I am an Architect and I recently purchased a 1910, four square, cedar siding house in Cleveland Heights. The house was fading badly, had severe peeling, blistering and even some heavy alligator cracking in parts.
I am very much a do it yourselfer, but this house needs so much work inside and out, that I just don't have time to do it all. I don't like to hire persons to perform work for me, because I am a bit of a perfectionist and it seems like whenever i do hire someone to perform work for me i am always disappointed.
Fortunately, the neighbor across the street from me had their house painted just prior to me. Since I work from home, I was able to watch the painters as they prepped and painted the house. I have to say that I was extremely impressed by the amount of prep work that Lifestyle Painting performed on the house across the street. It's one thing to see the final product, but the prep work is the most important part of repainting a house, and you can't tell looking at the finished product how long it is going to last.
I knew after watching Lifestyle Painting work that i wanted them to paint my house, but i was nervous that the price was going to be much more than i wanted to spend. I read reviews online and decide on four contractors that i was going to solicited quotes from. Of the four quotes i received,Lifestyle was the second lowest quote. i rejected the lowest quote though, because the painter quoted spot priming the exterior only whereas the other three painters all quoted priming of the entire house. As you can imagine,, I was thrilled with the price and i hired Lifestyle painting.
After talking with the Owner Pete, i found out that he had also painted several other houses on my street, including my next door neighbors. The next door neighbors house looked to me like it had been painted very recently, but I found out later from my neighbors that they had their house painted over seven years ago, and it still looks great. This discovery gave me even more confidence that i had selected the right contractor and was going to get a long lasting paint job.
The painters were all exceptionally nice guys and were all very respectful and hard working. Working from home, i got to see them everyday, and i could tell that most of the guys were seasoned painters and had been working in the trade for awhile.
The job is complete now, and the house looks great, I went around the house to inspect the job when it was complete, and the house didn't need a single touch-up. The painter did a good job of protecting the items that i didn't want painted, like my roof and the stone foundation etc. The painters did a good job cleaning up, and they left me the extra paint that they did not use even though the house that they were going to paint next selected the same colors as my house.
I could go on and on about how good these guys are and how accommodating Pete was during the process. Believe me, Lifestyle Painting is the contractor that you want to hire. I would certainly hire them again.
