We finished the patio using a soldier course border in Unilock’s TopThorne paver. Moving onto the rectangular fire pit, which is prominently featured for the most comfort and versatility, we used the Brussels Dimensional System in the color Limestone. We carried this look throughout the seating and retaining wall for consistency. You may also notice we used a graduated design on the retaining wall cap to create more visual interest. Additionally, the bottom of retaining wall is tapered to help keep wall from tipping out. This is a 50'' Orton Style Rumford Fireplace at my home in Oxford,CT.
A Rumford Firplace is made with either a straight rear wall or a slanted one. The slanted ones are the better heaters and I just proved "the more efficient" as they do not have a bigger throat area than the straight variety. The book "The Forgotten Art of Building a Good Fireplace" written bu Vrest Orton in the late 60's descibes the slanted variety well and that is where they picked up the name. He did not invent them rather he wrote of what he witnessed as being nice enjoyable good heating Rumfords .
It uses my self made damper and burns all winter long with the damper blade at only a 1-3/4'''' gap opening.
This represents a throat area to fireplace opening area of 1 to 30 a achievement that recently left the top authority on Rumford Fireplaces in awe and disbelief as his straight backed Rumfords only get to a 1:20 ratio. Although he remained skeptical and wanting more explicit videos and refusing to sign a nondisclosure agreement, he wanted to know if I could do the same with his chosen styled Rumfords.
With a large or small fire the damper stays fixed.
Weather is a non issue, even foggy drizzly nights do not effect this fireplace. There are videos at FCasini on You Tube showing the 50'' burning along with my basement 36'' Orton which I did experimenting last winter . The basement [never used before] has no face, so I affixed a steel panel on it to see if it could burn at the same ratio as my 50'' which uses my self made 30 year old damper.
Iinstead it has a custom vestal damper which I cut the front off as I occasionally do when the budget is limited.
It burned good at a 1 to 26 ratio which is way above the 1/17 that Straight Back Rumfords normally do although their very best is 1/20 ..both of which depend on the use of the highly suggested Tee Pee Fire which will assist any fireplace in smoke evacuation due to solely emitting the smoke form the high end of the standing logs!
Both of my fireplaces certainly can use this style fire but I enjoy the horizontal log cabin style because of the easy loading and longer lasting fire per load.
This winter I am going to affix a glass panel to get a good look at the throat and inner breast chamber while the fireplace is burning. This will be done in my third [ also un faced like the basement] Rumford. This one uses an outside chimney that is about 18' tall, much shorter than the other two and not as warm an environment being the other two are interior chimneys. I am anxious to see if it will compete with a lesser draft ?
I have been searching the patent data base and to date there is nothing close to even resemble the way I get these slanted fireplaces to pass the smoke through such a ridiculously thin throat which I call "The Gates Of Hell".
The prototype is complete and installed into this fireplace which is in it's second year of performance testing and doing better than I expected, in fact before installing it last week I cleaned the throat and chimney and damper blade which hasn't been done in 6 years. This did help the performance a lot as the passage is so thin any build up greatly slows it down from the added viscosity ie flow drag.
For those that don't understand the benefit of a 1:30 ratio it is half the loss of heated air up the chimney and results in a 50% increase in heat efficiency.
This equals a 100% enjoyment factor for anyone whom takes fireplace burning seriously like have done and do for the past 30 years!
The house doesn't get sucked cold!

Learn more about granite to see if it’s right for you:
Granite countertops can last a lifetime. It contains no harmful chemicals and do not emit harmful radiation or gasses. Granite is heat resistant and is one of the most heat-resistant countertops on the market. You can place a hot pan out of the oven directly onto the countertop surface. Experts do recommend the use of a trivet when using appliances that emit heat for long periods of time, such as crockpots. Since the material is so dense, there is a small possibility heating one area of the top and not the entire thing, could cause the countertop to crack.
Granite is scratch resistant. You can cut on it, but it will dull your knives! Granite scores a seven on Moh’s hardness scale.
Granite countertops are considered to be a low maintenance countertop surface. The likelihood of needing to be repaired or resurfaced is low. Granite is a porous material. Most fabricators will apply a sealer to granite countertops before they are installed which will protect them from absorbing liquids too quickly. Many sealers last more than 10 years before needing to be reapplied. When they do need to be reapplied, it is something that most homeowners can do on their own as the process is similar to cleaning. Darker granites are very dense and sometimes don’t even require a sealer.
When it comes to pricing, there are a lot of variables such as edge profile, total square footage, backsplash, etc. Don’t be fooled by the stereotype that all granite is expensive. Lower-range granites will cost less than high-range laminate. Though granite countertops are not considered “low range” in pricing, there are a lot of affordable options.
If you are looking for something truly unique, consider an exotic granite. Some quarries are not easily accessible and/or only able to be quarried for short periods of time throughout the year. If these circumstances exist in a quarry with gorgeous stone, the price will be driven upward.
You won’t find a lot of solid patterns or bright colors, but both do exist. Also, watch for a large range of color and pattern within the same color of stone. It’s always a good idea to view the exact slab(s) that will be fabricated for your kitchen to make sure they are what you expected to see from the sample. Another factor is that many exotic types of granite have huge flowing waves, and a small sample will not be an accurate representation of the whole slab.
Granite countertops are very resistant to chemicals. Acids and bases will not harm the material.
Understanding Marble:
Marble is a porous, high-maintenance surface.
Be prepared to see some scratches. Marble is a softer stone. However, marble is still so beautiful with the scratches! If you’ve ever gone to Italy, you can see the beautiful marble on floors and many restaurants. It’s a classic lasting look. Even with scratches.
If you don't mind the extra work, they are a beautiful addition. Marble has a multifaceted ability to work with so many different design styles. If you're a homeowner looking for a wipe-and-go countertop, though, you'll probably want to skip this one.
It's cost-effective, depending on the type of marble you buy. Carrara marble (a grayer version with softer veins from Carrara, Italy) is one of the least expensive natural countertop materials on the market, mainly because it's readily available. Calacatta marble, which offers a whiter surface and more dramatic veining, and the price tag goes up.
Marble is heat-resistant — which is great — but you still need to be careful. Marble is heat resistant. Despite its ability to withstand high temps, you never want to place a piping hot pot on for risk of discoloring or burning the surface. We recommend always using a pot holder anyways.
We don’t want to dissuade you from using marble. In fact, I personally have a marble island in my kitchen. Stone Action solely wants you to be informed so that you’re choosing the right material for your project.
We hope you personally come check out our marble or other stone selection!

Benefits of Buying Electric Scooters for Sale in Perth
Environmental Advantages of Using Electric Scooters over Traditional Vehicles
Electric scooters offer several environmental benefits compared to traditional vehicles. Firstly, they produce zero emissions since they run on electricity instead of gasoline or diesel fuel. An electric scooter contributes less to air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions, making it a more eco-friendly transportation option.
By choosing an electric scooter for your daily commute or short trips, you're helping to reduce noise pollution as these scooters operate quietly without the loud engine noises associated with conventional vehicles.
Cost Savings Associated with Owning an E-Scooter
One significant advantage of owning an electric scooter is the potential for significant cost savings. Unlike cars or motorcycles, electric scooters have lower upfront costs and are generally more affordable.
They also require less maintenance since they have fewer moving parts and don't need regular oil changes or complex engine repairs. Moreover, charging an e-scooter is much cheaper than refueling a traditional vehicle with gasoline or diesel fuel. With rising fuel prices, investing in an electric scooter can help you save money in the long run.
Health Benefits and Convenience Offered by Electric Scooters
Besides being environmentally friendly and cost-effective, electric scooters also provide health benefits and convenience for riders. Riding an e-scooter can be a fun way to incorporate physical activity into your daily routine, as it requires balance and engages your core muscles while cruising around town.
It's an excellent alternative for those who want to avoid sitting in traffic jams or struggling to find parking spaces in crowded areas.
Electric scooters are compact and lightweight, making them easy to maneuver through congested streets and narrow alleys where larger vehicles may struggle to navigate. They're also convenient for short-distance travel because they allow you to zip around quickly without worrying about finding parking spots or paying parking fees.
Age Considerations for E-Scooter Riding
There are certain age restrictions and legal requirements that need to be considered. Let's dive into the guidelines and factors you should consider when determining if someone is old enough to ride safely.
Age Restrictions and Legal Requirements
Countries and regions have varying regulations regarding the minimum age for riding an electric scooter. It is essential to familiarize yourself with the specific laws in your area before purchasing or allowing someone to ride an e-scooter. For example, some places may require riders to be at least 16 years old, while others may require a higher minimum age.
Factors to Consider for Safe Riding
Age alone should not be the sole factor determining whether someone can ride an e-scooter safely. Other considerations include physical capabilities, maturity level, and experience with similar modes of transportation.
While teenagers might meet the minimum age requirement, they may still need to gain the skills or judgment required for safe scooter riding.
Assessing whether an individual has the coordination, balance, and reaction time needed to operate an e-scooter effectively is crucial. Their ability to understand traffic rules and quick decisions on busy streets should also be considered.
Safety Precautions for Children and Teenagers
If you are considering allowing a child or teenager to ride an electric scooter, it is essential to take extra safety precautions. Here are some recommendations:
Supervision: A responsible adult should always supervise young children while riding their e-scooters.
Protective Gear: Ensure riders of all ages wear appropriate safety gear such as helmets, knee pads, elbow pads, and wrist guards.
Training: Provide proper training on operating the scooter safely before allowing it out independently.
Traffic Awareness: Teach children and teenagers about traffic rules, road signs, and the importance of staying alert while riding.
Safe Riding Areas: Encourage riders to stick to designated bike lanes or paths away from heavy traffic whenever possible.
Following these safety precautions can minimize the risk of accidents and ensure a safer riding experience for children and teenagers.
Battery Life and Maintenance
Importance of Battery Life in Choosing an Electric Scooter
Battery life is a crucial factor to consider when shopping for an electric scooter. It determines how far you can ride before needing to recharge. A longer battery life means more time spent cruising the streets and less time worrying about finding a charging station.
So, if you plan on using your e-scooter for daily commutes or long rides, choosing one with a reliable and long-lasting battery is essential.
Tips for Extending Battery Life and Maximizing Performance
To get the most out of your electric scooter's battery, there are a few tips you can follow:
Avoid Overcharging: Overcharging can negatively impact the lifespan of your battery. Unplug it from the charger once it reaches its full charge to prevent any potential damage.
Store Properly: Store your e-scooter in a cool and dry place when not in use. Extreme temperatures can affect the performance of the battery.
Maintain Optimal Tire Pressure: Properly inflating your tires helps reduce friction and improves overall energy efficiency, ultimately extending your battery life.
Limit Excessive Weight: Carrying heavy loads or exceeding the weight limit specified by the manufacturer puts extra strain on the motor and drains the battery faster.
Avoid Steep Hills: Climbing steep inclines requires more power from the motor, which drains the battery quickly. If possible, avoid hilly routes or be prepared for a reduced range.
Use Eco Mode: Many electric scooters offer different riding modes, including an eco-friendly mode that conserves energy by limiting speed and acceleration. Utilizing this mode can help extend your battery life significantly.
Basic Maintenance Tasks to Keep Your E-Scooter Running Smoothly
Regular maintenance is essential to ensure optimal performance and longevity of your e-scooter. Here are some basic maintenance tasks to keep in mind:
Clean Regularly: Wipe down the scooter's exterior with a damp cloth to remove dirt and debris. Clean the wheels and brake pads, as these can accumulate dust and affect performance.
Check Tire Tread: Inspect the tire tread regularly for signs of wear and tear. Replace worn-out tires promptly to maintain traction and safety.
Inspect Brakes: Test the brakes periodically to ensure they are functioning correctly. Adjust or replace brake pads if necessary.
Tighten Loose Screws: Check for any loose screws or bolts on your e-scooter and tighten them as needed. This helps prevent rattling noises and ensures structural integrity.
Keep Battery Charged: Even if you're not using your electric scooter regularly, keeping the battery charged at least partially to maintain its health is essential.
By following these tips and performing regular maintenance, you can maximize the lifespan of your electric scooter's battery while keeping it running smoothly.
Durability and Warranty Information
Durability is a crucial factor to consider. After all, you want your e-scooter to withstand the test of time and provide reliable performance. So, what should you look out for when assessing durability in an e-scooter?
Quality indicators for assessing durability
One crucial quality indicator is the build material of the scooter. Look for models made from high-quality materials like aluminum or carbon fiber, as they are more durable and resistant to wear and tear. Check if the scooter has a sturdy frame and solid construction to handle various terrains.
Another aspect to consider is the weight capacity of the e-scooter. It can support your weight comfortably without compromising its overall stability and performance. A higher weight capacity often indicates better durability.
Furthermore, pay attention to the design features that enhance durability. Features such as reinforced wheels, shock absorption systems, and water resistance can significantly contribute to the longevity of your electric scooter.
The importance of warranty coverage
Warranty coverage is another critical aspect to remember when buying an electric scooter. It provides peace of mind, knowing that you have protection if any issues arise with your purchase within a specified period.
A comprehensive warranty will typically cover manufacturing defects and faulty components. It's essential to carefully review the warranty conditions before purchasing to understand what is covered and for how long.
Dynamo Fitness Equipment's commitment to customer satisfaction
At Dynamo Fitness Equipment, we prioritize customer satisfaction by offering excellent warranty coverage on our range of e-scooters for sale. Our scooters have a comprehensive warranty policy that protects your investment.

Features and Tips for Purchasing
Key Features to Look for When Shopping for an Electric Scooter
There are a few key features you should keep in mind. First and foremost, safety features should be at the top of your list. Look for scooters with features such as headlights, taillights, and reflectors to ensure visibility on the road.
Consider models with a reliable braking system, such as disc brakes or regenerative braking, which can help you stop quickly and safely.
Another critical feature to consider is the weight capacity of the scooter. Choose a scooter that can comfortably support your weight without compromising its performance.
It's also essential to check the maximum speed and range of the scooter. If you plan on using it for longer commutes or trips, opt for a larger battery capacity and a more extended-range model.
Tips on Choosing the Right Size, Weight Capacity, and Range for Your Needs
Finding the right size electric scooter is crucial for both comfort and maneuverability. Consider handlebar height and deck width when selecting a scooter that suits your body type. Ensure that you have enough legroom while riding and that the handlebars are at a comfortable height.
Weight capacity is another vital consideration when purchasing an electric scooter. Be sure to choose one that can accommodate your weight, plus any additional items you may carry while riding. Exceeding the weight limit could affect the performance of the scooter.
Regarding range, consider how far you need to travel on a single charge. If you plan on using your scooter primarily for short trips around town, a lower range may suffice. However, if you anticipate longer rides or require more flexibility regarding distance covered per charge, opt for a model with an extended range.
Advice on Comparing Prices and Researching Customer Reviews Before Making a Purchase
When shopping for an electric scooter, comparing prices and researching customer reviews before purchasing is essential. Take the time to browse different retailers and online platforms to find competitive prices. Some retailers may even offer price match options or additional incentives, so explore all your options.
Customer reviews can provide valuable insights into the performance and reliability of specific scooter models. Look for feedback on factors such as battery life, durability, and overall user experience. Remember that while some negative reviews are expected, pay attention to any recurring issues or concerns raised by multiple customers.
Conclusion
In conclusion, shopping for e-scooters for sale can be an exciting and rewarding experience. We have explored the benefits of electric scooters, age considerations for riding, battery life, maintenance, durability and warranty information, and features and tips for purchasing.
Now that you have this knowledge, it's time to start your journey toward finding the perfect e-scooter for sale Perth for you. Get ready to enjoy the convenience, eco-friendliness, and fun of owning an electric scooter.

![diginoms](https://st.hzcdn.com/fimgs/66639bf504395e63_1315-w32-h32-b0-p0--.jpg)
Embarking on the creation of a bespoke kitchen that mirrors your distinctive style, caters to your unique lifestyle, and enhances the worth of your property is a task that demands careful planning and skilled execution. Numerous companies in London purport to offer unrivalled bespoke kitchen services, making the task of identifying the right company an overwhelming affair. This comprehensive guide will shed light on how to select the ideal company for your bespoke kitchen project in London. For context, let's consider a reputable company like Zawada Kitchens ( https://zawadakitchens.co.uk) to exemplify what a top-tier provider in this sector offers.
Defining Bespoke Kitchens
Before proceeding to the process of choosing the best bespoke kitchen company, it's crucial to understand the term 'bespoke kitchens'. Unlike conventional kitchens, bespoke kitchens are customised to the particular preferences, requirements, and space dimensions of the homeowner. They break away from the generic 'one-size-fits-all' model prevalent in ready-made kitchens and instead accommodate the distinctive architectural elements of your house, your lifestyle, and your personal aesthetic leanings.
These kitchens offer matchless flexibility, from material and finish options to layout preferences and distinct storage solutions. They also permit you to maximise kitchen space usefully and integrate appliances smoothly. Although a bespoke kitchen may require a larger investment compared to a ready-made one, the advantage of having a design custom-fitted to your home and needs typically justifies the cost.
Evaluating Experience and Proficiency
One of the primary considerations when identifying a bespoke kitchen company in London is the firm's level of experience and proficiency. Companies that have operated for more years are typically more skilled and competent. Additionally, a company that has stood the test of time is likely to be secure and trustworthy.
To gauge a company's proficiency, search for a diverse portfolio showcasing a variety of styles and designs. This portfolio should display the company's capability to design kitchens of differing sizes, styles, and complexities. This information is often available on the company's website, or you can request it directly.
Client Reviews and Testimonials
Client reviews and testimonials provide invaluable insights into the standard of a company's work, their customer service, and their reliability. When exploring different bespoke kitchen companies, make an effort to read their reviews on independent platforms such as Google, Trustpilot, or Houzz. Identify recurring themes in the reviews, whether positive or negative.
Reviews can disclose whether the company fulfils its promises, how it handles issues, its punctuality, and its respect for the budget. However, bear in mind that no company can satisfy everyone all the time, but a high number of positive reviews generally signifies a company that values its clients and delivers a high quality of work.
The Design Process Unpacked
Every bespoke kitchen company will have its unique design process. This process usually encompasses consultation, design creation, review and revision, material selection, fabrication, and installation. Understanding each company's method can assist you in choosing the one that best aligns with your needs and expectations.
Choose a company that devotes sufficient time to understanding your distinct needs and desires. They should offer a detailed consultation, make knowledgeable suggestions, provide clear and detailed designs, and be prepared to revise the plans until you're content. Companies that speed through the design process or are unwilling to accommodate changes may not be the ideal fit for a bespoke kitchen project.
Post-installationSupport and Guarantee
Leading bespoke kitchen firms take pride in their work and provide a warranty for their products and services. This warranty should cover the kitchen's physical structure - including cabinets, countertops, and other components - as well as the installation work itself. Some firms may also offer a post-installation service, including maintenance and adjustments following the kitchen installation.
This is an important aspect to consider in your selection process. A firm that provides an extended warranty is likely using top-quality materials and craftsmanship. In addition, having access to post-installation services can offer peace of mind, knowing that the company is prepared to manage any adjustments or issues that might occur following the installation.
Price versus Value
Price is a significant factor in any major home renovation project, but it should not be the sole deciding factor. In the realm of bespoke kitchens, the saying "you get what you pay for" often holds true. Companies offering services at a lower price might be compromising on quality, using inferior materials, or outsourcing crucial tasks.
Rather than focusing strictly on cost, take into account the overall value the company offers. This includes the quality of the materials they use, the competence of their designers and craftsmen, their reputation for customer service, and their willingness to stand behind their work. Sometimes, paying a bit more upfront can save you a significant amount of stress and expense in the future.

Having been recommended to use RRA by friends of theirs, our clients approached us last year to work with their Victorian semi-detached property in Leckhampton, Cheltenham.
As with many of these Victorian properties the kitchen was a narrow, dark room with limited space, which, when the properties were built was solely used for kitchen purposes, bathing in front of the range every Sunday and never, ever, for entertaining guests. These days, however, the kitchen is the beating heart of the home used for dining, socialising, homework, housework and just about all of family life.
The brief was to remodel the back of the property to have a larger, more functional space.
Our scheme widened the existing structure to use the width of the plot whilst still allowing side access to the property, adapted the downstairs w/c and created a new utility room with with curved walls, created a large open-plan space incorporating a contemporary kitchen, dining area and social space.
Key to the design was to ensure that there was a considered transition between the original and new space. 5 options were presented to the clients, the curved walls being one of these options. From an initial cautious reaction to this idea preferring a ‘safer’ option, the client quickly decided this was a more interesting route. However, even at the eleventh hour, when the walls had been set out, RRA was called to site to provide further reassurance. Thankfully once the construction was in-situ, complete with beautifully crafted doors which match the radii of the walls, the client was very happy with the design.
The curved walls create spaces which contain the surprisingly spacious hidden downstairs w/c and utility room. To increase the perception of space, and avoid the curved walls visually clashing with the linear under stairs wall and door, these were removed and the stair case continued into the basement in the matching Victorian style of the existing stairs.
It is these design details that transform a standard, nice new extension into something with real wow factor.
Crittal style, glazed doors open to connect the garden space, with it’s matching curved lawns, to the house and a large, quadrilateral picture window fills the end wall. The neutral colour palette enhances the feature wall of internal exposed brick wall which also has an integrated ambient light strip to creates another dimension in the evening; all adding to the quality of the space.
In addition to the glazed doors and picture window, three roof lights set into the pitched ceiling provide additional light and ventilation over the kitchen area.
We are very happy to report that the RRA’s design has met, and exceeded, the clients brief. Working in collaboration with the client the result is a stunning and functional space with a very relaxing atmosphere.
RRA would like to thank AM/PM 247 Builders for their high quality workmanship and our clients for their trust and openness to ideas through the project. We are delighted that they are delighted with the results.
In the words of our clients,
"We would whole heartedly recommend RRA having just completed an extension with them. Their designs included features which have become favourites in our finished kitchen. It could have been a fairly ‘predictable’ extension but because of their ideas we have something which, we think, is pretty special and a bit ‘different’.
We enjoyed working with Mark and Oliver who, throughout the process, were very patient, and they worked brilliantly with our builders to make sure things went as smoothly as possible."
