Julie Rootes helped us remodel our entire kitchen, dining room and living room. I now look at the before pictures compared to how it looks now and I'm blown away. My expectations were exceeded and I still can't believe it's my house. Every detail was thought of and she did a great job of listening to what we wanted, but also encouraged us to consider doing things we would have never thought of on our own. There's no way our remodel would have looked as great as it does had we not hired her. She was always very professional and worked hard with our contractor to make it an overall very positive experience.

We hired Julie Rootes Interiors at the tail end of a comprehensive house remodel. Julie was instrumental in completing the remodel and also in furnishing the finished house. She helped with everything from floor stain selection, picking kitchen backsplash tile, and selecting light fixtures throughout. My company, Bella Ironworks has had the pleasure of collaborating with Julie (and her team) on several pieces of unique ironwork. Julie has creative ideas and a great design sense. She goes the extra mile to make sure the finished pieces are beautiful down to the finest details. She is very professional and a true pleasure to work with!

Julie transformed our little 1959 bungalow into a beautiful, bright, cheery, comfortable space. Our work included inserting new can lighting to brighten previously dark rooms, painting all of our interior walls throughout the house and updating baseboards, interior doors and door trim throughout. The colors are gorgeous shades of gray, blue, green and white and are complemented by stunning window treatments, stylish new living room and family room furniture and updated accent fabrics on things like our piano bench. In the kitchen, we moved the soffit, extended our counter to create counter seating and the PentalQuartz countertops are both practical and pretty and look terrific with crisp white cabinetry and nickel pulls and knobs. The backsplash is a very subtle green/gray honeycomb tile and is one of my favorite parts and I'd never thought of anything like it without Julie! New hardwood floors throughout replaced old tile and parquet wood. Julie had a vision from Day One. She is creative and detail-oriented and very invested in her work turning out well. There is no question or ask that she won't happily answer. I found myself even emailing her about where to hang my dish towels and what silverware holder to buy. My joke is that I am now incapable of making any home-related decision without her! She's a very good consultant who doesn't just tell you what she likes; she works hard to understand her client's personal tastes and ideas and incorporates them into her recommendations. I really appreciated that even as she overhauled our living spaces, she incorporated my favorite sentimental pieces including a redwood coffee table my Dad made, family Audubon prints and multiple family portraits. This was hugely meaningful as the home reflects our family's personality while also boasting an updated stylish new look.

Julie is a fabulous designer with an amazing eye and understanding of layout and color. She is creative, practical and efficient. She is very thoughtful and easy to work with. She helped me pull together some rooms and put the finishing touches on others. I love how she uses technology in the process as visual aids. Her team and operations are also very strong, detail-oriented and efficient and do a great job handling and tracking the details of the business in a very timely manner. I would highly recommend Julie to anyone for both big and small projects.

Julie Rootes has designed several rooms in my house. She is creative and has excellent taste. I tend to be conservative and she encouraged me to be more adventurous. I love the results. She balanced high end with more affordable pieces and made the process painless.

Julie was extremely easy to work with and provided some simple, cost-effective ways for us to "update" our tired-looking house. Julie Rootes is an incredible designer. We have been working on projects throughout my home from January 2012 thru present. When we started, I was unsure of what I was looking for. But Julie worked with me in a way that I was finally able to express what I wanted and she delivered 10 fold. She is an expert and found and or had made the perfect pieces for me. We worked on two girls' bedrooms, our living room, dining room and starting a media room. Every piece she chose, every accent detail perfectly fit each girls' personality for their rooms and mine for the living spaces.
