I had a great experience working with Chris Horwath and Dan Henslee from Weiss Landscaping. Living Outdoors Landscapes did the design and Chris and Dan did the execution of our backyard. Our house is a 2nd home and we were not there when they did the work. We didn’t have to worry about anything, we totally trusted them and everything was done very professionally and in time. We were very happy with the result and got a lot of compliments from neighbors. They were very helpful afterwards, answering questions and even replacing some plants that didn’t do so well. They also added some cages and adjusted others at no extra cost.

Weiss has done a terrific job redoing sprinklers and partial landscaping of our front and back yards. Consultation with Chris was superb. The work went well, even while we were gone. The entire team was polite and professional. Followup of issues was beyond the guarantee and could not have been better. Dan and Tony are customer focused and get the job done. Thank you Weiss for a job well done.

Our backyard was a disaster... neglected while lacking any connection with the house. We had used Weiss Landscaping Inc for the front yard a year ago for a complete makeover and are still thrilled with the results. After much planning the backyard is done and is gorgeous! The end result far exceeded our expectations. The night scape is stunning! We could not be happier. We have found the crews at Weiss to be professional while going above and beyond. I don’t even know where to begin! We have had the worst, most disappointing, most discouraging landscaping year from absolute hell! Without writing a book about the awful experiences we’ve had with other landscapers I’ll just say that my biggest mistake and my biggest regret was not going with Weiss to begin with. These guys are the real experts and the true craftsman of landscaping (everything from your basic planting and irrigation to the fine art of rock walls and water features) so if you’re looking for people who know what they’re doing and who are going to do the job right (the first time!), who are not only skilled but talented in both the art and science of landscaping, who are professional, reliable and fast, who are incredibly kind, generous and who care a great deal about you and the work they do these are your guys!! There wasn’t a single person we worked with at Weiss whether they were consulting on a job, bidding a job or doing the job that didn’t outperform every other person we’ve hired this past year. We couldn’t be happier, finally! They truly are the best and they couldn’t come more highly recommend!

Are you new to Nevada County and not sure whom to trust in the landscape business? Well I have lived here for over 20 years and still wasn't sure of who to trust-just got lucky. Weiss helped me develope a plan, told me exactly what each phase would cost, finished when they said they would, and gave me a foreman who listened to everything I asked for and made it happen: Drew Horwath! Drew integrated my old sprinklers with the new and was there to tweak it when needed. Since I put in new lawn in heat of summer, he came by almost every day to make sure sod got the exact amount it needed! He took over my sprinklers for three -four weeks after project was completed and paid for to maker sure the grass settled in. He is also replacing plants that didn't make it well a month after project paid for. He has gained my trust and admiration for doing such a good, clean job! Drew has also set me up with four times a year sprinkler maintenance so that I water efficiently. I have someone who knows what they're doing if something goes wrong! Thank you Weiss Landscaping for giving me such a beautiful yard and peace of mind!

Weiss Landscape did an amazing job. From design to instal they were efficient, timely, professional and worked to make our vision a reality. I would highly recommend them to family, friends and neighbors.

The Project – The project involved trenching, placing conduit, and backfilling by Weiss Landscaping for installation of an automated control center, an automobile motion detector and floodlights, by an electrical contractor, for nighttime illumination of the driveway. Planning – Weiss Landscaping management (Chris Horwath) was actively involved with me, as owner, in coordination with the electrical contractor, to assure that the contractor's needs, and my needs would be met. The trenching route was complicated by the need to cross a buried propane line and several irrigation lines. The agreed upon trenching route was clearly marked prior to the trenching crew's arrival. The planning was so well done that the electrical contractor did not have to visit the jobsite until after the trenching was completed. Punctuality – The trenching crew (three persons, including the lead person) was on the job as scheduled. Competence – The trenching crew clearly knew what they were doing. Chris Horwath visited the jobsite to get them started. Professionalism – The trenching crew was very careful not to damage other lines that needed to be crossed and to follow the planned route. As an example of their professionalism, they asked me to contact the electrical contractor and find out which direction the electrical wires would be pulled so they would be able to glue the conduit together in the proper way. Later, the electrical contractor said this was very helpful and an uncommonly professional practice for a landscaping contractor to follow. Personality – The trenching team were all very friendly and a pleasure to work with. Cleanup – I was surprised to see the lengths to crew took to clean the site up before leaving. Criticisms – None.

We just completed the landscaping in our front yard, removing a large lawn and replacing it with drought resistant plantings. Adam Weiss met with us several times and incorporated our ideas and wishes into his design while remaining within our budget. His crew is diligent, dependable and very professional in attitude and appearance. They were enthusiastic, committed and knowledgeable about our project. The work was completed in a timely fashion and the followup has been excellent. Weiss Landscaping has provided us with a maintenance guide and suggestions, along with a contact person to answer any questions or concerns. We highly recommend Weiss Landscaping - their pricing is very competitive and they provide exceptional value for the money.

Where do I start? Weiss Landscaping was nothing short of fantastic. We did a complete remodel inside and outside of our Alta Sierra vacation home. Weiss was the project manager for the all of the outdoor landscape work. They did the demolition. irrigation, lighting, plant selection and installation and handled the overall design of the project. They subcontracted for fencing, concrete and masonry. Chris Horwath was a top notch designer and client liaison. His brother Drew served as the on-site crew manager. What a one-two combination. They always kept us up to speed on schedule and budget issues, and found creative ways to work around problems. Chris was able to design the new yard so that it worked around some tricky existing conditions and really took advantage of the setting and the view. The final product was just spectacular. We couldn't be more thrilled. We would recommend Weiss in a heartbeat!
