We recently completed a huge remodel on our home that was built in 1982. We hired Markel design group as it was important to us to create a design and function that would suit our family and prove to be timeless. Maria was wonderful to work with. She is a true professional, listening to what we envisioned for our space and the style and feel we were striving for. She helped to keep us on track with our design choices so that we could effectively accomplish what we set out to do. Maria and her team are professional, timely, knowledgeable and talented. They were all a pleasure to work with and we are so happy with our new Home. I would highly recommend Markel Design group for any project you may have.

Maria was a godsend! She helped us stage our house - which had been on the market for two years. Maria came over and offered several suggestions, all of which were simple and inexpensive. She even let us borrow some personal items that made the staging even more stunning, Within 48 hours, WE SOLD OUR HOUSE.! We could have not done it without her! Maria is professional and classy. At the same time, savvy and thrifty. She knows the market and can help you guide you in decorating your home. I had so much fun working with her in this project. Highly recommend her!

My husband and I used Markel Design Group for our new (to us) home and we absolutely loved the concept and finished product that they produced for us. From our initial meeting to the “move that bus” moment, our experience working with Maria Markel and her talented team was nothing short of exceptional. Maria is an amazing designer who took the time to fully understand our space, aesthetic, room flow, and lifestyle. With kids & dogs, we also needed durability. I am passionate about having a living space with clean lines, and Maria’s team grasped that in the first session. The vision they captured utilized and freshened every square inch of space – and even created space we hadn’t thought of. Something else to note: Maria’s organization and attention to detail is beyond measure. I get the feeling she thinks about her projects even when she sleeps! Her level of exceptional detail ranged from purchasing the right furniture for our family to removing walls so spaces were better utilized, to swapping out our light fixtures with better, more efficient bulbs. She even had a beautiful centerpiece waiting when our new table arrived! AND she taught me some tricks on how to make a prettier, more welcoming bed! Now I don't even buy a light bulb without asking Maria for current design advice. Maria and her team made us feel like our project was priority #1, and we truly appreciated the hand-holding since we were living in the bottle so to speak. Maria’s ability to freshen a space amazed us, and we found ourselves talking at dinner parties about her amazing talent. Maria was incredibly respectful of our budget and I never felt ‘pushed’ to spend more. Her rate is beyond fair, and I’m certain her creative process was far lengthier than what I was actually billed. Thank you to Maria Markel and her very professional team at Markel Design Group, who made this project so successful – and so much fun!

Maria Markel and her team are great to work with. They are very knowledgeable in all aspects of design, color and construction. Working with them has always been a treat. I have always admired Maria’s work in all the Parade Homes she has designed in the past, so I was delighted that her firm was selected to select the furnishings for this home. Maria paid particular attention to the details of the furniture she selected to marry with the finishes I had selected. We hired the Markel Design Group to provide design services for the construction and interior design of a new home. Maria, Kristin, Stephanie and Theresa are a great company, very talented, creative and are fun to work with. They provided excellent and beautiful solutions to our design preferences and challenges.
