While it looks suspicious, I wouldn't jump to any conclusions too quickly. It could be cold damage. I'd want to wait and see what the new growth is looking like, or if it gets any other symptoms like collapsing tissue. Crossing my fingers for you that it's not HVX.

The leaves look kinda funky so I agree with sandyslopes…..I would watch it, but be careful to not use pruners or any tools without sanitizing them. I had a Royal Standard for many years and then all of sudden one year it developed the virus. If it shows other signs of, remove it carefully and don’t plant another hosta

There are test strips available from Agdia that confirm the presence of HVX. Why not order some and be certain?

I watched the HXV video by Chris Wilson on the home page of the HL. Middle column, second down. You should watch it…..very informative. One thing he talks about a lot is discoloration radiating out from the veins which I think you are seeing here. This video is new to me. Not sure when it was added, but it’s extremely informative. About an hour but worth it.
