Marcelino Custom Finishes

We are in the middle of redecorating the interior of our home. We have 4 beams (fabricated foam core) in the Great Room that needed to be refreshed, to expose the grain, knot holes and other rustic imperfections found in natural wood. We commissioned Marcelino of Marcelino Custom Finishes after seeing all of the 5 star reviews, examples of his work and a sample of the faux finish he prepared for our project. You could tell it was as important to him (if not more), as us, to have the beams look like real wood. He has a passion that is reflected in all his work leading up to the finished project. His attention to: our vision, paint preparation, cleanup and execution, of what can only be described as a “work of art”, exceeded our expectations. We would absolutely commission him again for future work in the pipeline! I have provided before and after pictures.

My husband and I are remodeling our home both in the interior and exterior. We are working with several companies and a contractor. The experience we had with Marcelino and his crew was outstanding on every level. They repainted our kitchen and family room cabinets. The work was completed on time. The cleanup was immaculate. Their attention to detail (filling in cracks, smoothing imperfections, adjusting the cabinets when needed) was beyond our expectations. They did a great job protecting our furniture etc so nothing was damaged. I was also very impressed by the fact that his crew was either on time or early everyday (6 days)!!! I’ve never experienced that before. Marcelino stopped by several times during the project to make sure everything was progressing as planned and inspected the quality of work as well. We would hire him again in a heartbeat!

Marcelino and his talented team have helped us turn a lovey house into an even more beautiful home. He totally transformed our old kitchen cabinets into something beautiful, our 1980's dull built-ins to something that looks like beautiful furniture and brought back the gorgeous architectural elements of our home with just the right colors and finishes. He and his team are talented, professional and a pure pleasure to work with. We simply cannot recommend him enough. We keep hiring for project after project.

Recently our family began a remodel project on our residence in downtown San Diego. Given the building we live in represents some of the most expensive real estate in California, we were very particular on our choice of artisans. We received bids from a select-few vendors. Our designer-extraordinaire (Mary Kellejian from Polo Bay Interiors in Solana Beach), brought in Marcelino Custom Finishes. Marcelino and his team did an exceptional job from start to finish. They arrived at the job site each and every day- on time. Their work; meticulous. Their attention to detail; spot-on. Their work ethic; amazing; Their technical expertise as it relates all types of finishes on all sorts of surfaces; impressive. Their pricing; very competitive.

Marcelino and his team are artistically detail oriented. We needed some creative painting done in our condo. They collaborated to create a blend of color, texture, and technique to bring together a sense of warmth and sophistication into our living spaces. I appreciate their integrity throughout the entire project. They were here when they said they would be, and completed the job in a timely manner. While they were painting it was clear that their focus was absolute, and their excitement in the finished work was exemplified by ours!

We have worked with Marcelino on numerous projects over the past 2 years, including a full repaint of our kitchen cabinets, a makeover of our interior staircase and fireplaces, exterior iron and front door work, etc. He always does an outstanding job. His work is beautiful...he's a true artist. He completely transformed our kitchen in our last home and it sold in 3 days! He and his team are real professionals. During our first meeting, I knew Marcelino was the craftsman I was looking for. He has such great vision and creativity. Marcelino is a true artist. My kitchen looks like a very expensive custom kitchen. The cabinets are just stunning. But more importantly, the employees that worked on our job were polite, professional and truly took pride in their work. Marcelino is very professional. He visited our job daily, checked in with me and his crew. Kitchens are tricky when you have you have children, but they made sure we had access for breakfast and dinner. Our project was finished on time, within budget, and professionally handled. We are now moving forward with our stair case and fireplace projects with Marcelino Custom Finishes.

We had our cabinets stained back in July and I couldn't be more pleased. Marcelino was a pleasure to work with and extremely professional. Most of the bids I received, the person would come in, count the cabinets and give me a quote, not Marcelino, he actually took the time to tell me about his business, show me pictures of previous work he had done and go over the process of what would happen if I hired him. I was very impressed. The two gentlemen that worked on my cabinets were amazing. Jorge and Everett were friendly, polite, informative and professional. They did an excellent job with every detail.
