Elemental Homes

I highly recommend Jonathan Coppin and Elemental Homes. My husband and I hired Jonathan for the design and remodel of a 1950s ranch in Denver’s Hilltop neighborhood. Our vision for the home was “French Moderne” inspired by architect Robert Mallet Stevens (1886-1945). The result is a beautifully designed house with influences of the past, but decidedly modern. Great flow to the rooms, layout is elegant yet very comfortable. The construction was top-notch and Elemental’s “green” building practices do lead to lower energy costs. Jonathan was great to work with from start to finish of our project. He was always professional, trustworthy, responsive. He listened to our needs, designed a house that met our goals, and built it on budget. There was collaborative communication throughout; on the occasions that we had issues (inevitable on a home build/remodel), Jonathan and his team were quick to resolve. Since building a custom home, I’ve heard people say “everyone builds a house once” and laugh. I wouldn’t hesitate to hire Elemental for another project, even another custom home build. Many design “wants” were value-engineered out of our initial plan, but Jonathan figured a cost-effective way to keep the French Moderne-inspired stairway. It’s one of my favorite elements of our home.

I was fortunate enough to have Jonathan and his team reconfigure and repair our wrap around upper level balcony that was having structural issues. Our house, only ten years old, did not have proper drainage, roof angling or flashing, which all needed to be addressed. Many normal wear and tear issues came up as the project started (ie: railings needed to be re-powder coated, major cracking on exterior stucco, loose rocks on the side of the house) and Jonathan was able to find time to add on the much needed repairs. I have seen several of Jon’s homes, as we have lived in the Denver metro area. He has a true gift of style- and pays great attention to detail. I would highly recommend elemental homes to anyone looking for an architect, new home, or remodel.

The home that Elemental Homes created for us has been the best home that I have ever lived in. It's sculptural form is not only striking, it is also great for living and entertaining. We use every corner of it. It has been featured on home tours and in architectural magazines. They are great to work with, being approachable and trustworthy. I would highly recommend them.
