ROYAL Decks and Landscapes

Thank you to Miro and the team at Royal Decks for our backyard project this summer! When we initially met with Miro, we didn’t really know how to best use our backyard space. Miro was very patient and took the time to understand us and our constraints. He came back with some sound advice and proposals that we loved! Every step of the way, we worked with professionals who kept us informed and stress-free. There were no surprises- we have the landscaping, deck, and pergola that we expected. l have to particularly thank Steve, our Project Manager and his team, Arthur, Chris, who really made this a great experience for us. We have already, and will continue to recommend Royal Decks to our friends. Their quality of work is outstanding!

We are extremely pleased with our new deck. From start to finish, dealing with Royal Decks has been a very positive experience. Miro was very professional and helpful in preparing the original plans and specifications. Likewise the team of Dave and Russell who built the deck was absolutely top notch. They put a great deal of effort into ensuring that this was a quality structure. I had thought that such old fashioned attention to detail and craftsmanship had died out in Canada. I have no reservations about recommending Royal Decks to any potential client.

Dealing with Royal Decks has been an endlessly frustrating experience. We had 4 quotes for decks and we picked them because they were the most expensive and had good reviews on Homestars and Miro seems like a genuinely nice guy. You pay a hefty deposit ($5000) up front to save the dates 2 months in advance. What was quoted as a 7-10 day job took 2.5 months...always caught up in other jobs. They just disappear for weeks and really don't seem to care. The weather was fine so that wasn't an excuse. You pick out your material months before but they keep having to order it (sorry don't have the plants, and sorry don't have the railings) etc which leads to delays again and again. They made some big mistakes and gave us poor options to fix them. Some of their problems were related to their poor communication with other tradespeople who all were upset by Royal Decks behaviour. What should have been a straightforward relatively small but expensive job has been headache after headache. Problem is once you've spent the money what recourse do you have? Would never recommend them.

We can't say enough great things about Royal Decks; what a positive experience! Miro from Royal Decks was a pleasure to work with as was the team (Steve, Patrick and Chris) assigned for our project. The team was familiar with the requirements of the project including building permits for the City of Toronto, and adhered to or exceeded on all facets. We began the process of replacing our builder supplied deck last June. We hired Miro's company to build our deck and he agreed to get the permits we needed as well. The permit process took months but his staff were patient and did all the work for us in getting our permits. After months we got our final permits in January and Miro's crew (Steve, Patrick and Chris) started construction March. His crew were very professional, secured the job site every night before they left. They were able to easily accommodate some last minute changes and still finished on time. Miro was very patient, accommodating and easy to work with. His crew was friendly and were not put off by our young children watching them through the windows. We are very happy with our finished deck and can't wait to have our friends over to show it off. We would recommend Royal Decks to anyone.

Miro and his crew were fantastic to work with. They showed up and did the work professionally and got the job done when they said they would even when there were a few snags along the way due to weather and issues with the buried rocks from the houses construction. My wife and I can't recommend them enough. The end result was fantastic and was a great compliment to our pool.

We recently completed a rear deck with porch cover with Miro from Royal Decks. We can't say enough about the quality and customer service that Royal Decks brought to our project. Miro is a true professional in his field. We started our deck planning process with Miro in the summer of 2013, although we did not start our deck until the following summer (this due to our indecision over the look we wanted!) We had a vision of what we wanted to achieve and Miro worked along with us to shape our ideas into reality. Miro was very patient and understanding of us as we worked with him to design what we wanted. We think we must have had 15 versions of a deck, before we settled on a final concept. During our period of indecision, Miro was always very patient and helpful. He readily provided his technical expertise and design insights to each layout we came up with. Miro was very straightforward and honest in telling us what was possible and what wouldn't work. After every design change we went through, he always provided us with an accurate materials quote and drawing. Nothing is left for guesswork. From walking through the design process with Miro, we could tell that he has a deep passion towards each new project, and that he was focused on making sure we arrived at the look we wanted. He never rushed us. On each construction day during our project, Miro's team were always punctual. The team was always very approachable and accommodating to any concerns during the build process. Miro was always able to address any problems and minor changes in a timely fashion. As our project required a roof, Miro's team took extra care towards achieving the desired appearance, slope, drainage, and seamless tie-in to our existing roof. Miro's team often worked long days (often 10 to 12 hours) in humid August heat to meet the project timelines. However, no step on the effort was ever rushed. From watching the carpenters work, one could tell that they were very meticulous to each measure, cut, and angle. Miro does not sacrifice quality for the sake of schedule. Each day the job site was kept clean and organized. Miro's team was very accomodating to other trades (electrician and gas line installer) who were involved in our project, We are very happy with our new deck, and would highly recommend Miro and Royal Decks to anyone in need of a deck or other framing work. Royal Decks built our deck in North York in June 2014 - within timing and budget. I feel lucky we found them as it was probably our best experience out of our quite reach history dealing with various building / home improving companies. We enjoyed working with Royal Decks from the stage of the quote submission to finishing the project. We chose Royal Deck out of several companies who provided the quotations - we were working with Julian on design and price: he was very punctual, responsive and creative to help us to find a way to get the perfect design meeting our needs (upscale look and feel, privacy, low maintenance, practicality - e.g. shed under the higher level, space for gazebo) within the budget. They started the project exactly when they promised. Royal Decks demonstrated high quality of craftsmanship and attention to details. Everyone we worked with demonstrated high level of professionalism and understanding of our needs, they were flexible to accommodate our changing requests during the project and showed absolutely great customer service in dealing with and fixing of few day-to-day issues during the project. We received several quotes to build a deck at our house and decided to go with Miro of Royal Decks. Not only was their design the nicest, their price point was also the most reasonable for what was offered. Miro was patient and pleasant throughout the whole design/decision process and his team of builders that included Steve, were punctual, polite and tidy. They worked fast to get the deck built in time for the nice turn in weather and now we're looking forward to decorating and using the deck for the warmer months!
