Outstanding product installed by knowledgeable and capable craftsmen. Horrible customer interface. Absolutely horrible. The program manager assigned to us provided inconsistent, error riddled communication and only in responses to our queries well AFTER a due date had passed. Additionally, she lied to us when queried about product installation schedules - telling us something had been ordered when it had not been. When we checked with the office at Mid American Gunite Pools, they confirmed that no product had been ordered. When we told our PM this, she told us product had been back ordered when, after i called the manufacturer of the product, this proved to be another falsehood. This is extremely frustrating because the pool, once stalled - is fantastic - but the poor company and project management and even poorer customer interface turns customers off and will only negatively impact any future business. This cost us thousands of extra $$ and created a very negative outlook on this company.

Mid American built a pool for us. It was a large project with many different aspects to it. We love our pool.

Mid-American installed a pool and spa in our yard about six years ago. They did a very nice job--both the pool and spa look great--but what has truly impressed me the most with Mid-American is their service. Whenever I have a maintenance issue or question, I have been so impressed by the responsiveness of the Mid-American team. Over time, pools and spas can require attention, and the folks from Mid-American not only watch over things well, but they are quick to respond if a problem emerges. If the problem is minor, they are very patient in walking me through the solution over the phone, and if the problem is more significant, they are always quick to send someone out. I couldn't be more pleased with the excellent service I've received through Mid-American.

Mid-American Gunite Pools (Pat Brennan, Tim Buechel, Michael Geers) are the BEST people you could EVER hire to build your pool. In our case we had to remake the pool and the deck. Our pool was a very old pool, probably the oldest in our town (Huntington, WV). We had 2 bad experiences prior to hiring Mid-American Gunite Pools and we lost a lot of money without having a functional pool. Pat an Tim, who I personally met multiple times, are very courteous and true professionals. They stand by their product and strive for excellence. Personnel working with them is very recommended. They are good workers that do not waste time, but get the job done in a clean manner. They come on time, do the job in a timely fashion and to the client satisfaction. My wife and my family have enjoyed our pool all last summer long with no problems. The pool is truly beautiful and enjoyable. Mid-American also offers to service the pool (open and close the pool), which in my opinion is a good idea because it gives them an opportunity to verify the pool equipment. They also recommended us a company for remaking the deck and we were extremely happy with that choice too. I personally want to thank them for such a wonderful job. We couldn't be happier with the final product and Mid-American Gunite Pools. I highly recommend them for your pool needs.

I am very pleased with Mid-American pools and recommend them whenever I get a chance. We hired them to build a pool at the same time we were having another building constructed. The projects going on at the same time presented some inherent conflicts, but they were very flexible and considerate of the overall project. The process started with Pat ... He really knows his stuff, making several recommendations that although less profitable for his business were the best things for us ... make sure to listen to him. Since the pool was built in 2010 we have enjoyed it very much. I see the crew each year to open and close the pool. They do a great job at a reasonable price. What I appreciate the most is dealing with Michael Geers ... I frequently e-mail him with dumb questions. He always responds quickly, thoroughly and patiently. He has always been very helpful and has taught me a lot. The other guy who is really helpful is Roland. He usually is involved in opening and closing the pool. Like Mike, he really takes the time to explain things so I can operate the pool with minimal help. He has given me his personal cell phone should I need any help. This is the 3rd pool I have constructed over the years and these guys really get it. If you're building a pool, you should give these guys a shot. We had Mid-American Pool build a 20' X 40' Gunite pool for us in the summer of 2012. This was to replace a Gunite pool that was installed 3 years prior that leaked from the day it was filled. That pool had to be removed and we started again. As you might guess, this time we used a different builder: Mid-American. Working with Pat Brennan, Tim Buechel, and their team, we began with a design process where they listened to our ideas and then brought in a landscape architect to pull all of our thoughts together. Once we locked in on the design, we had the pool engineered. Based on that, they gave us a price and off we went. Their workmanship and diligence to complete the job was exceptional. They were open to answering questions throughout the process. Where they saw opportunities to improve things, they brought the choices to me. The end result: a beautiful, high quality pool, with minimum stress and issues during the process. I would highly recommend them to anyone as THE premier pool builder in the greater Cincinnati/Tri-State area. My learning's: Do not be fooled by slick websites, professional awards, and claims of renown and excellence. Do your homework. Ask to speak with past customers. Check out your local court records to see the track record of your prospective pool builder. The BBB site is not reliable in itself. See what the pool looks like in year 3 of its life and beyond. I learned that it was worth taking the time to do my research BEFORE you sign a contract. Good luck!

This company sets the standard for all construction. There is no other place to go for pools. It is not just the quality, the experience, the hard work ethos, the reputation for impeccable quality. It is not just the exquisite design. . It is the owners. Pat Brennan and Mike have decades of experience designing pools of every kind across the tri-state and they have built their sterling reputation because they personally take responsibility for complete customer satisfaction, visiting the site, overseeing the work, and working closely, in our case, sometimes several times a day, to educate us on what we need to know about pool construction and our needs. Pat, would come at a moment's notice as we made numerous changes in our project to build a pool of our dreams. Pat never showed a moment of impatience but led us through the process, looking out for our pocketbooks and our vision. Pat and Mike -at their own expense-made changes just to make us happy such as increasing the size of the steps so children would not slip or increasing the length of the dive section. They discouraged highly profitable and expensive ideas I proposed for far more economical alternatives. As I had many questions, I was amazed they did not place me on call block (LOL) but always answered the phone and strove to respond to all requests at warp speed. Wow! These gentlemen are not looking for short-term profit but long-term customer loyalty and certainly, they have me for life! I found that other contractors pale in comparison and I have hired the reputedly best in my city. This experience set the standards in my mind of service, courtesy, client communication and excellence. This is how we all should do business. I cannot imagine anyone choosing any other company but Mid-American pools.

I am a Garden and Landscape designer in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. While I have worked with Mid-American over the past several years, we most recently collaborated on a large spa project in Southeast Ohio - at a private hunting club under development. The team at Mid-American helped with the design of the unusually large spa and then installed a beautiful project. Logistics were a constant challenge, but there was never a worry about Mid-American being up to the task. I am always confident that all will go as planned when they are involved. They do what they say they will do, communicate in an unparalleled fashion and build beautiful water features.
