Color Help: Pink Color Suggestions-Not Bubble Gum

All my House Beautiful magazines are in storage! I need the pink issue, badly.

Somehow I have sweet-talked my painter into using ANOTHER color for my closet!!! I told him how I wanted to paint the ceiling in there pink. You know, a glamourous pale pink. He said since I'm doing all cabinetry in there, for no charge he could paint all the walls and the ceiling any pink I picked. Since I won't see the walls, I signed up, right away.

Trouble is, I need a pale shell pink that will go with my french gray cabinetry in there. I don't have a paint chip for the cabinets, but it's a gray, not too dark, not too light.

I'm bound by Sherwin Williams color for this process. Can anyone help? Quickly? He's getting the paint today!

I've picked, so no need to make any more suggestions! I don't want you to waste your time on little old me! I felt if I didn't hurry he would tell me I was too late and there would be no pink for me at all.

After all, it is just our closet. I went with Verbena. I did some searching on GW, found an old thread and decided this color had enough of the Venus Pink qualities mixed with a little more grown up colors on the strip. I'm sure it will be fine, no great.

I do love that photo of the white dogwood, But as we all know, Photos Do Lie!!! especially when it comes to paint color. It has to look right in person.

SW has a color called Shell Pink, but it's darker than I'd want on a ceiling. How about White Dogwood, Romance or Venus Pink?

I am afraid the white dogwood might be too "fleshy-orange" side. But it is really beautiful. Very grown up. I think it's being influenced by the other colors on the strip when I look at it.

The Venus pink is really nice too. I think that reminds me more of what I have in mind. A "real" pink but very pale.

Gotta make up my mind....

I LOVE that "Pink" issue of HB!! I will look for it in a little bit, but I got great inspiration from HB in another issue and I used the color (BM) "Old World" for my new guest room...used that and I have black panel twin beds and the bedding is a gray with white and pink and gray striped bedding from RH Baby and Child. I adore this color as it's so muted...it's very pale but kind of a beige-y pink...definitely not "in your face"! Never thought I'd use pink on walls, but this room is so beautiful! Good luck and I'll see if I can run down that issue for you!

I have BM Wispy Pink in my daughter's room -- it was the 3rd shade we tried after a couple attempts that came out bubble gum pink. It's a light, airy pink.

I learned that pink is a very reflective color -- in the light the color amplifies on the walls, so beware.

One of my favorite colors is SW's Cockleshell. It's pink grounded by a little bit of brown. I find it cheerful and very easy to live with.

It's an older color, so you have to ask them to show you a sample, unfortunately.
