As fans of Arthur McLaughlin’s home staging projects, we first asked for his assistance in 2009 when we rightsized from a 3,500 square foot custom home to a much smaller 1880 Italianate Victorian. Arthur skillfully helped us winnow our large-sized furnishings, create the new the room-by-room design – and - most importantly, selected the most wonderful cheerful yet elegant color schemes that fit within the Victorian theme of the house. We were both delighted and impressed with his sense of space, his color palette and the quick resolution to what seemed to us an overwhelming challenge. We have recently right-sized again, to a Nob Hill mid-century high-rise apartment in need of a total do-over. Arthur and his associate Mimi Delin visited, and immediately grasped the opportunity. He listens, he is creative, decisive, and fast. We unreservedly accepted his plan, and then stood back. The job has required a demo crew, painters, floor installers, tilers, plumbers, electrician, a shade guy, and the toleration of a building concerned with noise, dust and smell. AMA’s sub-contractors appear promptly and on-schedule. They are polite, professional and provide high-quality work. I want the project, which also involves all-new furnishings, finished expeditiously, so we have weekly progress reviews which are invariably productive. Marshaling all this effort is quite a task, one which Mimi Delin is well-qualified to handle. Both she and Arthur can be found at the jobsite, in jeans, on the floor, measuring, inspecting, and thinking. They do the work. AMA has additional staff who source ideas and materials, move the stuff around, do whatever is necessary. Needless to say, we highly recommend Arthur McLaughlin Associates.

Working with Mimi and Gillian was an absolute pleasure. The care and attention to detail that they used from both picking out the furniture to installing everything was impeccable. Additionally, they were extremely flexible in scheduling the deliveries and weekly meetings to work with my unpredictable schedule. When my husband and I decided to do a much needed remodel and as a busy real estate professional, I knew that if I wanted to keep my clients happy, I needed design help. A client in San Francisco highly recommended Arthur McLaughlin and his team and I was surprised that they were willing to take on a project in Menlo Park, which by the way was never a problem. From our very first meeting I knew that not only did we have the right design team but I particularly love Arthur’s very definite opinions, “I don’t like this” or “I’m fine with this”. Thanks to his guidance and candid approach our house is not only beautiful but it “works”. It has the correct lighting, the right placement of light switches, beautiful but easy maintenance kitchen counters, the right paint and floor stain, and on and on. I have had such a fantastic experience with Arthur McLaughlin and his company, Arthur McLaughlin & Associates, and have worked with them for many years. Arthur first helped me in my last home and I felt very comfortable with him and his company. I was really impressed with the end-result and specifically felt his color choices were quite spectacular. When I recently decided to relocate and find a larger home, I knew I would enlist Arthur’s help again. My new residence in Tampa, Florida, is about twice the size of my last estate and the grounds are sprawling in comparison. Arthur was vital in many aspects of my relocation, from finding and approving my residence, to approving product selections and implementing his wonderful floor plan. Again, Arthur’s color selection amazingly fit my personality to the tee. I'm just now completing the renovation of the new residence and every aspect of Arthur’s work is perfect, down to the placement of each piece of furniture and artwork. Arthur has also worked with one of my best friends, completing her master bedroom wing addition with exterior kitchen, and front entry addition. The end-result was very impressive and she also sings his praises. My home in Tampa is somewhat out of the way for Arthur, who does most of his work in the San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles, but he is always so accommodating and is able to visit me regularly when he’s working with clients in Miami.
