3D Room Designs Inspired by 5 Emmy-Nominated TV Shows
Step inside 3D-reimagined rooms based on ‘The Bear,’ ‘Ted Lasso,’ ‘The White Lotus,’ ‘Succession’ and ‘Wednesday’
The stylish sets of your favorite TV shows can be as engrossing as their plot twists and turns. With that in mind, Houzz presents a fun new production: virtual rooms that channel the design vibes of five Emmy-nominated series. From an industrial-style kitchen fit for The Bear’s Carmy to a quietly luxurious penthouse a la Succession’s Tom and Shiv’s, each room below was created with the 3D Floor Planner — a tool available to Houzz Pro subscribers — and is viewable in 2D and 3D modes. Click the links to get design inspiration for your own home and to navigate through the space almost as if you were part of the cast. And keep your eyes peeled for Easter eggs!
Design and remodeling professionals who use Houzz Pro software can create detailed floor plans with the 3D floor plan tool to help clients visualize their projects. The previous image and those in the links to the 2D and 3D views reflect what’s possible in the current version of the software. The ability to create photorealistic models, like the “beta” version pictured above and the following images, is coming soon.
These TV-inspired rooms were created from scratch, but if you’re renovating an existing space, your designer or contractor can use the Houzz Pro app on their phone or tablet to scan the room and create a virtual model as a starting point for the redesign. Pros then can adjust floor plans, share ideas and select products within the software. Imagine taking a virtual tour of your redesigned room or house before you even begin your project!
“The power of the tool really speaks for itself — being able to fully envision the space a designer or contractor is creating, from the scale of the room to the products, materials and finishes, empowers homeowners to make design and renovation decisions with confidence,” Holmlund says.

2. ‘Ted Lasso’
Soccer team AFC Richmond may have had its ups and downs in this lovable comedy, but coach Ted Lasso’s cozy London flat in the eponymous series was a consistent winner. Its traditional decor and architectural details inspired this living room, which Holmlund designed with interior French doors, a fireplace and four tall arched windows.
The flooring is 7-inch-wide laminate planks in a natural beige, the walls are Dustblu by Sherwin-Williams and the hardware has a brushed metal finish.
From the flooring up to chandeliers, many of the exact products used in the floor plans were sourced from the Houzz Shop — including this room’s Easter egg, believe it or not.

3. ‘Succession’
If walls could talk, Shiv and Tom’s multistory Tribeca loft in Succession might reveal secrets about politicos and media dynasties. It could also offer lessons on getting the “quiet luxury” look. Drawing inspiration from the room’s architecture as well as that buzzy design aesthetic, Holmlund used the floor plan tool to create an open, light-filled space with clean lines, high ceilings, an architectural pillar and floor-to-ceiling windows.
Fans of the satirical series will recognize the loft’s signature floating staircase (here re-created in white oak), curved sofas and multilight chandelier. The walls are painted in Benjamin Moore’s Seattle Mist, which coordinates with the weathered gray windows and brushed metal hardware and complements the 9-inch-plank laminate floors in warm Clay Oak.

4. ‘The White Lotus’
Speaking of rooms with high-end, timeless materials and products, this bathroom was inspired by those in Sicily’s San Domenico Palace — the five-star backdrop for Season 2 of the dark comedy The White Lotus. “This room is all about luxury,” Holmlund says of the spa bathroom, which she clad with white marble tile and outfitted with a freestanding soaking tub and floating double vanity. Doors and trim painted in Benjamin Moore’s White Dove and sleek polished chrome hardware let the luxe stone shine.
This bathroom has a separate shower stall and toilet closet. Clicking around the plan’s Dollhouse and Walkthrough views offers a sense of how the floor plan tool can help design and remodeling pros and their clients visualize the layout and flow between rooms — and even to outdoor spaces.

5. ‘Wednesday’
The 3D interpretation of the attic dorm room shared by Wednesday Addams and Enid Sinclair has dark espresso-colored arches and cathedral ceilings much like those designed for the comedy-horror series’ set. “The Walkthrough view really gives you a sense of the soaring space,” Holmlund says. It also shows off the breadth of the architectural features available in the software.
The plan’s large octagonal window recalls the massive stained-glass window set in the fictional dorm room at Nevermore Academy — albeit without the half-and-half color scheme. And while the walls are all painted in Benjamin Moore’s brooding Black Tar and the floor is 5-inch-plank laminate in Taupe Oak throughout, Holmlund had fun filling Enid’s side with rainbow hues while keeping Wednesday’s side strictly black-and-white.

Fans of The Bear, a drama set in the Chicago restaurant world, will note that this chef’s kitchen looks nothing like the one in chef Carmy’s own home. For starters, there are no jeans in the oven! Instead, Houzz designer Madison Holmlund took ingredients from both the front and back of the house of Carmy’s new restaurant to cook up a residential eat-in kitchen with an industrial feel, all created with Houzz Pro’s 3D Floor Planner.
Gleaming stainless steel and polished chrome finishes, a glass subway tile backsplash, black floor tile, charcoal soapstone counters, bleached white oak cabinets and Benjamin Moore Sidewalk Gray paint on the walls and trim are the main elements that Holmlund selected from the array of built-in products, materials and finishes available in the software. (Did you spot the Easter egg? It’s a bronze wall-mounted sculpture of a bear’s head.)
