I am so grateful that Studio Dearborn offers a consultation service! I am at the start of a kitchen renovation and working with an architect, but not ready to commit to a local kitchen professional and needed to get advice on the layout the architect was giving me as well as advice on many of the details of the kitchen. I have been following Studio Dearborn’s work for some time now and love Sarah’s design sensibilities, the fresh approach she brings to every project as well as her thoughtfulness on how form and function come together in the kitchen. After months of following Studio Dearborn on Houzz and Instagram, I reached out to Sarah for a design consultation and review of our kitchen cabinet layout design. We sent over our kitchen elevation drawings along with a floor plan of our house and discussed each view. The takeaway ideas from our meeting was so much more than I had expected! I thought we had a an almost "finalized" kitchen cabinet layout, but after our meeting, I realized that we had overlooked or not even considered a lot of items that Sarah and I discussed. These items would have bothered us in the future, had we not spoke to Sarah. Our consultation definitely went beyond the layout and aesthetics of the kitchen. Her advice really does consider how the end user will really USE the kitchen!

I recently worked with Sarah on a consult regarding our kitchen remodel. We had preliminary elevations which i sent to her along with other questions. She was able to offer insightful advice by making lots of small suggestions that will really be impactful on the overall flow and aesthetic of our new kitchen. She was precise with her measurements, has a great eye for design, is a creative problem solver, easy to work with, professional and personal and above all, she is a great person! Sarah introduced us to Renovation Angel and through them we were able to donate our kitchen to them so that it could be re-used by another homeowner. Her idea books and portfolio are thorough, organized and easy to use. Sarah always made herself available to speak, to visit the kitchen both during the planning process and throughout the renovation. We had a lot of comfort knowing that she was always around during the process. We worked with a contractor that was recommended by Sarah and the process could not have gone any smoother. Her leadership and client services skills were excellent--she regularly coordinated with us about the process and timelines and she would separately be in touch with our contractor to discuss the more technical components of the project. She was invested in the project and the finished product as much as we were. We really appreciated this part of working with Sarah. Sarah is also a valuable design resource. She provided us valuable input regarding appliances, tile, lighting, plumbing and many other re-modeling decisions. Last point, while Sarah is the consummate professional, we ended up spending a fair amount of time with her throughout this process. As good as a kitchen designer that she is (and WOW, she’s good!), she is an even better person. Her heart is in all the rights places. Glad we found her and proud to have a Studio Dearborn kitchen in our home!

I have been researching houzz extensively for design ideas for updating my kitchen. I fell in love with one of Sarah's projects. This led me to look through all of her posted projects and she does some beautiful work! As I browsed through the comments sections, I was very impressed with how she answers each question. You can tell she goes above and beyond to help people. I reached out to her for information for my project and she quickly gave me assistance. Sarah was a pleasure to work with. This was not only my experience but also the experience of my contractor and designer. She treated my kitchen project with the care and precision as if it were her own with attention to every detail. When I wanted a sink that was unobtainable, she designed a sink with the specifications of what I was searching for. The sink is amazing and I learned she entered the sink into a contest and it was a finalist! She really listened to my vision and made every effort to make it happen. Sarah is a talented designer and is incredibly easy to work with. I wanted to expand our kitchen and her instincts and vision were spot on from the beginning. She has an incredible eye for detail and creative in her solutions. (She built a custom space for our food waste.) The cabinetry is top notch. My kitchen is very organized now thanks to her. Sarah didn’t stop at cabinetry. I consulted her on tile, lighting, chairs and kitchen table. She even came with me to multiple places to look at countertops. Sarah's own award-winning kitchen inspired the tile and paint choices for the kitchenette/bar and laundry room areas in our basement renovation. I emailed Sarah to ask for specific advice about grouting marble tile and about paint color. She responded immediately with very detailed suggestions. Her expert advice gave me the confidence to ask the trades we are working with for exactly the look we wanted to achieve, and the roadmap to get there! Sarah is not only an artist at what she does, but she is incredibly generous with her time and with sharing her expertise.
