At Custom Metal Home, we take pride in building Range Hoods entirely to customer specifications. Zinc is quickly becoming one of the most popular materials in custom hoods. Zinc is a reactive material with a living finish,that will acquire a patina and unique pattern of use over time. We can speed up this aging process by hand-applying a patina that also slightly darkens the zinc. We recommend going with the darkened patina on the custom hoods because of the infrequent contact with the hood.
