The majority of my chairs and sofas are slipcovered, I have been doing it for years. I even use upholstery fabric....secret is find blend of polyester and cotton and if worried it will shrink buy extra and wash before slipcover is made. If its slipcovered you just don't worry.

Otherwise known as “Twist pins”.

they are commonly used to secure fabric to something. I don’t recommend these, because they can tear the fabric.
