My thoughts about our Richart Design experience: We found Richart Design and Jason when searching on line for a good local architect, and having seen the signs on some local projects. Based upon reviews, Jason made the short list bearing further research. The company website showed many local projects, and supported an interview. That is where we really made the connection, when we met Jason at our house. We had pretty firm ideas about what we wanted from our old 1956 ranch house, just no idea how to make it happen. When we met Jason at the house, he was very, very good at listening to our ideas, understanding them, and explaining what was possible with our existing design. We really knew right then that we would have a very good working relationship with Jason and his team because he was excellent at listening, understanding our wants, and communicating his ideas as well. Richart Design not only was able to incorporate all of our wants into the plans, but their experience meant that they brought many great ideas to the overall plan as well. In hindsight, having a great set of plans is really the key component to a successful project. It is what brings your dream to fruition. Detailed, complete, and comprehensive plans make everything else happen correctly. It makes the bid process simple and easily understandable. It makes the communication between you and your builder so easy when most all questions are already answered in the plans. It makes the approval and permitting process with the city simple and easy. It makes the engineering aspects simple, as all the information is already correct and included in the plans. Everything about working with Richart Design was professional. Plans were correct, thorough, and easily understood. Communication with the office was always met with quick response. Most importantly, the communication with Jason about what we wanted, was answered with a set of plans that was exactly that – just what we wanted from our remodel, (which was pretty much a down to the studs rebuild). As the project wrapped up, we still feel the same about Jason and Richart Design – very satisfied and pleased with their work. When another project comes up for us, there is only one way to go for design and plans – Richart Design. When it is important, you need someone experienced and competent. We are very glad we had Richart Design on our team of professionals, they really made a positive difference on our project. The end result, we have exactly the dream house that we wanted, with all the features we initially discussed with Jason – and more. Thank you Jason, we really appreciate your work. I consider myself to have very high standards when it comes to performance and ability. I would recommend you with confidence, to anyone looking to start a build. I have been lucky enough to work with Jason both on my personal home as well as a client's home. He is a great guy and even better architect. He is very organized, creative and great at listening to feedback to work into the design. I highly suggest Richart Design for your next remodel or new build!

We have been working with Jason on a remodel/gut for a beach house in Newport Beach. Jason has been incredibly patient with each change we have made during the design process. I would guess I made between 20 and 30 changes/updates small and big. Each time Jason has happily made them! It was/is an absolute pleasure to work with him. If I flip the current home and purchase another that needs a remodel Jason is our guy. In addition, Jason put us in contact with several local reputable contractors for bids. This was very helpful as we do not live in the area where the home is located. I highly recommend Jason and his team if you are looking for an architect.

I highly recommend Jason Richart. I have changed my home plans three times and he has been very patient and strategic in meeting my needs. He has put a very good team around him and works well with the HOA. He doesn't get rattled. He is very connected with our vision and able to execute our plan to get what we want. Overall, I will use Jason on all of my future projects.

Jason is easy to work with. He listened to our goals and ideas for two room additions to our house. The plans he developed met our goals and maintained a sensitivity to the design cues incorporated into our house. The additions blend in well with the rest of the house. One of the challenges he was able to accommodate was the incorporation of an ADA-friendly bathroom into a room extension while maintaining a sense of proportion in the room. I used Jason for a consult on an existing job. He went above and beyond, helpful and willing to assist. Not many construction professionals are as willing to help when they aren’t certain they will get a project or think there is a large job coming. Shows a lot of character and is the kind of designer I would want on my team.

We interviewed several architects for our project, which started out as a renovation and addition, and ended up being a complete tear down. By this time, Jason was on board and was there to walk us through the process, constantly offering up great ideas to help us achieve our goals, while being sensitive to our overall budget. Being in the industry on the commercial side of the business, I am very familiar with budget overruns and schedule delays, so throughout the design process we were very thoughtful in our decisions to help avoid this as much as we could. Jason was a fantastic sounding board for our ideas, and he was incredibly knowledgeable about how much things cost, which really helped us design within our budget. Today we sit 3 months out from completion, and we are within budget and ahead of schedule. This would not have been possible without Jason's in-depth knowledge about costs, which we appreciate as much as his designs. Furthermore, we are very impressed with the house Jason designed for us, and we are now thinking this could be our forever home. If we were to do it all over again, Jason would absolutely be our architect.

My husband and I had the most amazing experience working with Jason Richart. Not only is he an expert in what he does, he is also a great person and very easy to work with. It was our first experience building a new home and Jason was extremely patient with us. He got to know us both personally and was able to cater a unique home and a floor plan specifically for our young family's interests and needs. Highly recommend him to anyone looking to do a remodel or new home build.

My family and I great appreciate the expert architectural design work that Jason provided to us on our home remodel. It was an extensive project, and one in which we wanted to protect certain areas of our house that we value and did not want to disturb. The outcome is marvelous. Throughout the process, Jason was attune to our preferences and accessible to us. He is skilled, knowledgeable and professional.

THE WORK WAS WELL THOUGHT OUT AND DONE IN A TIMELY MANNER. THEY BROUGHT UP IDEAS WE WERE NOT AWARE OF AND THE FINISHED PROJECT WAS PERFECT.

I have worked with Jason Richart for years (since 2010) and am starting a master bath remodel now (Feb 2019.) He is smart, creative, easy to work with and actually listens to client needs. Prices are fair. I cannot give specific details because of long time span and scope but I have only highest recommendation for Jason.

I hired Jason to provide plans for my home in CDM. I provided him scaled drawings and told him exactly what I wanted. He never visited the property himself and spent maybe 15 minutes total on my project. Every time I’d try to get in touch he was too busy and very rushed. I gave him my budget for the project (150k) he then insisted it was best & most cost effective to change the entire roof. I was skeptical but he assured me it was the most cost effective way. I waited months for the plans, paid for them, and then was quoted more than twice my budget ($300k+) by three different contractors. I then had to go back to Jason to redo the plans as I had originally asked for and he charged me again and took nearly 6 months to get them to me. And the plans are now useless. He cost me 11 months, and charges me $17k for useless plans. Do not use him!!!

When I bought my Mid Century "fixer upper" I was certain I could do most of the work myself, life is basically HGTV right? Well after realizing I couldn't do it all on my own, and two different contractors recommended Jason, I hired Richart Design. I am so glad I did! From our first meeting Jason understood my vision and was able to work with that against the city and state building codes to make my dream home come to life. He made permitting and working with the city as painless as is probably possible. Jason will be my first call when I remodel!

Jason is great...he is knowledgeable, very talented; and he was extremely patient with my wife and I guiding us through our vision into reality! He was very good at juggling the delicate balance between understanding our needs/giving us what we wanted; while still providing recommendations to help stay within budget and advice on decisions that we might not go the way we would think. We genuinely enjoyed working with Jason, it was a great all around experience and we highly recommend him!!

After interviewing several architects, we decided to hire Jason not only because he came highly recommended, but also because he understood both our vision and budget constraints. He was able to address the individual aspects of our project--adding about 800 sf, reconfiguring existing space, and redesigning the roof of our modest, midcentury home--while making sure that the final result was a cohesive, modern design. Jason was responsive, very easy to work with, and offered insightful suggestions as we revised various floor plans. We also greatly appreciated Jason's patience and sense of humor, both of which were essential to guiding our decision-making and managing our expectations. Overall, we had a pretty smooth approval process and are excited to start building.

We were very happy with Jason's plan for our small home addition. Jason was easy to work with, which we appreciated. He met with us at the beginning and we talked about some high level concepts. Then we gave him a list of things we liked/didn't like. When we got the first draft of the concepts, we were pleased. We had two choices and they were both exactly what we wanted - a more current version of our house. Once we agreed on the concept, the rest of the process (detailed plans and plan checks) was pretty straightforward. That part takes a little bit of time, but it all went smoothly. Jason has done two houses on our street and ours doesn't look like either of them, which we like.

Jason is a talented architect! He’s easy going and in our first meeting we knew he understood our style and home needs. He has great creative insight and suggestions and is very budget conscious. He translated our “vision” to paper beautifully! Jason was available to us whenever we needed, which was a lot in the beginning. He executed our plans completely and in a very timely manner. Jason and his team did such an excellent job designing our dream home! Jason listened to our needs and wants and delivered exactly what we wanted. He and his team are very flexible. We felt like we worked with friends since they were so understanding and friendly. When we needed changes, he was always on top of it. Jason was very fair and reasonable with his cost. An interior designer friend of mine, who is highly respected in her industry, referred me to Jason when I asked her for an architect to remodel my home. Up to this point my husband and I had interviewed several architects and were not impressed by any of them. Right after meeting with Jason the first time, my husband and I felt relieved and knew we had found "the guy". Jason designed an amazing home for our family that we will enjoy for many years. We worked with Jason and his team on a remodel of a new home we purchased that was 1200 sqft, and we were looking to add around 1000 sqft and update the existing interior and front of the house. Jason was a complete pleasure and heard all of the things that I wanted for the house and implemented them in our plans. Richart Design did the design work for us on a very difficult addition to our Great Room and decking. We live in the hills and the job required extensive engineering. Throughout the process Jason reacted to each challenge promptly and professionally. In addition to his design expertise he has the rare ability to successfully manage a project team including the client, contractor, and city/county officials. The finished product exceeded our expectations!

We hired Jason Richart to do our plans for our home in Mountains of Idaho which was something he had not done before. We have 4 seasons here and at times up to 8 ft of snow during the winter months which can be challenging on a roof and siding. We so pleased with the amazing layout, professionalism, being timely, making changes necessary and always returning our calls. After living in our home for over a year now, we are still very pleased with the flow and layout of our forever home. We receive so many compliments and would refer Jason to all our Family and Friends! We look forward to sharing our home and creating many memories!

Jason is an incredible architect. As an interior designer and developer, I have worked with many architects in my career. Jason stands out as one of the best I have had the pleasure to work with. He has high standards for his work and for his practice. He is straight forward and easy to work with.
