J&L Interiors, LLC

Julie and her team at J & L Interiors were wonderful to work with. Julie has an uncanny ability to see how a space can come together. She began by understanding what we already had, then found ways to bring in new ideas that felt seamless with the existing setup. Her carefully curated selection of furniture and artwork, paired with accents she found at local stores, added another dimension to her service. We especially appreciated how mindful she was of our budget and timeline. She never pushed us to buy anything unnecessary, and she used affordable finds from big box stores to create stunning results. Julie and her team were patient through multiple rounds of revisions, listened carefully to our feedback, and went above and beyond to bring everything together. We couldn’t be happier with their work and would wholeheartedly recommend them.

Hi All, We just completed a total renovation of our house from long distance, never on site. Julie and her team made the impossible, possible! We worked with them virtually and always felt she had our best interests at heart. Julie is a seasoned professional who keeps you focused, listens to what you want/need and within your budget. She'll let you know if you're straying from your remodeling design and goals. We have already recommended Julie and her team to others. She is a one of a kind and we were so blessed to have her as our "quarterback on the renovation of our retirement home". We had a blast, our home is more that we expected and you should consider J&L Interiors for your next job. You won't find a better interior designer and team to work with!

We had a wonderful experience working with Julie and her team. From the beginning, they took the time to understand our style, needs, and vision, and they brought everything together beautifully. Julie has an exceptional eye for design and attention to detail. She was incredibly responsive, organized, and easy to work with throughout the process. She also did an excellent job coordinating and communicating with the other members of our project team, including the builder and architect, which helped everything come together seamlessly. We especially appreciated that Julie wasn’t afraid to challenge us when she felt a different approach would lead to a better result. She always had a thoughtful reason behind her recommendations and was focused on making sure every detail was right and the final product was truly exceptional. We are so happy with the experience and would highly recommend Julie and her team to anyone looking for talented, thoughtful, and professional interior designers!

Julie and her staff at J&L Interiors offer superior service. The team listens to your ideas and dreams and presents a well thought out plan to make your house truly a home. Every detail is addressed & the team is always thinking two steps ahead to ensure a smooth process. I have worked with Julie and her team for nearly a year and as we complete this transformation I am completely in awe of the finished product. I highly recommend J & L Interiors for your next design project.

After having our kitchen completely remodeled last year, we wanted to re-decorate the rest of our first floor to tie everything in, as it had been over 20 years since anything had been changed on the floor. After a long search, we chose J&L based on two things, their Leesburg location, and the comfort we felt after our initial consultation. Lori and her team knocked it out of the park! We wanted something not too over the top, comfortable, and inviting. They completely nailed it! They re-decorated with new furniture, rugs, lighting, drapery, shades and paint. More times than none, we just went with Lori's suggestions and she did not disappoint. We are thoroughly enjoying our new spaces and want to give a big thanks to Lori, Ethan, Claire and Duane.

We had an exceptional experience working with Lori and her sister Julie on the design of our 10,000-square-foot estate home in Loudoun County, VA. From start to finish, they handled an enormous scope of work with professionalism, taste, and incredible attention to detail. Lori made all of the finish selections for the home and absolutely nailed it — cabinetry, tile, flooring, stone, and fireplaces all came together beautifully and cohesively. She also coordinated and selected the tile, flooring, stone, and fireplace contractors, and the quality of those trades showed throughout the project. The level of organization and scheduling alone was impressive, especially given the size and complexity of the house. Their showroom is beautiful and extremely helpful. Being able to see designs on screen while also reviewing physical samples made decision-making easy and gave us confidence every step of the way. Lori and Julie were patient, thoughtful, and clearly experienced — they anticipated issues before they became problems and kept everything moving smoothly. It’s rare to find a small, family-run business that can operate at this level on a large estate project, but they absolutely delivered. We trusted them completely, and the end result exceeded our expectations. I would recommend Lori and Julie without hesitation to anyone building or renovating a high-end home.

I've been in the Remodeling industry for the past 40 years, the last 10 of those working with the most discriminating clients that expect a standard of experience that is second to none. You can't deliver that alone you need an exceptional partner like Lori Duval. Unlike most designers Lori knows construction and what's going on behind the walls so her designs are considerate of construction costs. Unlike most designers Lori designs to the homeowners taste and design aesthetic, not her own, or what is trendy. She wants her designs and material selections to reflect her client and their lives, loves, interests. None of her projects are exactly alike. She has an amazing showroom that helps educate clients on styles and finishes so they feel confident in their decisions without any regrets. Despite all her success and industry awards she retains a student mindset striving to get 1% better every day in all aspects of her business. And if all of this weren't enough she is truly a good, caring, hard working person who is a delight to work with. Lori and the entire J & L team behind her are second to none. If you value great design and service spend a little more to get a lot more w/J & L.

Our decision to work with Lori and her team was one of the best we've made in years! Lori is passionate about the work she does and her enthusiasm is contagious. Her professionalism and skills as a designer are unmatched. The best part is in the details; Lori makes it a priority to get to know her clients and understand their style, needs and budget and consequently creates a unique vision for each project she takes on. She works with the best contractors, all of whom she has long established relationships with. She is in constant contact with contractors while work is being done, and nothing is signed off on without her approval. That greatly reduces the stress of any project! We've had the pleasure of re-designing our entire house with her and it honestly feels like we have a completely new home. She gave us a home we love. I can't recommend her enough.

Lori and her phenomenal team at J&L Interiors did an amazing job for us on three different properties. We built a new home and engaged Lori and her team as we were finishing plans with our builder and architect. Lori worked closely with us to help develop layouts, choose furniture, materials, rugs, lamps, window coverings, etc. They made a super-complicated process incredibly simple and seamless. Whether we were ordering a new couch or picking out tiles, Lori was always there. The design team also helped acquire a stunning new custom table, advised on the selection of the perfect wood, received all of our furniture, managed returns and Set up things beautifully even when we could not be there. We could write a whole book as to why we chose J&L to complete 3 very different properties for us. We cannot recommend Lori and the J&L Team enough. Thank you for making our house a HOME.

We have been working with J&L Interiors to furnish and decorate our new home. The end-product is beautiful. Julie (Sensitive Information Hidden) and Olivia (Sensitive Information Hidden) have helped us with everything: window treatments, paint colors, fixtures, artwork, furniture/fabrics, lighting, floor treatments. Our new home is on a bigger scale than our last home and much of our existing furniture would not have worked in the new space. We had to rethink how to decorate the space. Julie and Olivia have created a very stylish, comfortable, cozy, perfect home. Everything flows and it suits our style. We could not have created such a beautiful space without them. They are professional and responsive, and a ‘one-stop shop’ for home decorating needs. We can ask for ideas, referrals, decorating solutions, and they are always able to help. We have enjoyed working with them (so much so that they are helping to decorate our second home). We give J&L Interiors an ‘A++++’.

My husband and I moved into a home in the Purcellville area earlier this year. We needed help with numerous upgrades including painting, lighting, and finishing the basement. We wanted to find an interior designer to guide us through the renovation process and recommend a trusted contractor for the work. After meeting with Julie at our home, we were quickly convinced she would be a wonderful partner for our many home improvement projects. Julie is a great listener who made every effort to meet our needs. First she helped us choose beautiful furniture, rugs, and drapes. She suggested and designed a built-in unit for our family room t.v. She recommended a company for our audio-visual and Internet needs, and their technicians did excellent work. Julie also referred us to a painting company whose painters worked quickly but carefully to paint most spaces in the house. The contractor we chose through Julie helped us with new recess lighting in several bedrooms and new plumbing fixtures in some bathrooms. Julie designed the layout for finishing our basement. The contractor is almost finished with that space and will begin remodeling our master bathroom soon. He and his crew have done excellent work. After we decided to upgrade all the closets in the house, Julie designed them with maximum use of the spaces and then referred us to a closet company that has just installed beautiful new closets throughout our home. All along the way, Julie listened carefully to our needs and provided us with beautiful choices for furniture, rugs, drapes, cabinets, lighting, tile, and plumbing fixtures. Early on she created a Pinterest board so we could easily view the options for the various spaces. Her very capable assistants Olivia and Duane helped install blinds, light fixtures, and plumbing fixtures. It has been a pleasure working with Julie and her entire team. Their professional service has made the renovation process as stress-free as possible, and their reliable referrals have done great work. Julie has enabled us to turn our house into a beautiful, comfortable home. We highly recommend Julie and J&L Interiors.
