Curtis was fantastic to work with. Curtis was great at listening to our thoughts and ideas as we headed into a remodel that included gutting the kitchen & 2 bathrooms: building a custom media center & a custom fireplace surround with mantel, new laundry closet, new pantry and more. From the start he listened to the changes and updated style we were looking for in our 90’s home, made great suggestions based on his experience, then showed us the plans in 3D making it very easy for us to picture how our ideas and his would come to life. We were not able to be on site during the renovation so Curtis wore the hat of general contractor for us, overseeing the carpentry, electrical, plumbing and tiling as well. His entire crew did superior work. The cabinet work throughout is beyond superior. Our bathrooms are just 5 X 8 and the design made the most out of every square inch. The custom vanities are fantastic, fitting as much storage into a relatively small cabinet as possible. His suggestion to put the sinks to one side to maximize counter space was perfect. The kitchen is just gorgeous and again, storage has been completely maximized. Figuring out how to give us a pantry closet is just part of the cleverness of his designs. The built-in gave us everything that was missing in this home, TV center, bookshelf, art display space, dining linen storage and more. The little details matter to Curtis and crew and they sure do make a difference. You will enjoy working with Curtis. Not only is he extremely talented but he has a great personality, is very professional and always responsive to each text, email and phone call.

Wonderful job by Curtis and his team. We had an incomplete kitchen missing cabinets and an island that didn't work and Curtis was able to match the cabinetry and finish. Curtis is very professional and a pleasure to work with. He provided lots of great ideas that expanded our original intent into the kitchen that works for us. Our install started today and will finish once the counter tops are ready so will add additional comments once final.

We purchased a beautiful new lake home but the master bath cabinetry just wasn't working for us. It was tough to justify new cabinets/countertops but it was so worth it! Curtis came in and designed beautiful new cabinets and recommended finishes and countertops. Except for agreeing to color choices, I did not have to do a single thing. The downtime in our bath was less than a week (far less than my previous experiences). Plus, they are custom. Nothing beats custom cabinets.

It is always a priority of ours to work with local builders, sub-contractors, and fabricators who are as close as possible to each of our projects. In the design and construction of Camp Stew, we had the opportunity to work with Zarse Custom Cabinet Company. Curtis is a meticulous craftsmen and the final results of his and his crews work were of high quality. Prior to fabrication of the cabinets, they produced three dimensional shop drawings of each of the units to be built, allowing us to confirm that they met the design intent. Curtis showed a willingness to listen to our design ideas and the skills to implement them. As this was a LEED Gold home, Curtis worked to source materials that were sustainable and did not contain harmful VOCs, at a time when these resources were less available than they are now. Ultimately, we appreciated collaborating with Curtis and are happy with the results.

We worked with Curtis and his team to design an entertainment wall unit in our lake home. From the beginning we were given the white glove treatment. Curtis fully understood our vision and made creative, practical suggestions. The resulting wall unit is a masterpiece! Stylistically it fits the space and surroundings perfectly, and the craftsmanship is second to none. We had two relatively small jobs completed by Curtis over a five year period. His suggestions were insightful and constructive. He completed the work over the winter when our house was empty and upon our return in the summer, we found the work area completely cleaned up and the workmanship was outstanding. Our kitchen is what people always comment on upon entering the house and it has clearly added to the value of the house. We highly recommend this very personable and talented man and his company!

Zarse Custom Cabinets designed and built custom kitchen cabinets along with an island and cherry countertop for our new Connecticut home in 2012. Curtis and his staff are extremely pleasant to work with and provided guidance to us throughout the entire process. They thought of everything we would want in our dream kitchen, down to a special cabinet to house cookie sheets and cutting boards, a spice drawer and a beautiful bar area to use for entertaining. They kept true to the farmhouse / craftsman style of our home which is situated on a 20 acre farm property in Fairfield county. We were looking for a unique entertainment center and built-in bookcases when we found Zarse Custom Cabinet Company. The design phase could not have gone better! Curtis listened to our description of what we wanted and the drawings reflected that fact. He made some great suggestions that added detail and flair to both pieces. The tour of his shop was very impressive. We were so pleased with every phase of the project, we ask if he could build us a dining room table. Again, we could not have been happier with the results.
