always works with the cabinetry as part of the design rather than something to design around. It's hard to choose what we love most about Patti, but if we had to choose one thing it would be how individual her approach is with each client.
