Mike Papola Custom Cabinetry

I had such a great experience with Mike and team! We live in an older house, and the kitchen cabinets have taken a beating over the years. The layout of our kitchen is fine and quite honestly we couldn't afford all new cabinets. We decided to pursue replacing the doors and drawer fronts. We wanted to have our existing cabinet bases painted fresh for a cohesive look. Papola doesn't do the painting, but they recommend a finisher for the project. Mike was communicative and prompt from my first message. He was able to get me a quote quickly for both him and the finisher. I learned that painting the existing cabinet bases in place would make it tricky to use my kitchen for a few days. We had a trip scheduled for the next week and I was shocked that both he and the finisher could do it while we were away. The doors and drawer fronts were perfect. The installation and precision was spot on. Jonas the finisher that Mike recommended also did a fantastic job. The end result is that our kitchen cabinets look brand new. I am so happy and so impressed and felt the price was very reasonable. You should definitely use Papola!

Mike built a custom vanity for us in the workmanship could not have been any better. They use only the best hardwoods on the vanity and all drawers and cabinrts come with soft close. I cannot say enough about the paint and finish it's as smooth as glass. This is craftsmanship the way it was done many years ago, this is furniture that will last a lifetime. Everything is on schedule and on time and the installation is very professional.

Mike Papola came highly recommended from our construction manager. Our project had a large amount of cabinets, closets, vanities, drawers etc.... Professional and on time installation. I was amazed at the ability to move huge closet pieces into the house. We had a few extra requests after install and Mike showed up and handled all of them on the spot. Will definitely use him on future projects.

We have such an AWESOME experience with Mike and LeeAnn. We've recently remodeled our home so we got to design our kitchen as well as our three bathrooms (and laundry room) the way that we want. We sent out the design to a four local vendors and only one of them said that they can do it by building everything in Italy and then they would ship it here for assembly. The cost was way high compared to our budget. Then we took a shot by contacting Mike and LeeAnn (even though they're 2 hours away) since they recently did a job for our cousin in SF. The bid that we got back was very reasonable so we pull the trigger. From start to finish, everything was on point. All the communication was done through email/phone and we always feel like we're their only customer. And even with the Santa Rosa Wildfire, all cabinets were delivered exactly as schedule to my builder's surprise (he told us all his cabinet vendors always delay). We are so HAPPY with the Mike/LeeAnn as well as the final products.

When we were looking for cabinets for our kitchen remodel, we considered several options. We looked at some highly rated cabinet companies like Crystal Cabinets out of Minnesota and Signature Custom Cabinetry located in Pennsylvania but really hoped to find someone local. Luckily we found Mike Papola Custom Cabinetry in Windsor, CA just 20 minutes from our home in Sebastopol. I can't begin to tell you how happy we are to have selected Mike and his team to do this work. During the design process, Mike made two personal visits to our home during which he took precise measurements and made numerous recommendations that greatly improved our design. We were able to select wood type, create a custom stain, and specify drawer sizes, and any other features we could think of. He dealt with a unique fireclay farm sink and other specific features that in retrospect, could not have possibly been accomplished using a remote cabinet maker. In most kitchen remodels, the GC wants to install the cabinets, especially when they are coming from out of state. We were fortunate in that the very team that designed and built our cabinets, came to install them. This made for a near perfect installation with no drama and few surprises. The few minor issues that arose, were fixed quickly - another advantage of using a local company. Besides delivering and installing our cabinets, Mike's team also installed our handles perfectly. Given we have 46 drawers, and numerous cabinets, it's amazing that every single handle was perfectly installed. We highly recommend Mike Papola Custom Cabinetry and will use him again in the future for all our cabinet needs. P.S. The cabinets arrived ahead of schedule and on budget!! P.P.S. After calling another cabinet company who would not install, I called Mike Papola and made an appointment for him to give us an estimate. We had a small existing pantry and I wanted a cabinet built to surround the fridge and make the pantry larger. Mike was only at our house for a short period of time but completely understood my vision. The crew came to install a few weeks later and they were amazing. The cabinet is new, but looks like it should have been there all along. I can’t say enough good things about this company. From LeeAnn to Mike to the install crew, they are all outstanding and I HIGHLY recommend hiring them. You will not be disappointed.

I had the pleasure of working with Mike Papola on a Sonoma County fire re-build. The home was partially ruined in the tubs fire. Initially we were attempting to stain the existing cabinetry in a nearly 6000 sqft home, however we quickly realized the smoke odor was not eliminated by the remediation company. Mike came in, met with myself (the designer), the homeowner, the contractor and the painter. He bid out the entire project, met with us on numerous occasions, including at his office to clarify the project would meet the design specifications and "look" we were going for, Mike and his staff were readily available to provide answers both in email and text promptly. The project was extensive, complete with a butler pantry, kitchen with two islands, a wine room and bar extended off the eating area, a built in bookcase surround, laundry room, master Walk in closet and 5 bathrooms. We changed the previous built in desk into a wine room, opened up the book cases (which previously covered windows), it was important from a design perspective to be certain we had our finish back at the island (which Mike took care of) and the pieces attaching the bookcases as one unit over the window. MIke was helpful in allowing me to work directly with the finisher to create a custom stain suited to the project, when we had a bit of a snafu with the wood not taking the stain properly, MIke was on it, no questions asked. He came back, picked up the doors, got them to the finisher, working hard to please the client with the final finish. In addition to building the cabinets, they installed them, packaging an acceptable price for the Insurance company and the homeowner, saving us the time in getting someone else to do the installation. Our overall experience with Mike and team was Excellent. I am looking forward to working with him on future projects.

Mike Papola and his entire team were a pleasure to work with. Not only was their work beautiful and flawless, but they were easy to communicate with and took pride in their work. Mike was able to replace drawers made by another company to fit specific measurements we needed, and this was apart from the cabinetry he was making for us. LeeAnn in the office was always informed and helpful in scheduling everything. Our built in wall of cabinets and shelves were added after a full remodel of our kitchen and family room. Mike matched the cabinets that were made by another company the previous year.
