We couldn’t be happier that we discovered Fred at Scancelli Landscapes. We’ve landscaped multiple yards now and will be going to Fred on any future landscaping projects. We came to Fred with our vision and our budget. He was friendly, responsive and listened to what we wanted. Since he only does design work (as opposed to design-build/contractor) there was no pressure to do add-ons or upgrades. Fred listened and gave suggestions but if it didn’t work for us then he would just adjust the design to fit. Fred visited our house so we could explain in detail what we were thinking. We did multiple iterations, of which he created 3D designs to help us better visualize how it would look. Once we had the general concept down, he then went with us to the nursery to pick out our plants. Once the plants were finalized, he then created a final iteration showcasing the layout along with the plants we had chosen! Then he sent us the drawings in digital format and dropped off hard copies for submittal to our HOA. We were very excited and satisfied with Fred’s communication and ability to put our vision into an actual design. At this point we thought his work was done, but he wasn’t done – far from it! After approval of the design by the HOA, Fred recommended multiple contractors that he had worked with in the past so that we could bid the work out and find the right one for us. Throughout the bidding process, Fred kept in touch with us and asked how the process was coming along and if his referrals were working out. We did go with one of his referrals, and the work was completed about as perfectly as we could expect. Fred even came out to meet with the contractor and make sure that they understood his designs. In our mind Fred’s work was done a long time ago but he still wanted to see it through to the end. Once the work was done Fred came out one last time to see the finished job. We’ve left other positive reviews for contractors in the past but our experience with Fred left us in awe. Thank you, Fred, for making a generally stressful experience become a positive and enjoyable one. We appreciate how easy it was to share our vision, your excellent communication and perhaps most of all your going above and beyond to make sure we were happy!

I would highly recommend Fred for all your landscape/hardscape design needs. His knowledge when it comes to all the rules and regulations set forth by the HOAs is impressive. He was easy to work with, very understanding and did a great job listening and being able to execute a design based on what I told him I wanted.

Fred is simply wonderful. He was able to take my ideas and bring them to life. He really listened well to what I wanted. He also had great ideas when I wasn't sure what I wanted. He was professional, always on time, responsive, and very patient. We had to go back and forth on details and I changed my mind a few times and he just made the changes without any issue. He considered the plantings based on the sun/ water needs. His prices are very reasonable. He has a lot of experience with design and plants and it shows in his work. He is friendly and easy to work with. I can't recommend him enough. I am so excited to see our new yard design come to life!

Fred is an amazing landscape designer. He came up with a creative design for our backyard with 2-wall extending fountain, dining table with water fountain in the middle, barbecue grill and patio cover. He knows where to get the best trees, plants, and everything you need. I would highly recommend him.

A big shoutout to Fred at Scancelli Landscapes for a fantastic design for our backyard remodel. We had a 30 year old yard with numerous queen palms and lots of tired flagstone. Fred created a chic, modern space with lots of comfortable areas for dining, cooking and viewing our beautiful sunsets. He was easy to work with, always returning phone calls and emails promptly. He listened patiently to what we wanted and made suggestions and worked with us till we had a design we were very excited about. His 3D videos helped us immeasurable to actually visualize what the project would ultimately look like. We just had a holiday party for our neighbors and our yard got rave reviews.

Let me just start by saying that Fred is great!!! I got Fred's connect via a referral from a friend when we were looking for a designer to help us with the landscape design for our new home. I reached out to him and he was very responsive and we met at the property which was still under construction at the time. I explained to him the initial plan we had and what we wanted to do and how we wanted to use the space. He shared pictures of the landscapes he had designed and asked me to send him some pictures of what we liked online and in a few weeks he came up with 2 designs for us to review. He sent us the virtual rendering of the 2 designs within a few weeks. Once we reviewed the designs we met with Fred again and picked elements that we liked from the 2 designs for the final design. He also spent 4-5 hours with us at a local nursery to help us pick all the plants for our space which was especially helpful since we didn't know much about plants. Next we spend a few days choosing the hardscape tiles and Fred was also very helpful with that selection process and he recommended stores to visit. By this time we had moved in and he came to our house and spent a good amount of time with us helping us narrowing down what will work with our home and the design. Once we had decided on the material we would use he made a final design and generated all the detailed plans that we would need for the city and HOA approvals. Fred also recommended a few contractors that he has worked with in the past and who he thought would be good to execute the design. He also helped us submit the plans for the HOA approval and later helped the contractor with the city approvals when the city needed additional information/documents. We are very happy with Fred, he is very knowledgeable and a great designer. He has a lot of experience and points out potential pitfalls and design elements that can become a problem either from an implementation point of view or from a city/HOA approval standpoint. He is a very nice person and super easy to work with. He listens to your ideas and concerns and addresses them in a very timely manner. I found his prices also very reasonable and he is just very good at what he does. I highly recommend him if you are looking for a landscape designer.

We recently did a complete landscape renovation of our front and back yards and the absolute beat decision we made was enlisting the help of Fred from Scancelli Landscape Design. It took some time to get the initial appointment with Fred, but he was so worth the wait! Fred is incredibly professional, easy to work with and kept us focused and moving forward. He helped us figure out what we wanted in our design. Fred then provided us with not one but two completely implementable designs that incorporated those wants. He also shared videos of those designs which were vital for my husband and I to truly “see” the possibilities. The finished plans are incredibly detailed which made hiring a contractor so much easier. Fred also helped my husband and I when it came to ideas for materials. He would reply to my many emails with very thoughtful responses and I really valued his opinion. Our end result greatly benefitted from his input! Fred even stayed in touch well after his job was done which is a testament to the pride he takes in his designs. In my opinion if you are taking on a landscape project you should absolutely try to work with Fred. We love our new yard and it never would have been possible without him!

We hired Fred to help us design our front and backyard after we purchased a new home. He quickly connected with us, came to our house, listened to what we wanted, and provided a few designs. We were blown away by how he managed to get all of the features we wanted into the small space we have. We went back and forth a few times and merged his amazing ideas into one final design, including a sunken entertainment and BBQ space, with a firepit against the pool. It's the one feature that everyone loves. Fred also spent time with us picking out plants and coordinating changes with our contractor. I have already recommended Scancelli Landscapes, and will continue to do so. If you have a project that you need professional designs and plans for, you can't go wrong with the time, energy, dedication, and skill that Fred will bring to your project.

We hired Fred to redesign our entire yard ... and he did an incredible job! He is incredibly knowledgable about plants, understands landscaping and hardscaping, and was able to align our objectives to create a truly amazing environments throughout the yard. All of the plants he chose have matured wonderfully and now our yard is now a wonderful space to bbq, entertain, and just relax! And most importantly, Fred is an amazingly kind and generous human being who we adore! It's been a true pleasure to work with him this project.

Fred is wonderful to work with. He's a true professional and really cares about the interest of his customers. Working with him took the stress out of the process. The plant selection and layout is wonderful. His recommendation of lighting has just the right touch to enjoy viewing in the evenings as well. We're approaching one year since the yard was completed and the plants are really filling in and creating a setting that we can relax and enjoy.

We were first introduced to Fred after we saw the amazing design he did for my son and daughter in law in Ladera Ranch. Fred came to our home and asked all the right questions. He presented us with two designs and we incorporated ideas from both to come up with our perfect plan.
