Design-build remodel in Wakefield, MA, featuring a kitchen with a bar area and mudroom space. (#ProjectEclecticEnvy) This remodel showcases painted frameless cabinetry in Rookwood Green, with a white textured subway tile backsplash, seamlessly integrated into a U-shaped layout with a peninsula for seating. The appliance suite in matte black adds contrast, accented with brass and German bronze hardware. A Silgranit apron sink with a fabric skirt and a brass bridge faucet introduce traditional charm. The bar area features a medium gray quartz countertop that mimics concrete, a highly textured geometric backsplash, and a concealed framed television. The mudroom space includes custom built-in storage with a stained bench top and continues the bar area’s backsplash tile. An 8” charcoal hexagon floor tile and Hygge & West Piedmont Wallpaper in Pine - a large-scale patterned wallpaper featuring foxes, birds, and florals - tie the space together with bold character.

Every custom home needs a space that is as unique to its design as much as to the family that calls it home. This multimedia room includes a traditional home theatre with recessed seating as well as a golf simulator—providing a dual purpose. The multimedia room is intentionally located in the home where the sound is muffled to the remainder of the house when in use.
The room is finished out in 7.2 surround sound with Sonance speakers and state of the art Sony amplifier and projector. The Screen Innovations Black Diamond screen with a cinema quality projector and high-speed camera is remotely controlled using a Control4 system loaded IPad. All the lights are wirelessly controlled, and the shades and blinds are motorized and programed to open and close at a designated time or can be commanded to open via Alexa.
Merchandised with beige leather recliners and blue patterned carpet, this space uses shades of blue to create an ideal place for family movie nights, entertaining or rounds of indoor golf on rainy afternoons.

Exterior Detail.
These two door inserts (32" x72") are created from hand-beveled and polished 3/8" thick Starfire (low-iron) glass. This type of glass does not have the usual "green" edge, and therefore refracts and transmits the prismatic light beveled glass is known for into a much brighter "rainbow". The elegant design motif is based on a wood marquetry floor pattern from Versailles, and fits in well with the eclectic art, furniture and design collections of the owners. They were actively involved in the smallest of details to the broadest. This final product is a testament to their input, ideas and dedication to quality, along with their desire for uncommon materials and design in art-glass.
