About Us

GreenCraft Associates is a husband and wife team who work together to transform any property into a lovely, functional extension of the home with outdoor spaces that inspire everything from lavish summer parties to serene escapes from the busyness of everyday life. Rob DeStefano, LLA #000950, is an artist with an affinity for nature and architecture. The son of a contractor, Rob has hands-on experience working in construction, which makes him a highly qualified and skilled project manager who selects customized teams of contractors built around each project to ensure the highest quality craftsmanship. His wife, Trisha Coene, is a garden designer and outdoor display horticulturist who also studied Landscape Architecture at Rutgers University and completed her apprenticeship in Display Horticulture at Kennett Square, Pennsylvania based Longwood Gardens. Currently she maintains and designs perennial, annual, container and kitchen gardens for residential clients. She also provides consultation and holiday decorating services.

Rob is a true professional; from initial concept through design, planting and construction, he's very much involved with developing and ensuring a beautiful and successful final product. In addition, he is extremely knowledgeable, very creative, and ultra responsive. Since completing our initial design and plantings in 2016, Rob has returned to our home no less than six times to answer questions, review progress, and provide input. In addition to our landscape design, he also provided landscape lighting design and installation services.

We have chosen to work with Greencraft Associates for the past year or more, and they continue to provide us with excellent service and lots of good ideas. --- We have been lucky to consult individually with both Rob and Trish on a series of different kinds of projects that have included design and implementation as well as follow-up on how to optimize maintenance over the long-term. --- In one realm, we have been very impressed with their professionalism and knowledge in creating and expanding a landscape design within a very natural meadow-and-forest setting... Plain and simple Rob and Trisha are a joy to work with. From design, implementation, to weekly care. They love what they do and the results show it. We hired them for our overall landscape design, BBQ's, fire pits, flower and veggie gardens and potted plants ( indoor and outdoor).

Trisha has decorated our porch and mantels for Christmas and made our home festive and beautiful every time. She has also created excellent kitchen and flower gardens for us. She's creative and knowledgeable and her work grows opulently all summer!

Commented: Name of the wooden pods with holes in themYes, those are lotus pods. These have a coating of moss on them and they are dried, so they last a long time. They grow in ponds, but you can buy the pods from any craft or floral supply shop.

Commented: Need similar branchesThey are painted birch branches. You get them from a florist wholesale supply place in bunches. Usually only available in winter around the holidays.

Commented: Do these flowers also help to keep pests away?Yes! They are African Marigolds which emit the chemical thiopene from their roots. Thiopene has been proven to repel nematodes, which feed on the roots of plants like tomatoes.

Commented: To put greenery in planters for Christmas do you need dirt in pots?Yes, or you can use Oasis cubes (from a florist) for indoor greenery arrangements. The cut fresh greens still need water to stay fresh.
