Cheryl DuCote Interior Architecture & Design

My Husband and I hired Cheryl Ducote at the start of 2016 to refurnish and redesign our place that we bought in San Francisco. We bought a two bedroom two bathroom Co-op on Hyde Street in the heart of Russian Hill. It is a magnificent old building built in 1923. The apartment had wonderful bones but needed a lot of work to make it exactly how we wanted it to be. Cheryl said that it should be “city chic” and when she was done with it that is exactly what it turned out to be. She did an amazing job transforming an old tired looking apartment into a gorgeous two bedroom 2 and a half bath city home. We moved a lot of walls and completely redesigned the bathrooms which turned out to be gorgeous. In the remodel we added a beautiful little powder room to the apartment. The place turned out beautifully and we loved being there as much as we can. This is our second home but we sometimes feel like it is our primary home because of the way it has been designed. It is amazingly comfortable and it is always a pleasure to be there. Cheryl and her assistant Susan were such a pleasure to work with throughout the process. They were so organized and always prepared for meetings. We would go to the design center with them and pick things out which was a lot of fun. We also went to places to pick out slabs of granite and onyx. They encouraged us to go with them and pick things out which we really enjoyed doing. Their accounting was impeccable and they always had everything in order. There is nothing that I can say negative about working with Cheryl and Susan. I have already referred them to a friend of mine and will continue to refer them to people I know. They are incredibly professional but at the same time were a lot of fun to work with during the whole remodel. Chery DuCote is currently my interior designer for an eat-in kitchen remodel and family room update. Cheryl is highly skilled in the area of architectural design, including color, paint selection, appropriate furniture scale and use of fabrics and trims. She has incredible knowledge in the field of lighting, cabinetry design, and space layout. Her relationship with the trade world was very impressive, she uses the highest quality of workmanship for custom cabinet installation, painters, and furniture fabrication/upholsterers. Cheryl is a delight to work with; listens to the needs of her clients and executes the project with efficiency, accuracy and on budget. I highly recommend Cheryl for any aspect of home design.

Cheryl helped us re-design and create an entirely new Master sanctuary - bedroom, closet and bathroom. She worked hand-in-hand with us to find the right finishes - from fixtures, to stone slabs, to tile, to color, to lighting - that produced a stunning result. Cheryl found the most beautiful mosaic tile for our accent wall in the shower that truly makes our bathroom unique and one that embodies the serenity and beauty of our natural surroundings. Cheryl is a delight to work with and someone who truly cares about delivering quality and high customer satisfaction!

Cheryl has worked with me (the client) on two projects. The more recent was 5 years ago, and involved a from-scratch home design that took 2 years and 4 months from completed plans. Cheryl was both the interior designer but also a key player on the project team that met weekly for over a year. Outside of her specific field, she provided important insights to the team on architectural details, usability, and the flow of the house. She quickly learned our style, taste, and even peccadilloes, and was consistently able to provide us with multiple options with strong, and varying, appeal. She warmly encouraged us to stretch and grow and consider new options. She operates very well within a budget. She is a fun--a delight to work with. She is honest and direct. Her integrity is above reproach. I highly recommend her.
