Had a wonderful experience with Sage Pool, Scapes and Design. From the time I initially reached out to Rene through embedding of the final plant for our project, Rene and his team were professional in every sense of the word. They prepared an eye-catching vision and landscape design for our entire back yard, a detailed plan that was meticulously executed as promised and on time, and throughout displayed an attention to detail that I have rarely if ever encountered with respect to any home project. Rene did not just listen to our needs and deliver on the resulting design, he exceeded ALL expectations. I am delighted with the final product and have been showered with compliments from everyone who has seen Rene’s excellent work. He has my highest recommendation!

Everything about working with Rene and the Sage team exceeded expectations. From the initial appointment, to the design and estimate, all the way through completion. The project timeline was communicated well and the project was completed ON TIME AND ON BUDGET. the crews that came to do the work were great about keeping the job site clean and spent time every day cleaning up before they left. Our yard looks amazing and is designed to be incredible low maintenance. Rene’s passion for the work he does and his expertise in knowing exactly what to place where to achieve his vision is what makes him so amazing at what he does. Five stars, highly recommend. Will absolutely work with Sage every time I have an opportunity in the future. If I have one complaint, it’s that I’m now even more mad about all the sub-par contractors I’ve worked with recently and people saying “that’s just how it is when you work with the trades, when you do home projects”. There IS a higher standard of customer care out there, and companies that really do care about the service they provide and the work they do. Sage is setting the bar pretty high!

Rene (pronounced Rin-ee, not Re-nay) and his crew did a fantastic job of installing a drain system around my house. The job included connecting about 10 downspouts to the underground drain with popups at the street curb. Rene made regular visits to the site during the 3-day job to ensure everything was going according to plan, and his crew worked long hours with surgical precision completing the digging and piping installation BY HAND, not equipment that could damage the yard or shallow gas or fiber optic lines. I was impressed with the fact that they showed up each day when they said they would, seemingly a rarity these days with contractors and companies. The crew not only wrapped up the project a day early, but power washed the entire site area. Rene ensured the sprinkler system worked properly at the end of the job as well to make sure the heads cleared sod and no leaks were caused by their work. He answered everything question asked and freely provided inspiration landscaping design suggestions. Rene's work is a little costly, but keep in mind that you're not paying a handyman - you're paying a specialist in his field for his expertise, and you don't want a drain installation done without it. I don't have pics of the finished project as of this review, but it looks absolutely beautiful. My wife and I anticipate inviting Rene back to our house for future projects!

My fiancé and I had been wanting to redo our backyard for a while, but had no idea where to start, so we decided to bring in Sage Scapes & Design for their expertise. Rene responded to the inquiry we submitted the following day, and scheduled a date to come out and take a look at what we were working with. During our meeting, he reviewed our site survey to determine how far back our easement went, discussed what our budget was for the renovation, and threw out some ideas to get a feel for what we would be interested in doing. We mainly wanted something that would be low maintenance, and left the designing to Rene. The design took about a week to be completed, and we went through a few rounds of adjustments based on my feedback before settling on a final version. Once that was done, a date for construction was set, and Jesus and his crew got to work. There were some delays due to rainy days and a freeze, but outside of that, the team worked tirelessly to make sure that the project was completed in a timely manner. When everything was complete, the crew made sure to clean up any messes made, and when my fiancé and I had a few questions and concerns, Jesus and Rene promptly and patiently addressed all of them. Overall, I would highly recommend the Sage Scapes and Design team for all your landscaping needs. They handle projects from small to large, and can work with the budget that you have. Their communication was consistent throughout the entire process, and we are so glad we went through with this project. Thanks to the team, we now have an aesthetically pleasing backyard to enjoy for years to come.

The team from Sage Scapes and Design completed a patio extension and spray deck, decorative walls, a side yard walkway, and several planters in my rear yard on time and within the quoted budget. The team worked in a professional manner and put in long hours to ensure the project was completed on time. The elapsed time from start to finish was 8 days. I would recommend Rene and his team for any landscaping project as it is clear they have the skills to deliver a quality product.

Exceeded expectations from beginning to end both in terms of time and doing what’s promised. Attention to finer details is where the magic is. Rene has a knack to map together bits and pieces of the desires of the customer and put together one incredible design of synergy. The company and the crew were always one step ahead through all phases of the project. The crew is courteous and knowledgeable.

We had landscape work done last winter - updating our front yard completely and landscaping our back yard around our new pool in the back. Only 3 stars for me: mostly hits but some disappointing misses, especially at this price. First, lots to like. Rene is very enthusiastic, presents his ideas clearly and was easy to stay in touch with during the project. All the hardscaping work was implemented well and looks great. The majority of the plants selected by Rene lasted over the winter or are bouncing back. His right-hand man, Jesus, is very easy to work with too. I especially appreciated Rene and Jesus offering new suggestions or making small changes that I requested after the contract was agreed and at no extra cost. The front and back yard looked amazing immediately after planting. Lots of complements from the neighbors. Three main issues. 1) plant selection - the cold took out some plants the first weekend, others are still clearly struggling perhaps because of the shady areas they’ve been planted in. 2) project timing - especially planting late January. I don’t mind putting a bit of effort into protecting plants and maintaining the beds but didn’t expect to be replacing plants so soon. 3) The stone borders out the front were an important feature for me but ended up being a compromise reflecting more what Rene wanted than what I had in mind. If you select with Sage, make sure the contract is exactly what you want for anything important. Make sure the plant selections are appropriate. Push back on anything you’re not comfortable with.

***Fantastic Service, Great Communication, Beautiful Design, Trustworthy, and Quick Turnaround!*** Scope of the project: We needed a company that can design and install a pool with an outdoor living area with landscaping. We did a ton of research by asking for referrals from friends, going through home magazines, and looking for top pool companies online before selecting Sage Scapes & Design. We inquired through 10 companies and 4 provided us quotes. To put it in perspective, below were the type of quotes that we obtained. 1) One company that went beyond our budget with a mock-up design after we explicity told them what our budget was. Basically the company did not listen to anything we said. 2) A company came out to view the site, but never came back to provide us a quote because he got too busy working on other contracts. He didn't follow-up with us until 4 weeks later which we already made a decision with a company. 3) A company that was within our budget to provide what we needed, but the design and products that were being utilized was too simple and basic. Also, the budget did not include landscaping. 4) Then there was Sage Scapes & Design. I found them through Houzz and loved their designs and photos on the website. Then I sent in an inquiry. 30 mins later I received a call from the owner. After a 15 min conversation, based on his background and experience, we knew this was a company that we wanted to look into further that provided the one stop solution that we were looking for. His company offered design and support staff/contractors to do the pool, outdoor living, and landscaping. More information on Sage Scapes & Design and how everything was processed. - The owner was very communicative and professional from the start. We provided the scope of the project and our budget. Then he came out to inspect the location within the same week and provided us a 3D mock-up design for review within a couple of weeks. We were completely blown away by his design as well as being able to accomodate our budget to give us everything we were asking for. The project overall took 4 months to complete without any major hiccups. The owner was the project manager through the entire process and communicated as much as needed and made sure everything was on schedule. Also, we were able to pick out all the color pallets which was a fun process for my husband and I. He had his crew on all pieces of the project aligned and insynced from the beginning where their was hardly any down time for materials or staff. We had a final walkthrough to make sure all the details were in place and if there wasn't, the owner made sure to accomodate what needed to be adjusted. During this time, we had friends that were waiting over 6 months to complete their pools. We were very fortunate that we found Sage Scapes & Design and highly recommend this company.

Rene and his team are absolutely the best! We were looking for the pool builder to transform our backyard into the tropical oasis, and we are so happy that we found him! From the very first call and up until the completion of our project, Rene provided the highest quality of service and the best attention to detail. He is always on top of things, all necessary orders were placed on time, all inspections were scheduled and went smoothly, all crews were very professional. Rene is very hands on, he personally visited the project many times to make sure everything was going as planned. We loved the initial rendering, and we were amazed to see that the end result turned out to be even better than what we anticipated! Rene and his team did such a wonderful job in helping us create our dream front yard paradise. From concept to final construction, they were true professionals. From the beginning, Rene listened to our ideas, incorporated his expertise and magic touch, and it became reality. Jesus came by onsite and added some ideas to the type of plants, lighting and tree trimming, which helps so much because he walked us though some of Rene’s vision. During the construction process, Jesus engaged us to make sure we like what we were getting, his crew were very professional and did a good job cleaning it after each day. Jesus listened to us when we needed some adjustments to the plans and implemented it to our satisfaction. Rene, Jesus, and their team were great to work with throughout the entire process and we are absolutely over the moon with the finished product! We weren't really sure what exactly we wanted for our backyard design, but just knew we wanted some privacy screening without completely blocking out the natural tree-filled backdrop behind us. Upon our first meeting with Rene, we really liked all the different plants/ideas he was throwing around and were very eager to see what he would come up with - and boy were we blown away! His design far exceeded our expectations and made us realize that we didn't just want to do something "basic" but instead something that would really accentuate our view and "pop". The variety of plants he picked for our yard all looked really healthy and offer many different foliage colors/textures and a few pops of color that come together in a beautifully curated collection - not to mention the stunning steel planters that contrast all the natural greenery! We LOVE our design and it's definitely enhanced our backyard experience so far, can't wait to continue to enjoy it as everything matures into our very own oasis! Not going to lie, we did hit a few bumps in the road with a couple issues that arose that were out of their control, and while it was a bit of a roller coaster in the moment, they handled everything really well and got it taken care of timely and most importantly got it done the "right" way instead of cutting corners or taking the easy way out. Rene drew up a beautiful design that I loved! Time line was on point and job completed a little early. Rene communicated with me daily and text pictures when I had to work and couldn’t be home. Rene answered all my questions and alleviated my fears. All of the landscaping in the front, sides, and back yard look amazing. The stamped concrete patio in the back and all of the stone work looks even better than I expected. Rene’s follow through on the job was great. I obtained other bids, but Rene was the only person who followed through and it was a big job. You absolutely cannot go wrong with Rene and his team. PS: they also fixed my sprinkler system and my neighbor’s fence so his dogs wouldn’t get in my yard.

I moved into a house that had not been occupied for about a year. The lawn was dead, and out of compliance with HOA requirements. The first thing I did was hire Sage Scapes and Design to review the situation and make recommendations. The design, thoughtfully created by Rene Vereecken (the owner of Sage Scapes & Design), was totally awesome. I have two dogs, and Rene's design eliminated the muddy side yards, through the use of rocks and concrete slabs, which not only takes care of the muddy pawprints, but looks great! They replaced all of the grass and plants in the front yard with colorful plants and a new tree, creating synergy that has garnered many compliments from my neighbors. I wish everyone could see the back yard, which is so beautiful, I keep going out there just to spend time looking at it. It is truly a work of art. They performed the work in two phases, accommodating my schedule and budget. They also replaced my out-of-date sprinkler system control panel with one that actually works. I am so happy I engaged them for not only the landscaping, but also routine lawn maintenance, which they consistently perform with care and consideration.

Most people ignored my request or were not interested in the project as it was considered “too small” not only did Rene answer me back, he communicated with me very conveniently through text, showed up at my home at my convenience, and then proceeded to complete the project way sooner than expected. Rene is an ARTIST! If I could give Rene and his firm 10 stars, I would. We started with a vision that Rene brought to life. He took his time to listen to what we wanted, brainstormed some ideas, and then came back with a plan. The plan had elements that I wasn't quite sure how they would fit in the overall plan, but trusted him to make it happen, and boy, did he! His team was not only talented, but thorough and fast! This is the second project Sage Scapes and Design has completed for us and we are so happy with their work again. They put in a new stone path to match the one they put in a year ago. Finding the exact matching stone was not easy but they called all over Texas and were able to get the same stones. They always are willing to go above and beyond to finish the job the correct way. They also put in all new sod in the front yard, added a beautiful cedar boarder and Kiddie Cush around our children’s play space and re-mulched all the beds. Rene and his team are so easy to work with. They are knowledgeable, hard working, responsive and efficient. I am so glad we found such a great Landscape and Design company to work with and we will definitely be using them for our future projects!

I really, really wanted a xeric design for my backyard. I had a hard time finding a landscaper who understood what I envisioned and was willing to do it. I spent a few minutes telling Rene what I was thinking and he was immediately on board. He came up with a beautiful design within my budget. Once they had the plants and rocks, the project was completed in one day. I was so pleased, I hired him for my regular landscaping. I can't wait to get started on the front yard!

Rene and his crew did an outstanding job on my landscaping design and installation for roughly a 1.5 acre property, which I recently built a home. The design included sod, plants, mature trees, rock bed, sprinkler system, and etc. The work is fabulous and even neighbors commented on how beautiful the landscape looked. I also feel obligated to let everyone know how honest, genuine, and respectful Rene was during the entire process. He was always available to answer questions and provide quality feedback. With contractors honesty seems to be a rare, not with Rene! No hidden gimmicks and finished job on time and also did things that I didn’t expect him to do. Before hiring I spoke with other landscapers that also had high reviews. In the end Rene and his team is who seemed the most genuine and truthfully cares about the clients more than the project. WOW! Rene and his team did an AMAZING job at our home! We had almost all of our landscaping redone, as well as stamped concrete poured on our back patio. Rene assisted with a sprinkler and irrigation problem they had discovered along the way, and he set up the watering schedule for us on our sprinkler system. Needless to say, we were impressed from start to finish and it could not have turned out more beautiful! Sage Scapes and Design was recommended to me by a neighbor and I couldn’t be happier with the result! Rene and his crew put in 6 different zones of sprinklers, fixed our drainage issue by re-routing everything underground with french drains, extended our driveway, and redesigned our front bed by moving all of the existing plants to the backyard and planting all new, low maintenance plants for us in the front. He was professional, courteous, and worked within our budget and expectations. We will be using him again for our backyard project, which will include building out a back patio with a covering and possibly a built in kitchen. We’ve also kept his company on to maintain the yard for us. Overall, very pleased with the full service package he offers!

My family has been saving and mulling over doing something with our backyard for a couple years now, and we finally decided to get some quotes. Our backyard is a small space that needs room for both adults and children. Immediately, Rene had a vision for our backyard that sounded perfect. He extended our patio and improved it with a stamp. Additionally he put bull rock and small plants along the side of the house since the area always gets soggy and looked drab. Flower beds were also installed along the fence with some pretty roses and other green bushes to add some color and life. Rene included a little garden for my kids to do their own thing, and surrounded it with some pretty purple plants to always keep it looking nice. The detailed design and quote were given overnight with an outstanding timeline for completion. He made sure that everything was completed with the utmost attention to detail and schedule. All debris and mess was hauled away, and we now have our own little oasis to enjoy. The idea of what we wanted for our backyard has been exceeded. As a person, Rene is incredibly friendly, and as a designer, he has a great eye. I am recommending Sage Scapes & Design to anyone looking to improve, maintain, or upgrade their yard. Thank you!

Sage Scapes did an excellent job on our yard. They took our overgrown, sadly neglected yard and made it beautiful. Rene and his team came in and salvaged the bushes they could by bringing them back to their original shape. They removed some trees that were too far past their prime and replaced them with beautiful, perfectly shaped trees. Since I don't know anything about trees and shrubs, I let him decide what to put in. It looks wonderful. Rene was a pleasure to work with.
