The Cooper team delivered a magnificent updated renovation to my homes 1950 kitchen and ancillary spaces (butler pantry, laundry, and family room). Lead by Project Manager, Nate and Interior Designer, Staci, the project was planned and executed on time and exactly as I had imagined. Cooper has exceptional trade support that completed everything from electrical, cabinetry, floors, and panel restoration to finish work, paint and wallpaper. Executing specific aesthetic details was important to me, Staci was able to provide detailed drawings and guide me to make material and finish selections that fit my vision to a tee. The team proactively communicated every step and supported resolving issues when they came up, immediately. I would recommend Cooper Design Build to anyone planning to undergo a renovation or remodel for their ability to plan, manage, execute and deliver on time and on budget.

The Cooper team is a group of excellent communicators and was able to effectively take a vision and make it into a reality that fit our budget. They listened and addressed our concerns and questions quickly, and we always knew what was happening — no surprises! The floor plan, which includes an addition and new flow in the back of the house, feels like it has always been there. The seamless connection between old and new helped maintain the mid-century modern vibe we love about the house while infusing it with 21st century convenience. The team stuck to our budget and maneuvered covid hiccups with patience and creativity. And our project manager Dave treated our home with care and attention to detail as though it was his own — what more can you ask for?!

Cooper Design Builder, deserve an excellent review for exceptional after-sales care and services, reliable and honest process, relatively good quality work, and great professionalism from all their staff and subcontractors. If there is ONE thing to complain about... it is their price. But if we pay peanuts, we tend to get monkeys! I do not often write reviews but I am inspired to write this review because: 1) I am so thankful for the beautiful sunroom, kitchen and bathrooms, especially during this Covid19 times. 2) Even after a year of living in my remodeled space, Cooper’s staff will pick up my call, come over, and work with manufacturers to replace a black faucet that had chipped paint. (Their staff are always responsive. If a problem is not urgent, they do take a little more time but they have been good about getting back to me.) I have a 1980’s home. I started my remodel in Sept 2018, Cooper completed their work in 6 months as promised. They delivered beautiful work on time, and within budget. We had no big surprises!! Their process was easy to follow and as stress free as remodeling can be. And most of all, Lane (the owner) is a charming, down-to-earth, and reasonable person who values relationships with his clients. When we had some disagreements in our billing or construction, Lane was willing to sit down and go through all the numbers and facts, and he walked us through the process to help us see what we were missing. Lastly, a shout out to Lane, Wes, Courtney, Dave, Britton, Susan, Rene and few others who have done minor works in my home. I ❤️ my home and am reminded of all you everyday. Thank you all.

Cooper did a big and complex bathroom remodel/addition for us on our 1930 home. 1.5 terrible bathrooms became 3.5 beautiful bathrooms that feel like they've always been there. In addition, they completed the work ahead of schedule and got us back in the house just as COVID-19 was closing the city (world!). Real professionals. Very good control over their subs. They know old houses.

We partnered with Lane and the Cooper team on a very ambitious remodel of a historic home. We had a very tight timeline of 5 months from when we started (our rental property was expiring with no option to extend). As is often the case with projects like this, the scope increased significantly as we learned more about the house we had just purchased. We were really impressed with how responsive the team was, and how hard they worked to make our deadline. Throughout the process, their communication was excellent and everyone was professional, friendly and easy to work with. Also, all the professionals they worked with showed up on time and did really good work. Finally, and most importantly, the project was completed on time we are really happy with how everything turned out - the house has been transformed and we love it. We wouldn't hesitate to work with Lane and his team again.

We were also highly impressed with the contractors they brought it. Friendly, detailed, high quality. They are great communicators, bringing us along at every steps. In addition, we used Vida Shore for the interior work. She has an amazing knowledge of appliances, wood, lighting, colors, etc. And she and Lane have a fantastic partnership. I used Cooper Design to build my ADU for my N Portland house. They handled the entire process from initial design/architecture thru occupancy permit. They were exemplary!!! Efficient, expedient, stuck to initial quoted cost, showed flexibility when I wanted to make modifications, and great with their communication with me. We had an excellent experience with Cooper Design Builders. From the very beginning of the design process through the completion of our project we received professional communication, expectations, and craftsmanship. Our project was a 6 month long process of restoring/updating a 1907 home. Cooper Design Builders did a great job listening to what we wanted, then turning that into a design plan and finished product. We would definitely work with them again.

Cooper Design was wonderful to work with. There team is top notch. We had never done a project with a contractor before. It was a wonderful experience. We hired them to tear down our 1949 upper main floor of a ranch style to the basement foundation and rebuild it. They did an incredible job. On time, On budget and follow up was excellent with any minor issues. I would highly recomend them.

Lane and the staff at Cooper Design Builders are a top notch quality team. I hired Lane because he was the one who, hands down, came up with the best ideas and design for my 1925 Dutch Colonial expansion. We added another member to our family and all of a sudden our 3 bedroom house needed to be 4. Lane came up with a beautiful yet compact design to add an addition which included a master bedroom, master bath, walk in closet and a powder room. Lane and his project manager Bryce were efficient and respectful of the fact that we were not only working through and around the holidays, but that we had a new baby and a full house to run. The project took just over 4 months from ground breaking to finishing. We met weekly to make sure everything was on track and that I knew what was happening when in addition to keeping an eye on the budget. The craftsmanship is impeccable. The new addition melds into the old house seamlessly and gives us so much more room and functionality. We now have 2 bathrooms on our main floor where there were none! I can't thank Lane enough for the quality work and for my beautiful "new" old house!

We used Lane and team to turn our back yard into an area that is an extension of our living space. Lane hit it out of the park!!! Not only was it on time and on budget but the attention to detail was spot on. We are in the process of using Cooper design again to remodel our entire house.

Our mid century modern home came with a version of jack-and-jill bathrooms that needed to be completely reconfigured into two full baths. The results are truly lovely and very functional. Lane, the architect, and Dave, the construction supervisor, were always accessible and enjoyable to work with. The site was kept clean and progress went smoothly. We recommend them highly.

We hired Cooper Design Builders to completely renovate the main level of our new home. Our house was built in 1952 and was a cottage style layout. With their design expertise, we created a beautiful open floor plan with lofted ceilings and plenty of space for entertaining. We wake up every day saying how much we love our home. Cooper Design was excellent at communicating project details and helping us navigate through a process we were unfamiliar with. They made sure to keep as close to their expected project timeline and made sure every part of the job was done with quality and craftsmanship. It was great working with Cooper Design Builders and we would highly recommend them to anyone.

We had a total house remodel done in 2010 by Cooper Design Builders. It took 7 months. Cooper Design Builders did an outstanding job. They provided us with a complete breakdown of the work to be done, stayed within budget, used as high of quality of materials as we could afford, used wonderful subcontractors who had the same high standards of caring and workmanship. We always felt they had our best interests at heart and we could always get in touch with them if there was a question. We were and are extremely pleased with the job they did and know from experience that they guarantee their projects. We had minor water damage in our kitchen from a manufacturer's defect in an appliance and they not only came right out to fix the floor (which ended up meaning replacing almost 2000 square feet of hardwood floor) but they fought with the insurance company to get it done right. We would use or recommend Cooper Design Builders again in a heart beat.

We cannot speak highly enough of the entire Cooper Design/Build Team. They took our cramped 1,100 sq. ft. house and turned it into a 3,200 gracious, and live able home. The workmanship exceeded our happiest expectations, and the exterior design blended in beautifully with the Alameda neighborhood. During the project, they kept in contact with the surrounding homes and were extremely courteous and responsive to any questions. In addition, the project came in just a bit under budget and exactly on time. My husband and I are completely delighted!
