Thank you for such a well thought out and detailed review. It is so accurate on how our remodeling journey played out. As you remember, when I first walked in when everything was completed, I was so very pleased with the outcome. I am especially grateful to Annie Bissell, our lighting designer, whose technical magic made everything come alive in a space that was a bit challenging lighting-wise. Thank you for letting me help lead you down the path of a space that feels like it completely "yours"!
And here is a picture of the laundry room now...
A good part of the superb results pictured above has to do with YOU and your ability to trust me. Thank you. You were receptive to my ideas, especially the one of "we don't need to fill this square corner with cabinetry in this kitchen"! I cannot thank you enough for engaging me again for your second kitchen. You also did everything to allow my creative brain power to flow. I am so happy for you and Jess, and know you will have
many fantastic moments in your new space and beautiful "newly remade" home. I am also grateful to Michael Lysczek Architect and Brannock Built for their contributions to this project. It is not just one person who can make it all happen-- it takes a good team--and we had one! Cheers, SB
Thank you for your 5 star review above! You are spot on about the endless rounds of decisions...this is *the* common theme among ALL homeowners when they undertake a formidable endeavor such as a kitchen remodel. I wish I could make that endeavor easier. The bottom line is "it takes the time that it takes" because everyone has to process the information on BOTH sides of the brain. Combine this with the thousands of options available to the homeowner, and the result is a sea of permutations and combinations!
Thank you for letting me help you through this journey. Your kitchen is absolutely fabulous. It fits the house, is functional and beautiful, and I have no doubt you, your family, and friends who love you will enjoy the space for many years to come! You all were a delight and I am very grateful for the opportunity you afforded me. :-) SB
When I stopped by the other day I was totally wowed by the result. As we discussed, some people usually hesitate when considering an "open plan" kitchen such as yours. The result has contributed to better living all around in so many ways possible. Thank you to you and Liz for being brave and recognizing the benefits of "tearing down those walls"! Thank you again for engaging me to assist you with your kitchen remodel. Best, SB
Thank you for the 5 star review above. I agree with your term "organically". There is not a "set in stone" approach to projects--in my opinion, that limits creativity. I am thrilled with final outcome of your space...when we went to photograph it, when I walked in, it was so welcoming and bright. Definitely a big change! We achieved our goal! Thanks again, SB
Thank you for the wonderful effervescent review above! When we began the process of designing your kitchen and pantry area, we developed our unique dialogue and design "dance" . As you came to realize, the devil is in the details, and I loved your penchant for wanting to be educated about these details as we went along. This process ensured that when the plan was executed by Miller and McIntyre, the outcome was a success. As the saying goes, an "educated consumer is my best customer". Thank you so very much for engaging me as your kitchen designer! Sincerely, Sandra Brannock
Many thanks for your review above. I have a saying that the outcome of successful remodeling project is not only a reflection of the professionals involved but also the client. Collaborating with you was delightful and this was due to your ability to listen carefully. You also had very precise ideas of where you wanted to invest your dollars for the "wow" factor in your kitchen. I too am so pleased with the outcome, and pleased that we enjoyed the process together. Thank you again! SB
You were wonderful to work with. You had so much insight as to how you wanted your space "to look", and together we made it happen. I love that we went with a gray paint color for the cabinetry. I am also delighted that you "took the plunge" and invested in higher end appliances--they were clearly worth it as the integrated style makes the kitchen feel more pulled together. Thank you so much for hiring me!
Sincerely, Sandra Brannock
Thank you for the glowing review above. I am delighted that we collaborated together so well, and that this resulted in a kitchen that met your high expectations. Your investment in finer high end appliances, cabinetry, and flooring will reward you both for years to come! Thank you for allowing me and Brannock Enterprises to plan and execute your kitchen--working with you both was a delight! SB
We certainly achieved your goal--no typical ubiquitous kitchen. Instead, together we accomplished a unique reflection of all the elements you love and cherish. Intricate
and warm finishes and textures which included wood, stone, porcelain, and copper. I am extremely grateful to you for entrusting me with this project after you considered some other high end kitchen designers in the DC area. Working with you created a terrific dynamic for me as I thrive in going into the "unknown", which we did together, and we did it successfully as the photos above testify. Thank you for this marvelous and one-of-a-kind opportunity. I cannot wait to photograph next week! Best, SB
What a transformation! Thank you for your review. As you know, this kitchen was a challenge mainly in its pre-existing footprint combined with your growing family's needs. I was happy to hear that you and Dave no longer "bump into" each other while prepping and cooking meals together. The whole point of the large island was to allow everyone to gather and/or work without conflict.
It was a tough project but the outcome speaks volumes about how a great client like you can make my job easier by communicating openly and directly throughout the entire process. Thank you for hiring me, and I wish you and your family many wonderful years in your new kitchen! :-) SB
I also say "Ahhhh!" when I enter your kitchen. It was a pleasure working with you, and I am of course delighted that you are as happy with the final outcome as I am! I wish you many splendid years in your beautiful kitchen. Thank you for giving me this opportunity to work with you!
You remember those early few days of our design relationship? I remember walking into your kitchen and thinking "Oh boy, this area needs a lot of help!". You allowed me to participate and lead you into the "light"! Thank you for the kudos above, I am so happy that the outcome for you was "mind-blowing"...your review about me above is "mind-blowing" for me, very much appreciated. Hard work is "hard', and we did quite a bit of it, but in the end the results were clearly worth it. I wish you many happy new memories in your kitchen. Thank you for hiring me! SB
Thank you very much for taking the time to review me. The before and after photos of your kitchen are remarkable! We went from a "dank dark" version to an uplifting bright white scenario. You give me credit but I want you to know that you also were focused in your vision which enabled me to do my job well. Congrats on your new kitchen space and I look forward to taking professional pictures very soon!
Thank you and I cannot wait to see everything when finished. Almost there! It is difficult to convey the wonderful feeling, before and during the design/remodel process, one ultimately experiences when the kitchen is transformed. Obviously you have it now and recognize all the worthwhile effort behind every single decision that lead to "buyer's joy".
So happy. Thanks again for the opportunity! Sandra Brannock
Thank you for your review above. I remember what your kitchen "was" before, and it was gratifying to see your beaming face when I walked in the other day to see the finished result. This is why I "do" what I "do"...for that very last moment when I see someone like you happy and satisfied living in their new vastly improved space. Thank you again for allowing me the opportunity to make life better for you and your family.
Thank you and I am glad you remember my reminders about ways to stay in budget. You had expressed from the beginning that budget was important, and as you know now, I did not let that point stray very far, if at all, during our design process together. Thanks again and wish you many happy "Shakespearean" moments in your new kitchen!
Thank you for your review above. We shared our unique design journey together on this project, which began by having an open dialogue about what bothered you about your existing kitchen. Our "trip" together in "figuring out" the particulars of your dream kitchen required forethought, communication, and planning. This very process rewards me professionally--as we find ourselves, at the end, together, "landing" in the right place with the right outcome. Thank you for hiring me!
Thank you for your wonderful review above. Thank you for hiring me and having faith in the process of "thinking outside of the box". Your existing kitchen footprint was a challenge, to say the least. But now you are living in the newly configured space, and with your growing family, can stay connected and together during the most important times.
I cannot thank you enough for the praise above. Also, as you state above, Mark McCormack acted also as the essential element for the project's success. As you have witnessed, the collaborate effort of all involved is "the" linchpin for your project's fabulous outcome. I would like to add, though, that you both contributed greatly to this successful outcome. We acted as a unified team. For this, I thank you!
Thank you for your comments above. As you say it so well, many homeowners swim in a sea of "darkness" when taking on a kitchen remodel. The selections process can seem never ending. But you handled it so well...I witnessed that "lightbulb" moment for you when you realized that you had to "process" the details that could easily be overlooked otherwise. I and my peers in kitchen design and construction enjoy rising to the challenge of "enlightening" our clients--reading "between the lines", and probing further to ensure a mutual understanding has taken place in our work together, which it sounds like was able to do with you and Rich. Thank you again for allowing me to assist you in getting you the fabulous kitchen you now enjoy!
Thank you for taking the time to provide a review of our work together. I appreciate the five stars! It was a challenging project and we had to be creative to fulfill all your family's needs. You were a delight all throughout the project and I think our collaboration on the material selections turned out perfect! Thanks again--this means so much to me!
Thank you for providing the feedback on your experience in working with me. As you know now, the journey in one's kitchen remodel is a personal one. I did provide you with guidance but in the end, when I walked into your kitchen with all the details completed, I knew it reflected your style completely which was beautiful and timeless--and unique. The last part is what makes the "key turn the lock" properly. That is the ultimate goal. Again, thank you for giving me the opportunity to assist you in making your home more complete for your family.
Your kitchen made a 180 degree turnaround. I owe a lot of its success to our contractor Mark McCormack. And you were also very objective and concise about what you wanted. Thank you very much for your business--grateful that all of us together could make your kitchen a place where you now want to "hang out"!
