Chris Payson and his team at West Chester D/B are some of the most professional, passionate and pleasant folks I have experienced in the remodeling industry. They produce excellent projects and have a great reputation that brings them several repeat customers each year. Chris is a very humble and compassionate husband, father, business owner and friend that lives out his faith daily. Treating people with honesty and integrity is among his highest traits and I strongly recommend them if your considering a home renovation.

Working with WCDB to remodel my kitchen was a really great experience. They are the nicest group of people I have ever worked with. From the initial consultation with Chris to interacting with Jim on the computer design and cabinet selection, to having Anna help with material selections. Their knowledge and input was extremely helpful and morphed a few pictures and ideas I had into a great design for my limited space. My project manager Dave was awesome! I’m a bit of a picky person and a worrier but I could not recommend a nicer, harder working person. He answered all my questions handled all my small additional requests with ease and patience. One additional shout out to Norm for working on the mechanical! Really a great group of people and great company that does quality work. I now have a kitchen I love and that my niece calls beautiful thanks to WCDB.

We hired West Chester Design Build in 2014 to do a complete overhaul to a foreclosed home that we had recently purchased which had been vacant for over 2 years. Chris worked closely with us to help us design the home of our dreams, which included taking the entire home down to the studs as well as adding a 2-story addition off the back. I was amazed with how easily they were able to take my ideas and vision and turn it into a reality. Their in-house designer was a great asset in keeping me on schedule with choosing the right finishes at the right time. We checked in on the progress quite often and their employees were always willing to show us what they were working on at the time and address any issues or concerns we had. There were a lot of changes we made along the way and Chris was incredibly helpful in assuring we would be happy with the end result. We are so grateful to have found such a qualified and skilled company to help us build our home! Everyone who walks through our doors remarks on what a beautiful home it is.

Chris and his team helped make our vision a reality. WCDB put the pieces together for us from the design through the final construction. We recently wrapped up a kitchen/dining room renovation in our standard Cape Cod style home. The project kicked off with very professional meetings with Chris and Jim who brought forth excellent design options and a budget that we could work with. I can’t say enough good things about our experience working with West Chester Design & Build. We were 110% satisfied. From the start to the finish they were fantastic. For the design work, they presented us with multiple options, and gave real thought to solutions. The process was smooth, and they showed us everything in a 3D computer simulation. Just as good or better was the construction process. I’ve worked on a lot of buildings (commercial) and homes, and I’ve never had a more professional and thoughtful construction crew. They showed genuine care and concern throughout the entire process, placed a primacy on quality fit and finish, and put customer satisfaction first. They communicated with us daily and let us know everything that was going on. They got everything done on time and on budget – in fact, it was a lot faster than most other companies could have done. Taking on a total kitchen remodel sounds stressful, but working with West Chester Design & Build has brought us a lot of ease. We suffered water and mold damage in our kitchen and West Chester Design/Build was able to help us navigate us through the process of dealing with our insurance company. They listened to our concerns, followed-up quickly, and made a difficult situation manageable.

Chris and his team were very helpful and professional even though we didn't go forward with our project. They came to our home on several occasions to consult, measure, then present the very cool 3D designs. They in no way put any pressure on us to close a deal or push us into something we were not ready to do. They were honest and up-front as to what the cost would be so there were no surprises.

Chris and his team helped us to redesign our kitchen and laundry room and we are very, very pleased with the outcome. Chris and the team at WCDB were a joy to work with throughout our renovation The floor plans they presented to us were well thought out and we love our new space. Our project was pretty complex as we not only added roughly 700 sq ft of new living space but also had WCDB completely change the layout of our existing space. Chris and the team got back to us quickly when we wanted to change certain aspects of the plan and were very flexible. The house was completely transformed from a 1,200 square foot segmented 60's ranch home to a 2,000 square foot craftsman with the wide open floor plan most families like. Their craftsmanship, ideas and attention to detail created a space that our growing family loves. We may never move! Update (9/2/16): We are so thankful and impressed with Chris Payson and WCDB. We had an issue with water in our house recently. We didn't know what the issue was so we called WCDB. Chris came out immediately. He inspected the house went up into our small attic, took pictures and found out that there was an issue with condensation and our air conditioning unit. This unit was not installed by WCDB. This issue had nothing to do with their construction. It only showed again why this is a great company to work with and how they support their clients even two years after a project has ended. Thank you for ensuring that this was only a minor issue with your quick response!

West Chester Design/Build LLC met my needs for renovating the first floor interior of my home. It was a large undertaking that included totally renovating 2 bathrooms, living room with new fireplace, dining room with new French doors, bedrooms with new closets, etc. Prior to renovation, Chris Payson discussed my plans to have the home updated from the 50’s look to a more modern style. In addition, accessibility requirements were addressed since I have a disability such as making a place to install a wash/dryer on the first floor, widening the doorways and meeting accessible codes for the bathroom. Chris and his team demonstrated professionalism and open communication throughout the renovation. One of the most important things to me was that they returned calls in a timely manner. Overall, I was very pleased with the finished results. Although the cost was slightly higher, this was due, in part, to my upgrading items on the contract. I would highly recommend this company.

We had a 2500 square foot basement remodel done by West Chester Design Build. The project included several rooms, a complete kitchen and full bath with high end finishes. The team at WDB was very professional and did a fantastic job. The owner Chris Payson, was really easy to work with and helped us come up with a great design for our space. Our project manager, Wes Yoder, was very responsive to our requests and concerns throughout the project. He was always available. The team did a great job handling and unexpected issues that popped up during the remodel. Norm Mueller, the plumber was outstanding, and even fixed problems that cropped up from our original home builder. I also enjoyed working with Kim Caulfield, their in-house designer. . She met me at several locations to help pick out materials for the project as well as researching options online and sending them to me. Josh, the electrician, came up with many good lighting and electrical ideas. Their cost was a bit higher than others we interviewed, but you get what you pay for (a fantastic job!). The tiling quotes were a bit too high, so we opted to get those done on our own after the project was completed. We brought in our own cabinetmaker for the kitchen cabinets and built ins and he took longer than expected. WDB was very accommodating even though I'm sure it threw off their own project schedule. They are a great company to work with and would not hesitate in recommending them to anyone.

Chris Payson and his team at WCDB did a great job remodeling entirely our 1000+ sq. ft. of basement. From the initial phase of design, planning, budgeting, to timely execution we were very pleased. Chris's attitude and professionalism was outstanding and always closed to project and when we needed him. He provided ideas and ways to be considered during the initial phase which were very helpful aiming to improve the functionality and the look of the space. The end result surpassed our expectations. Brian, our project manager was detailed oriented providing superb customer service while managing the different crews very effective. Chris is highly recommended when someone has a project that requires quality of execution.

From the start Chris and his team were courteous, responsive, professional and they really know what they are doing. You will get a top quality job from this company. They are worth every dollar. I brought my thoughts to the table on what I wanted to do and how I wanted to accomplish it with our house. Chris could have just agreed, taken my money and done what I planned. In the end Chris sat down with me, listened to what my family's needs were and offered suggestions. In the end Chris' attention to my project and planning simplified our project and saved me at least $10,000. What would have been a complicated addition in my mind, ended up being an easy fit-out due to his creativity. I highly recommend Chris and his team. Chris came to our house to discuss a laundry room and basement remodel. Chris had great design ideas to help us maximize space and make the space we have more functional for our family. He thought of so many things that we had not even considered and was very honest about things he could and could not do based on cost and/or space limitations. I'm very excited to get started with the projects and see his ideas come to life!

How often does a contractor talk you out of your ideas for an inappropriate remodel? If you are looking for integrity and honesty, Chris is your man. Based on our particular needs and future plans, Chris gave his honest opinion and advised against our redesign ideas. The immediate result of his helpful consultation is that we are not pursuing this particular project. The long term result is that he will be the first person I call for ALL my future remodel and redesign projects.

WCD&B just finished our kitchen and we recommend them without reservation. Chris Payson really took the time at the start to understand our goals, our limitations, and our concerns about "land-mines" we had experienced before with other projects. His projected budget and timeline was almost right-on, with very few surprises along the way. Our project manager, Wes, was a great communicator, always available to discuss anything, and really kept the project on track in terms of schedule/timing. Every sub-contractor/employee who entered our home was friendly and professional, often taking the time to explain what they suggested and why if there was any question or decision that had to be made. At the end of each day/week, our home was well taken care of, organized, and cleaned up as much as possible in a construction-zone! Many thanks to Chris, Wes, and the rest of the team for a job well done. We are thrilled with the result! (Update as of 2 months post-reno: When I texted Wes about an issue that cropped up again with our refrigerator - after he had fixed it initially as part of the punch-list - he responded right away and the problem was fixed within the week with no additional charge. We appreciated the timely response, despite the fact that our project was finished and paid for.)

In early 2015 I first started to get to know Chris Payson and in short order I came to respect Chris and the work that West Chester Design/Build does. The two of us are on the same national, industry-specific business owners roundtable and because of that group I was able to learn a great deal about the company and what makes them tick. I can't quite put my finger on it but there is something unique to Chris's approach to the world and his willingness to and ability to attack a problem and get great results. His approach is fresh and kind and clearly serves his clients well. His commitment to creating a happy and healthy work environment is unusual in our industry but speaks volumes about his long term commitment to the industry and the community his company serves. If I was half as wise as Chris at his age my business would be in an even better place today. West Chester's future is bright. Hiring them would be a very good idea!

WC D/B finished our basement, including a play area, theater/entertainment space with a wet bar, and full bathroom. Every step was performed professionally and efficiently, and the project was completed on time, even with a relatively quick requested time to completion. Everyone we worked with brought exceptional skill and professionalism to the table, and they proved highly valuable, for example when dealing with third parties in design issues. When we ran into an issue with one aspect provided by a third party, we found that third party to be quick with a response and repair went forward without any issue. The project has truly changed the way we use our house. The kids love their new play area and not a day goes by that we don't get significant enjoyment out of our basement.

We have enjoyed getting to know and working with West Chester. Chris is extremely knowledgeable and personable. Anyone considering hiring this team for top notch quality home improvement will not be disappointed. Very organized and professional!

I just had the opportunity to spend three days at an interactive conference with Chris & Angela Payson. At these round table meetings, I had the opportunity to take a behind the scenes look of how they run their business. It was great to see the highest ethical standards at the center of everything they do. The way they care for their clients, how they treat their trade partners with the highest respect & how they care for their employees like they are family. I would highly recommend the West Chester Design team.

We purchased a new home (35 yrs. old) and wanted to do some extensive renovations while still still living at our old property waiting for it to sell. I contacted WCDB based on Angie's List reviews. Chris Payson arrived promptly for our meeting and we discussed the scope of the project. We decided to hire them and had a wonderful experience with the company. The kitchen was completely gutted down to the studs - walls removed and moved, plumbing and gas lines rerouted, old window removed replaced with a smaller one - brick floor jack hammered out - awkward existing sliders in dining room removed and replaced with drywall - walls on either side of opening between dining room and family room were changed from full walls to half walls to open up the space. The small master bath was also gutted - a fiberglass shower stall was removed and replaced with a larger, fully tiled shower. Chris has assembled an amazing crew - one to be envied by any reputable contractor. From the beginning we were provided with a detailed contract and payment schedule - all the bases were covered. Chris also prepared 2 sets of detailed blueprints showing 2 options of how everything could be laid out . I had never contracted such a large project but I knew I was in good hands. The work began promptly after the first deposit was made. The workers always showed up when they were supposed to and put in full days. When they left for the day, everything was swept and left as neatly as possible. There was constant communication between the delightful Kimberly and myself. She was invaluable at helping things stay on schedule - always available to provide help or advice in making all the hundreds of choices and decisions that had to be made.The workers were pleasant and personable and I came to think of them as new friends. Norm the plumber was amazing. He found and repaired many issues with existing water and drain lines that we were not aware of. While working in the crawl space, he found and alerted us to a major foundation issue that had been missed by our "professional" inspector. I felt he really cared that everything was done correctly - I truly felt that way about everyone that worked here. Brian was a jack of all trades - he did a beautiful job on the tile work in the master bath. Ethan the carpenter was wonderful and did everything to perfection. Josh the electrician was also exceptional - I chose to have a lot of extra electrical work done and he suggested things I wasn't aware of or would never have thought of - he did an amazing job of fishing a wire about 20 feet through the family room ceiling down through a center ceiling beam in order to install a ceiling fan - completely hidden. On his own - he wanted to get our outside flood lights working - he found the problem and now they are working perfectly. This project went on for approximately 8 months - at no time was I frustrated or disappointed with the work being done. It probably could have been accomplished more quickly, but I told them there was no rush as I was waiting till our other property to sell. Thanks to WCDB, we are now living in our dream home. If you want the best - look no further. Thanks guys!!!!!

We had a great experience with West Chester Design and Build. We came home from vacation to find our first floor and finished basement ruined by a burst pipe, and Chris Payson and West Chester DB made our house a home again. Before awarding the contract to WCDB, we met with several contractors that all came to our house and said the same thing, "tell us what you want, and we'll work up a price." When Chris came to our house and met with us the first time, he immediately started making suggestions for changes and improvements to our kitchen and living areas. His vision was right in line with ours. Chris was always responsive and easy to reach when we had questions, his work crew is staffed with professionals that not only did stellar work but were always on time, friendly, and cleaned up at the end of every day. WCDB's designer, Kimberly, was incredibly helpful and always available when we had questions or needed help. She made sure that we made all of our design decisions on time and worked to keep the entire project on schedule. She was instrumental in helping us make several critical design decisions such as helping us to choose paint colors, carpet, counter tops, and back splash. We can't say enough good things about WCDB!

Detail oriented, personable, flexible are all words that come to my mind with this group that worked on our "whole" house project. Every person was concerned about the quality of their individual work and cared deeply about "making it right." As a mom with two young children (and a dog), they were understanding and wonderful to work with in our home. Our job was a complicated one which involved several different bathrooms, kitchen, and living areas. Each one was completed within the budget and time frame we had agreed upon. I hired West Chester Design and Build to replace an old wood deck with a screened in porch and composite deck. We had several other companies look at the project and WCDB had the best ideas for the project. The team that did the project was great. The craftsmanship was fantastic and the team was incredibly respectful to my family during the project. I thought they also provided a tremendous value with regard to the quote. I didn't get any surprises during the project, no extra fee's for something i thought should be included. WCBD delivered more than i expected in the project. I would highly recommend WCBD!

We were very pleased with West Chester Design/Build for our remodel project. Overall, I give them an “A” rating, and highly recommend them. We did a complete master bathroom gut/remodel, and had the master bedroom ceiling converted to a vaulted ceiling with skylights, recessed lighting, ceiling fan. I’ve never done a project this large before, so this was my first experience with a contractor doing major renovations. Chris Payson took time to understand what we wanted to do, and offered very good suggestions for changes, which we agreed to, and are very happy with. Chris and his crew were very responsive to all questions and any concerns during construction. He has some excellent staff ... Brian the project lead and head carpenter, Norm the plumber, the tile guy (cannot recall his name), and Eddie the painter. I have done lots of home improvement projects myself in the last 30 years, and have watched hundreds of the home improvement shows on TV, so I know what should be done, and have very high expectations for the quality of work. These guys care, and are committed to doing it right!

I have had various projects done by this company and I can safely say that customers will not be disappointed by the quality of professionalism exhibited both by Chris and his experienced staff for services rendered. They weren't the lowest estimate, but they will come back for the smallest details as many times as requested. Their goal is to please the customer! A quality design/build firm!

I focused on the details in Chris's past projects on-line (pictures). This is what lead me to obtain an estimate from West Chester Build and Design. Once Chris came out to took a look at our basement project we saw eye to eye on exactly what I was looking for in the design and how we would use the space not only for today but years down the road. Once we contracted I surprised at how quickly they were able to start. The project took alittle longer than I expected but the results were worth the extra time. There was alot of detail involved and I made sure to talk to everyone on the team during the construction process. This I believed helped streamlined the process and dodge any future problems. The basement project included a full bath, full kitchen/bar, kids playroom. laundry room, and living room/game room. In my opinion it's not only added value to the home but it's also a completly diiffent level from the way the rest of the house looks. Everyone who goes down there, the first word out of there mouth is WOW!! My design was to incoporate another living area in our home (In-law suite), It was a Big project and I was very sketical of another contractor but Chris reassurred me throught out the process he would make sure I was happy when it was done. Chris achevied this. So Thank You to the whole team for putting together what I thought was only a dream.

I contacted this group to provide a proposal on a basement bathroom and closet. My initial conversation was very informative. Chris gave me numerous things to consider that other contractors had not. He was highly knowledgeable and practical in his recommendations. He came out on very short notice and provided a thorough assessment of the project and what it would take to do it properly. He also provided a clear sense of options to reduce cost as necessary. Ultimately we decide not to proceed with the project but I had an exceptionally positive experience and interaction with this company and will certainly go back to them for future projects.

Chris and his team at West Chester Design / Build, LLC were great to work with and we are very much enjoying the work they did on our home about 3 years ago! First of all, kudos to Chris for his flexibility - he originally mapped out a plan for a full basement renovation, but at the last-minute, we changed our minds and decided to put that project on hold and renovate the partially finished attic into a bedroom suite instead. Chris changed gears right away and came up with a design (including re-working the stairs) that added a beautiful large bedroom and bathroom to our home - and it doesn't feel like I'm living "in the attic" at all! The team executed everything to our satisfaction and beyond. The whole crew was courteous and respectful. It was a pleasure to work with West Chester Design / Build. To be fair, things weren't always perfect (home reno projects never are), but I appreciated that Chris was always response to our questions and very fair about any issues that arose. To this day, I continue to recommend WCDB to others knowing that Chris will always give sound advice and an honest quote.

WCD/B finished my basement in the fall of 2013 and I could not be happier with the final product! The whole team was so helpful from start to finish. I wanted a wall of shelves and cabinets, and Chris had a great suggestion to use a cabinet maker in Lancaster to create all the pieces and then the WCD/B carpenters assembled them in my basement. I now have a unique, custom-designed set of built-ins at about half the cost of what it would've been from other cabinet makers or home improvement stores. The interior designer, Kimberly, has a really great eye for design and was a gem with helping me select carpeting, tiles, paint colors, and fabric for a new sofa and pillows. Brian and Wes and the guys did an awesome job with the construction and electrical work and always kept me in the loop as to what the next steps were, double-checked with me where I wanted light switches and outlets, and completely cleaned up every night before they left. They were very responsive to all my questions and were prompt and courteous throughout the whole duration of the project. They even fixed errors that were made by the carpet installers and by Verizon. I HIGHLY recommend West Chester Design/Build!!

Contractors are everywhere, but finding one who is conscientious of your time, your money and ultimately your home, is a daunting task. After making several selections from Angie's List we settled on West Chester Design/Build, LLC and cancelled subsequent contractor interviews. Owner Chris Payson and his team worked efficiently around our busy schedules and we were pleased that the crew were experts in their craft. The finishing of our basement which includes an entertainment room, full bath, storage area, closet and office, were done with minimal disruptions to our everyday routine. The team listened to our needs, made suggestions, and became like family at the end of the project. Once done the team followed up with us to be sure we were satisfied with the job . . . and we certainly are! West Chester Design/Build, LLC did a quality job and we would not hesitate to recommend them to others.

We used West Chester Design / Build in 2012. Chris Payson and The West Chester Design Team were amazing ! On time everyday, cleaned up everyday. Brought us great ideas that we had never thought of doing. We hired West Chester Design/Build to finish our basement back in late 2011/early 2012. From start to finish Chris was great to work with - very responsive, knowledgable and easy to work with. His team was exceptional! Extremely talented carpenters, plumber, & electrician. They were very respectful, hard working, cleaned up after themselves, and were just all around nice people. The project took a bit longer than we had hoped due to some delays with some of the materials, but it was worth the wait as the finished product is absolutely amazing and we are thoroughly enjoying the space. Absolutely every single person who enters our basement (and trust me, that's a lot of people!) comments on how fantastic it looks and how well done it is. Even a couple of years later our basement remains the envy of the neighborhood! I would highly recommend West Chester Design/Build to anyone, and I look forward to taking on future home remodeling projects with them! I hired West Chester Design/Build to finish the basement and they did a outstanding job. Chris was patient, kind and respectful to all of our design choices. The folks that work for him were pleasant, helpful and cleaned up after themselves. The job took a little longer than expected, however the end result was a perfectly finished basement. They took care of all of the items on our punchlist and even found ways to discount our bottom line in the end. The entire team was amicable, showed professional workmanship and did an overall great job. The basement looks awesome! I would recommend Chris to anyone considering a remodel/finish job.

After interviewing several contractors, I knew the first instant I met Chris, we were going to hire him and West Chester Design/Build. They are truly a "family" of builders, designers, and staff members that all look out for each other and worked together to create an amazing living space for us. We hired his team to finish our basement including a family room, a bathroom, a bar area and a room for a pool table. I say "we" because it was a real collaboration in which we changed our minds (twice) half way through the construction and WCDB didn't even flinch. They simply adjusted accordingly and went about their business like it was in the plans all along. Chris was extremely flexible, professional and did an excellent job organizing his collection of workers to produce an remarkable product.

We hired Chris and his team to finish a bonus room above the attic and also finish our basement. The basement now has a large workout facility, a wet bar, and family recreational area. The projects went very smoothly. Chris brought great ideas to us in his designs. He worked with us and loved to bring our personalities into the projects. He really listened to who we were and brought that into the design. His team was fabulous to work with. The were prompt, courteous, and meticulous in their work. At the end of each day they would fully clean up the area so it was neat as a pin. It made our lives easier. They were a joy to work with. We would hire them again in a heart beat.

We hired West Chester Design/Build for our kitchen remodel in the spring of 2013. Chris Payson and his team did a fantastic job! Brian, Wes, and Norm were on time, courteous, and conscientious about their work. Brian was the lead carpenter and he was extremely organized and efficient. He took care of problems and details and he gave me his cell number so that I could contact him if necessary. Brian is an excellent craftsman. Wes is also a talented craftsman and hard worker. His tile work is beautiful. Norm is a very experienced plumber with a fun sense of humor. He even came back months later to take care of a problem with our dishwasher. Chris was very hands on as well. He worked with us and the kitchen design center where we purchased our cabinets which made the process much smoother than we anticipated. He also offered design advice which was helpful since we had never done a remodel before. I highly recommend using West Chester Design/Build for your remodel needs. These guys are a class act!

From the framers to the painters, these guys were incredibly good! Finishing my basement was the first, major home project my wife and I set out to do so naturally, I was skeptical of every company who provided me a quote. After visiting w/ four different people, I was particularly impressed with Chris Payson of West Chester Design Build. I appreciated his professionalism, his vision for my space, his follow-up and his fair, detailed quote. (of note: There were no surprise expenses along the way.) After selecting WCDB, I was equally impressed to see how much cooperation their was between Chris's employees. The plumber, framer, drywall installers, electrician and designer all worked well as a team. There was productive communication between all of them throughout the project. I work from home so I saw it every day firsthand! I popped in on the project often (about twice/day) and I also noticed that these guys never cut corners! On the contrary, I'd see them do extra. I recall the plumber pointing out and fixing an existing plumbing issue that would have otherwise gone unnoticed. That kind of extra effort and attention to detail gave me added confidence that these guys wouldn't disappoint. Their designer, Kimberly, was also involved throughout the process. She came up with a great design for my space. I needed some "hand holding" throughout the project to pick out colors, patterns, carpet, tile etc and she was always accessible. In short...she was great. Lastly, don't worry about privacy. Everyone was considerate of me and my family and kept all the work flow through the bilcow doors. These guys also bring their own portable toilet and position it discreetly behind their construction dumpster so I never even had to share my bathroom. They were very clean too! My favorite part of the day was checking progress in the evening. I had no problems taking my 4 year old downstairs every night because the area was always left swept, cleaned and organized...every night. My basement is now a transformed, 1000 square ft living area with a wet bar and play room. I highly recommend West Chester Design Build!

Every person that came to came to complete the different pieces of my job was curteous, on time & professional. I felt safe having them in my house and best of all they cleaned up nicer than it was when they arrived. Also the quality of work was way beyond what I expected for such a fabolous price. I did not have a ton of money to spend and the first estimate I got would have made me bankrupt. Their estimate was reasonable and their work was of a higher quality I think than I would have gotten if I had paid the person who gave me the ridicolous first estimate. I will be bringing them back to do more work when I have saved some more money for home improvements guaranteed! I believe they offer a better overall service, at a better price than anyone else!

West Chester Design / Build, LLC Kitchen renovation was primary project - wood floors, cabinets/crown molding trim, granite counter top, ceiling lighting / under cabinet lighting and fixtures - dishwasher, microwave and kitchen ceiling fan. Wood floors in the connecting family room, dining room and foyer were also part of the project. From estimate through project completion, the personal service touch was always evident. We were provided creative ideas and options for product purchase that worked for our budget. Total project cost was approximately $28,000 - could have been higher or lower dependent upon our choice of product line. The team was timely with deadlines and responded promptly to all questions. Attention to detail was evident throughout as craftsmanship subtleties added to the excellent work provided. At the end of each work day clean-up occurred to include orderliness of their work area and storage areas for their equipment and supplies. All members of the team were courteous, polite and accommodating throughout the approximate eight week project. As a design/build company the work flow progressed without a hiccup as the specialists were all part of the team. We were appreciative of being able to reduce overall costs by accomplishing much of the demolition work and doing the painting ourselves. We highly recommend them!

Chris Payson and the team at WCDB did a fantastic job on our home remodel from Jan-Mar 2013. The WCDB team is very professional, honest, and courteous organization which puts a high priority on customer service and high quality finishes. WCDB remodeled our entire home which included a higher-end kitchen, two full bathrooms, powder room, laundry room, family room, hardwood floors, new moldings, and interior doors. We hired West Chester Design and Build to do an extensive kitchen remodel. They designed a completely new kitchen layout with a new island, window, and arched entryway. Their workmanship was topnotch and throughout the project they asked for our input to ensure that the kitchen was exactly what we wanted. Honestly, I can’t say enough about how great the guys were and I wouldn’t hesitate to hire any one of them again for a future project. In addition to being incredibly talented at what they do, they were courteous and very respectful of our privacy and of our home. In addition to the amazing team that built the kitchen, they also have an interior designer on staff that can help with everything from selecting paint color and tiles to designing a decorative backsplash. She has an amazing eye and really helped make some of the tougher design decisions a breeze. I doubt any kitchen remodel goes without incident. During the project, we hired another company to replace the kitchen flooring and they burst a pipe flooding our garage. Even though it had nothing to do with West Chester, one of the guys came over at 5:30 straight from another job site and he worked until 8 to fix the pipe so that we would have running water again. This was all organized by Chris Payson, the owner, while he was on vacation. I think that kind of responsiveness really sets West Chester Design and Build apart. When things go badly, you want to know that the team will go the extra mile to make it right. The fact that they fixed this when it wasn’t even their mistake says a lot about their commitment to making the project a success. The team created an amazing kitchen that has all of our friends in awe and that we will love for years to come.

West Chester Design finished our basement and did a fantastic job. Chris provided us with a great design which we hadn't thought of and looks fantastic. The entire team was professional, clean and did super work. Basement looks awesome and the kids haven't left it since it was done! Project was complete, on time, on budget and on spec. I would highly recommend Chris to anyone considering a remodel/finish job.

Chris and his crew: Brian (main carpenter & project manager), Wes (carpenter), Norm (plumber), and Scott (electrician) were absolutely fantastic. We haven't left the room since it's been finished! Chris understood our vision and executed it better than we could have imagined. He presented us with a color drawing to show us his plan for the room, which helped us to envision the room. Along the way, when the group had ideas that would add to the space, they brought them to us. More often than not, we went with those ideas. Also we had a tight timeline because we were expecting a baby & the whole crew worked with us along the way. They were extremely flexible, respectful, trustworthy, and professional at all times. We would definitely recommend them and use them again.
