Reclaimed wood wall accent is designed for the do it yourself person! Not everyone can have someone come to their house to install, so why not install a custom reclaimed wood wall yourself!
These boards have been salvaged from early 1900’s barns from around southern New Brunswick, which we have taken down. The grey boards are usually from the sides and show mild to heavy weathering. Those that were on the windward sides show lots of heavy weathering and wear. The browner boards are usually from the roof structure and interior areas. All boards have been cleaned up and de-nailed, for the most part, and lightly sanded to remove splinters. There still may be some embedded nails that are below the surface though and add character to the wood. We split the boards in half and cut them to width and precision cut the ends, so they all fit together well. The backs are machined to accept construction adhesive for gluing on or they may be nailed on as well. These boards are unfinished and have been left in there natural state. If you decide to apply a clear coating be sure to test a few pieces first as any finish will alter the colors somewhat.
As you can see from the pictures, we have cut them in a few specific widths to you can play around with them a bit to fit together and create your own look. The various widths are 1 1/2”, 2”, 3 1/2” and 5 1/2”. They are all machined so there is a flat back for easy attachment to the surface. They are all 7/16" thick and come in a variety of lengths from 6" to 48". We carefully assemble each box to contain 24 square feet of material. Each board is hand cut and inspected to make sure its top quality going out. These are all authentic barn wood, weathered naturally and authentic. Great for featured walls, kitchens, behind headboards, etc.
