We truly regret hearing of your dissatisfaction with the cabinets and services we provided. During your initial consultation, we STRONGLY emphasized the potential inconsistencies of applying stain to solid wood materials. Being a natural product, all wood components will accept stain at different absorption rates, resulting in naturally occurring variations in the finished appearance. Not only do we have samples in our showroom (showing inconsistencies), we have a specific disclaimer section in our contract emphasizing the naturally occurring variations in the wood, the effect this can have on stained appearances, and specific verbiage relieving us of liability for the final appearance. You signed our contract and fully understood the drawbacks of custom staining. For many customers, they appreciate the inconsistencies in finish, as it shows the true nature of the wood products by highlighting the wood grains. You obviously had different expectations.
Pursuant to your comment regarding service, or lack of, we pride ourselves on being known as a service company, and not a cabinet company. Upon your initial complaint, not only did we promptly respond by sending multiple company representatives to inspect the products, and discuss your concerns, we ultimately removed all of your cabinet doors and drawer fronts, and replaced with newly stained products at no additional expense to you. Although the newly finished cabinets were substantially more consistent in finished appearance than the originals, we were still unable to meet or exceed your expectations. As such, you asked if we could replace them all again with a painted finish instead of a stained finish. At this point, we offered to replace everything in a paint color of your choice for an additional $2,000 (to recover additional labor costs).
Again, we regret that we could not meet your expectations of the finished products purchased. We bend over backwards educating clients of the finishes and potential inconsistencies of stained cabinets. Unfortunately, your expectations and our capabilities to meet them were not aligned.
