DRT Works - David Thompson was hired for the construction of a retaining wall, garage and driveway. After months of delays and frustration, but only partially through the project, he abandoned the job, leaving us with a very poorly constructed retaining wall, a severely damaged garage slab, a broken up driveway, as well as a mess of leftover block, and consruction debris. He failed to get a permit for the 6ft tall retaining wall. It is so poorly constructed that building officials from Greenville County, the state of South Carolina LLR, and multiple contractors have advised us not to build a garage in front of it. We have no choice but to tear it out and replace it. Unfortunately, DavidThompson poured the concrete slab for the garage directly in front of the retaining wall and then proceeded to drive equipment over it, damaging it to the point it will be necessary to either remove and replace it, or repair it costing thousands more dollars for either option. He also failed to remove excess dirt that he excavated to build the wall, along with failure to grade properly, causing mud to flow over the wall and directly to the house every time it rains. The end result is that we are out over $42,000 paid to David Thompson and looking at major costs to repair the damage he caused to our property. Save yourself. Do not hire this guy.
