Sissela Malmstrom Architect

I am a full service single practitioner architect based in Palo Alto, California. I have over 25 years experience designing and managing both residential and commercial projects. In the past ten years, in my own practice, I have worked with residential and commercial projects located on the peninsula in the San Francisco Bay Area. I will approach your architecture project as a collaborative effort and bring my love of creating something exciting and wonderful into the process. I like to approach a design by looking at multiple solutions that I can put into opposition. This forces me not cling to the first scheme that begins to form. I will develop solutions to a point where they can inform each other of the various options and where potential exists and potential problems might reside and will create a fuller background to discuss the project with you. We will meet, pin up and layout the sketches. This moment is potentially the most fun and creative within the whole process where we will listen to each other, spark ideas and walk away with a new understanding that neither of us would have first imagined. I then will take this and develop the design. I believe the key to a successful project lies in the communication between the client, the design team, consultants and contractors. I will orchestrate the process and keep everyone informed.
