Horrible customer service. Good install but don't plan on any help after that.
We had G&M install a beautiful granite countertop in 2019. Their selection of materials was amazing and the install crew was very professional. Within 4 months we noticed that the clear seal in a 1"x1" area had peeled away down to the rough granite. We called G&M and they said they would get someone out there as soon as they could, but with the height of Covid they were not doing any in home repair work. Understandable. We remained patient and finally about 8 months ago they got a technician out to our home to clean and reseal the area. The repair failed within 2 months. We called them back and they said they would talk to the technician and have him contact us to make it right.
I called this morning and talked to Mike Roohan. He said he would look into it and get back to me. He got back to me an hour later and surprisingly said in no uncertain terms would they bother to make good on our installed countertop, because they were too busy to ever do so. I asked him, “NEVER??” He said that they would not be able to help us. Ever. Period. I asked him if this is how their customer service was, and he got angry and told me that he would put me on their "NEVER CALL BACK" list. I didn't know reputable companies had their own blacklist! He then hung up on me.
Fortunately, being a contractor, I know of a couple of GOOD AND REPUTABLE companies that should be able help me out. I will also NOT be calling G&M for the next kitchen, the next 3 bathrooms and any other projects I have in the future and will NOT be recommending or referring any prospective customers to the G&M company.
Thanks Mike for letting me know your true colors.

I purchased Kitchen Counters for about $9000. After about 6 years they faded and looked worn. I called Granite and Marble works to ask what could done. They sent an individual who stated that it would take two guys a full day to strip and refinish them. When they finished, the counters had blotches, swirls and scratches that were not there prior to the service. When I called they said it was due to my cleaning products. We hadn't even cleaned it yet. And our cleaning products would not have caused scratches and swirls consistent with their grinding pads. Nor did our cleaning products have any thing to do with the spots they ignored and never polished,. One of the gentlemen that did the work said it needed to be done again, but when the owner got involved he pointed the blame on us to avoid the cost of coming back and doing it right. Also, Margaret lied to BBB in my complaint to them. Just as George Lied about trying to call me to make an appointment. Lying seems to be a how they work Granite and marble Works.

I had an excellent experience with this business. The selection of granite to choose from was overwhelming but their process made it easy and fun. The cutting of the stone was perfect and the installation superb.
A big thanks to Jeff and the crew at Granite and Marble works.

Granite and Marble Works Inc did a great job for us. They have a nice collection of stones to choose from. Their installers are well trained and very courteous. We are very happy to have chosen them.
Thank you very much for the cutting bloc.

I have never posted a negative review in my life, but I strongly feel this is warranted. Granite and Marble Works seemed to have a few good reviews, so I took a chance and paid them a visit. I was waited on immediately which was great, however the salesperson was very abrupt and somewhat condescending. Even so, I very quickly fell in love with one of the first pieces of granite he showed me for my counters, and they did have a nice selection of stone. I gave them a 50% deposit and started the process. I could go on and on about the complete lack of respect this place has for other people's time, and the manner in which I was treated, but in a nutshell here are my key issues with this business:
1 - Salesperson was rude, and ultimately when I ended up speaking with the owner (Margaret) she was even worse.
2 - They had absolutely ZERO respect for my time, even though I expressed to them several times that my schedule was challenging and I needed advance notice for appointments. They have the attitude that everyone just sits at home and has nothing better to do than wait for them to dictate their schedule. Very poor way to run a business.
3 - The install scheduling process was an absolute nightmare and my phone calls to question why I was not even put on the calendar were repeatedly ignored. When I finally did get a date on the calendar for this week (July 6), I was sent an email (no phone call) 4 days prior telling me they had to reschedule due to the July 4th holiday. This was after I had already cancelled a business trip to be home that day. When I questioned the owner, who did actually return my phone call, she made up a lame excuse of me not approving the layout which was just sent to me the day before, with another email telling me they had to change the appointment only 20 minutes later. Come on guys...really???
Overall this was the worst experience I have ever had with any business in the Capital Region area. My family has owned a business in Saratoga since 1949, so I understand the challenges business owners face, but that is no excuse to treat a paying customer, and one who has been nothing but patient, like garbage. Shame on you!
FYI, there are several other counter top businesses that I have already been in contact with who seem great so don’t waste your time with this one.

I recently had to replace an older gas cooktop and the new unit's insert was a slightly different shape/size than the old one and didn't fit in the cutout on the granite countertop. I contacted Granite & Marble Works on a Friday to see if it would even be possible for the the cutout to be enlarged. They assured me that they could do this and quickly set up an appointment for me for early the following week. The technician/stone cutter, Rob Lopez, was excellent, second to none. He understood that I was quite nervous about this project and put my fears to rest. He explained to me exactly what he would be doing and completed the job quickly and competently (in fact the cutout is now much cleaner looking than the original one). He made sure the new unit would fit, and cleaned everything up after all was done. The price was very reasonable as I was expecting to have to pay much more than I did. My new cooktop is now installed and I couldn't be happier. While he was there I had him take a look at another spot in the counter where it had settled a bit and he said that would be an easy fix. I fully intend to call Granite & Marble works for that project as well as any other stone project I might have in the future. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for any homeowner who might have a project - large or small - involving stonework.

Granite and Marble Works helped us find the perfect piece of marble to match an existing piece in our bathroom--the in house fabricators even finished the edge of the new piece to match the old one. After expert measurements and a perfect install in a difficult spot (we live in an old house where nothing is "square") the bathroom is flawless! Thanks G & M, you deserve more than five stars, you ROCK!

From the time I walked in the door people were very helpful. I was looking for granite countertop but had no idea where to begin. The first thing they did was ask me questions about my kitchen (what I had and what I planned on doing). I then gave them a budget and they only showed me what was in it. When the gentlemen came to measure he was very precise and actually came back just to go over a few details with my husband. The installers were very polite and professional. The only problems I had was not getting one of their messages and not having the granite polish with them when they delivered. They are local (which is one of the reasons I went with them) so it was easy to pick the polish up. I also received a follow up call asking how I liked the granite (which I love!!!) to see if everything was okay.
