Barbara Wilson Landscape Architect, LLC is a full service Landscape Architecture and Design firm that provides our residential clients with high quality and appropriate designs which are environmentally responsible, meet the client’s needs and addresses their specific site conditions. Barbara creates unique designs for each client that reflect their needs & desires, design sensibilities, the project's location, size of the overall project and budgetary constraints.. Through careful planning she can create landscapes that provide year round interest, are deer resistant and are low maintenance. Beyond plantings she can provide designs for any desired amenity (outdoor kitchens, entertainment spaces, pools/spas, patios, fire pits, shade elements) to enhance the livability of your property. Barbara has over 24 years of experience in the Connecticut and New York area, having worked as a project manager and designer at several well known local Landscape Architecture firms. She provides big firm expertise with small firm pricing and great personalized client relations.

Barbara met with me several times to understand what I was looking for in relandscaping our house. She prepared detailed plans and pictures of what the plants would look like once they filled out. She also provided hardscape plans for the back yard and driveway. I really appreciated being able to purchase design plans only as many designers package the design and installation. In our case there is a lot of construction also going on, so I wanted to phase the landscaping dnd have the opportunity to do some of the gardening myself! Barbara is an absolute pleasure to work with, and a wealth of information.

Barbara planned and installed beautiful and efficient outdoor lighting for our modern rustic home which is deep in the woods. She was onsite and readily available by phone and e-mail during the planning and installation process. She has a network of skilled landscapers and electricians to assist her with project installation. It was easy to work with Barbara on my project. I highly recommend her.

We hired Barbara to help with landscape design for the front and back of our newly purchased home. The scope of work included the removal of several large trees, applications to attain the necessary permits, complete design and plant suggestions. We needed several special plants because of our location in wetlands and Barbara guided us through the entire process. She is flexible in considering the preferences of the client, made several trips to our home, was easy to work with, answered our calls and questions promptly and helped us achieve the beautiful landscape look that we wanted.

Barbara has twice helped us improve the exterior of our commercial property. We wanted to improve the exterior to be more customer friendly and eye appealing for people driving by and we wanted a privacy hedge to placate a neighbor. She provided great ideas and kept our budget in mind as she worked on these proposal. I would readily work with her again and hearti;y endorse her.

After detailed discussions and site visits, Barbara designed a plant plan for both our back, side and front yards. She had lots of suggestions for plants, shrubs and trees that would provide seasonal color, texture and interest. She included our preferences for colors, level of maintenance and size. We love the way our yard looks now and are so excited to see the different plants flower and bloom in different seasons. She is very easy to work with, listens well and completed plans in a timely fashion. Would highly recommend her!!

Barbara listened carefully to our concept and reviewed photographs and survey of the site. She delivered a complete and creative landscape plan that included a site map showing where each plant was to be put, a list of plants, a description of the plants, and informative narrative. The recommended plants were appropriate for the weather and location. The resulting landscape has given us much pleasure.

Barbara consulted with us with regard to landscaping for our property. The former owners spent $$$ on extensive landscaping and irrigation systems. Unfortunately, they did not work with a Landscape Architect, and the nursery salespeople provided a layout and selection which looked great when installed but after 10 years has grown in to a point where we have an overcrowding problem which can only be resolved by extensive removal of plantings and reconfiguration. Barbara provided us with a Plan to accomplish this and the result is very effective. I highly recommend Barbara for her professionalism and creative solutions and strongly advise others to use a licensed Landscape Architect as the 1st step when they are considering any updates or changes to their landscaping.
