California Pools of Southern Utah

California Pools completed my project here in Saint George in March of 2022. We did a concrete 36 x 16 rectangular pool with a "shamoo shelf" (a large wet deck a few inches below the water line), heater, upgraded plaster, and Intellichem which automatically maintains water chemistry. The pool was exactly what we contracted for and on time. CA Pools was very helpful in the design process. A concrete pool offers so much more customization that does a fiberglass pool. It was great to lay out the exact size and shape and to place the steps and shamoo shelf exactly as we wanted. CA Pools was very helpful in choosing various options such as water features, salt system, cover, automatic chemical maintenance, plaster surface, etc. I appreciate that they didn't hard-sell these items but instead provided their expert opinion on the utility of each. The building process was good. We were informed all along the way of next steps and what to expect. I felt the process went reasonably quickly. There never was a time when we were simply stuck waiting for a subcontractor who would never show up. The Pentair equipment and accessories are all top of the line. It all works perfectly, and I control the equipment remotely from my phone -- from turning on the lights to turning on the heat and filtration. We do our own pool maintenance. We love our new pool and use it several times a day. My only hesitation in giving a five-star review stems from CA Pools not always following up timely with subcontractors to correct small issues along the way. Overall, CA Pools got the job done on time and in accordance with the contract. I would choose them again if I ever had another pool project.

We paid $70,000 over the course of three months even though we technically only had to pay 18k in that window. We were promised completion by February 15th. They started our pool in November and hired an excavator who’s license had been expired. A city inspector showed ip and fined him and made him stop. It took them almost a month to have someone come out to finish digging. Our general contractor was great from CP but, he ended up quitting because of the workload the owner Andrew was taking on. Apparently no one was getting their pools done and it was all empty promises. The decking and concrete sub messed up our flatworm and coping. He also messed up our neighbors and had to tear it all out the next year. Here we are 10 months in and although we can use our pool, the automation has never been set up. We aren’t able to hear the pool, control lights, or the water features. We were also never taught how to operate our pool as promised. We had to hire someone to teach us as well as now pay weekly to have it maintained. Our pool total was 72k and now that we only owe him 2k upon completion, he has moved on to other pools(that’ll probably never be completed either) and he won’t return calls or texts. Very unprofessional. He’s great at selling you and is very nice but he has awful execution. You will never have a finished product.
