I have known Peter since our days together in the Landscape Architecture Dept, , School of Design, in the 60's. In reviewing his professional work since his return to the Triangle Area, it is clear that he has maintained his high level of artistic talent, methodical articulation, and technical competence in his work. From our days in school, Peter marched to his own drum. There is nothing artificial or trivial about his professional designs. There is a freshness and elegance thathe has achieved throughout his career.

Your design knowledge and artistic talents were key to the success of our project. The views from our windows from the inside looking out are such a nice complement to our interior designer’s work indoors. Your thoughtful design carried through the look of the inside to the outside. We now have a beautifully integrated home and garden – everyone who comes over asks who our designers are! We couldn’t be more pleased.

I combed the internet looking for a landscape architect in my area with experience in contemporary-natural looks that were easy to maintain. I wanted a design that would complement the woodland views surrounding my home. Most designers specialized in traditional-formal styles and looks that were just too fussy for my tastes. Peter understood exactly what I wanted and proceeded to create a master plan that I knew was right for me the first time I saw it. I really enjoyed Peter’s creativity and knowledge with taming the slopes on my property. What was once an awkward unusable space is now a meandering stone pathway that crosses a dry stream which looks like it’s always been there and takes me through a planted wonderland with color in all four seasons. Even though my new contemporary – shaped stone patio with a firepit is the ideal place to entertain, there still is a peaceful Zen-like feeling to my outdoor space. On the practical side, the soggy areas near the foundation of my home are now completely dry. Peter coordinated the installation of the project as well. He brought in a highly- skilled contractor who followed the detailed plans that Peter had created. Even though I requested some changes during the process, Peter and the contractor always worked with me to make sure I was satisfied. At first I was hesitant to have this additional service Peter offered, but I really appreciated having him there taking care of the details, managing changes and informing us as the project progressed. It gave me peace-of-mind, and I know the design wouldn’t have turned out as elegantly had I not had Peter follow it through the installation process. Peter’s artistic sensibilities created a paradise that I never could have envisioned. I received excellent service as well as design. I’d recommend Peter Bochenek and Associates for any size project – large or small. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

It was such a pleasure working with Peter and Gay. Right from the first design they presented me with, I could see that they really got what I wanted with my backyard redesign. They completely took into account my likes and dislikes, the functions that I needed the space to perform and turned the limitations of my property into assets.
