The assignment: build a landscape that is water wise and easy to maintain as we age. We needed trees! We asked for and got a simple design to fit our mid century territorial. Radicle selected native grasses, native bushes and a number of trees. Buffalo grass went in for the courtyard lawn. One year in place and we are transformed. The neighbors cannot believe the transformation and say so.

My wife and I wanted to landscape our approximately 1-3/4 acre property in New Mexico after having completed our interior home improvements. We solicited quotes from 4 landscaping firms, including Radicle / Christie Green. After interviewing contractors and comparing quotes and design proposals we chose Radicle. We couldn't have been happier with our choice. What sold us most on Christie was her superior design skill coupled with her encyclopedic knowledge of xeric-compatible plants and their water and sunlight needs. As our property is on the side of a hill, erosion control and sensible water sequestration to reduce city water consumption were priorities for us. Christie's expertise in these areas led to well-functioning solutions at reasonable cost. Christie works with a number of high-quality sub-contractors, who were part of this project. Christie and all of her subs were a real pleasure to work with - they were pleasant people, worked hard, were accommodating with schedule and design changes, and worked around another contractor we hired for hardscape installation (Christie did the design). Budget, as in most projects, was a critical factor. We wanted to do the full "platinum" design but our pocketbook did not allow for this. Christie worked with us to modify the design and planting scheme to pare down the costs to the point that it was both affordable and delivered substantially what we wanted. In the end we met the deadline of having all of the planting and irrigation complete before the first frost of the season. Everything is dormant now and covered by a bit of snow, but we will post pictures of the results when things start growing again in the spring. We confidently recommend Christie Green / Radicle to anyone who is looking for high-quality landscape design and installation, especially where water is limited and xeric-compatible plants are required.

Christie Green, owner of radicle, has been my landscape designer for about 10 years. We began when the house on our 2.5 acre property had just been completed. We worked in stages because I did not have the funds to do everything at once, but also because we wanted to let the gardens and orchard evolve at a gradual pace. We began with infrastructure like the water catchment system, retaining walls, waterfall and pond, stone steps and pathways and raised beds for the edible garden. Later came trees and perennials, leaning heavily on drought resistant varieties to conserve the use of water. Every year we plant an edible garden that sends wonderful veggies into the kitchen and our fruit trees and vines produce the ingredients for some great pies. Christie has been fabulous to work with, knowledgeable, creative and professional. It is clear that she loves what she does and it shows up in the end result.
