The Belfast Residence in Ohio is a new construction, custom modern house situated on a 150 acre farm. Panda solved the challenge of extending the intimate space of the kitchen into the expansiveness of the backyard by installing fully retractable TS.60 All Aluminum Thermally Broken Folding Door Systems. Custom designed for this space, this elegant and durable folding door system spans the entire wall of the kitchen. This door system uses cutting-edge aluminum extrusions with a polyamide bar to connect the frame together while reducing heat or cold transfer. When closed, this Bi-Fold door system provides a protective barrier that lowers u-factors, limits condensation, increases energy performance, and most of all reduces thermal conductivity.
The architectural firm, Drawing Dept. designed a cantilevered roof reaching out over the pool on axis with a sunken fire pit, drawing the geometry of the house further out into the landscape. As a result, the heart of the home unrestrictedly extends toward the fire pit for optimal physical and visual connection.
Impressive architectural design intertwined with Panda’s custom Bi-Fold doors can create unimaginable opportunities. No wonder this home was awarded the 2013 Merit Award from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Cincinnati and the 2013 Honor Award from the CDA + Cincinnati Magazine for its exterior space!
Panda’s custom designed Bi-Fold Doors ensure that a homeowner can equally and cohesively enjoy their interior and exterior spaces. Views from the house and views of the house should hold equal merit.

This residence is situated on a steeply sloping site with views of the Bookcliffs, The Grand Mesa, and the city lights of Grand Junction. One of the goals for this project was to integrate the residence's massing in a terraced fashion into the site as it rises in elevation from the road access. The Noga Residence incorporates an internal courtyard that allows for further views, solar access, airflow and a transition from public to private. The hexagonal Rotunda was designed as the focal point for both the exterior and the interior house views. The Dining, Great Room and Kitchen are located within this unique, open, well-lit space and create an open concept to each of these areas. A structural truss will span the Rotunda with decorative accent wood purlins to ornament the ceiling and to create an interesting play of light from the lantern above. The Rotunda was given the hierarchy of all other spaces and is where the entertaining and viewing will occur. Expansive windows and clerestory look out to the backside of the site for views to the upper hillside and an increase in natural light for the interior spaces.
A loft is also a part of the plan, creating a hideaway place to relax and enjoy further views. A lantern is perched on top of the Rotunda acting as an element intertwining with the sky. This lantern will allow further natural lighting and offer views to the sky and natural surroundings.
Indigenous landscaping will be introduced to anchor the residence and the drive as it meanders to the residence.
A thatch style mottled concrete tile, patina brown copper roofs, mottled exterior cement plaster, deep overhangs, stone spires, rising glass, water elements, articulated rafter tails and knee braces will create the exterior aesthetics.

The Front Range in Colorado has some of the most beautiful vistas in the country, and maximizing those views not only pleases homeowners, it also increases property values. The landscape architect tackled this particularly tricky project, keeping its spectacular view front and center. Steep grades and exposed bedrock, protected visual corridors and maintaining the feeling of the rugged landscape atop the ridge while weaving in a particularly complex program were the objectives of the project. The result is a design that intertwines clean lines, color and texture into the landscape beyond.
