MA Peterson did a great job at designing and performing the actual work. They made sure everything was of the upmost quality. The Project Manager, Todd, was always in constant correspondence with us and handled all of the details.

We have provided reclaimed wood products for MA Peterson Designbuild for several years, and most recently supplied reclaimed Douglas fir timbers for a project. The entire team are very professional and respectful, wonderful to work with. Their team skillfully manages project timelines and customer expectations. We are happy to continue working with them.

MA Peterson did a large remodel affecting all three levels of our house over 3 months. Aside from adding a bathroom on the 3rd level and updating most of the main level our primary goal was to remodel the basement to have a handicap accessible "apartment" for my elderly father. Their ideas were great and a lot of thought was put into how to keep my father safe based on his needs and still give him his independence. Everything turned out better than we imagined, Wendy, the designer, had great ideas and MA Peterson brought everything to life. Could not have been happier! Strongly recommend!

We wanted to remodel our first floor for a long time. We had some senior living ideas we wanted to incorporate that would allow us to remain in our home for as long as possible. Mark was more than patient with us during the design process! Mark's design ideas were above and beyond what we had hoped for. Everyday we are enjoying the great design and beautiful space. MAP recently constructed two outdoor decks attached to our home - one outside our master bedroom on the second story back of our home and the other a huge deck attached to the rear of our home. Both decks were done with Azek and iron railings. The decks are perfect, they look great and added high value to our home. The construction was done on time and on budget by competent people. MAP does great work, in our opinion.

Their work is superb in quality and construction. They work with you and advise when asked to do so on your specific project. We have used this company twice and recommended them to many who have admired the end result of the work done for us.

MA Peterson just finished a one room and pantry remodel for us, and in my opinion they are the BEST. Twelve years ago the did a seven month very extensive remodel of a kitchen, foyer, entrance and two bathroom, and we are still delighted with the results. Our home has since been featured in Midwest Home and the Star Tribune Sunday home section. They are honest, fair, pleasant, and provide great design and craftsmanship

MA Peterson did an addition on our home 3 years ago and we were delighted with not only the final product and the way they stand behind their work, but with the whole process starting from the very beginning. The whole MA Peterson team is very competent, of course, but also so friendly and fun to work with at all stages of the project. Their decorator made all the choices of hardware, lighting, window coverings, paint colors etc., so easy an fun. Selection options were already thought through so we did not have to drive all over town. We get compliments all the time on our addition and how beautifully it works and fits with the design of the rest of our home. I would recommend MA Peterson, without reservation, to anyone.

We hired MA Peterson to design and remodel our entire lower level which included the kitchen. The project went very smoothly and the was finished on time. The quality of work is excellent and done with care to achieve perfection. The contractors hired by MA were very professional and did their work with great passion. We are enjoying our new home and spend time admiring the work which has enhanced the beauty of the space. Todd was our project manager and was very attentive to all the details. Dan who designed and built the cabinets is very talented and creative. We could not have asked for a better designer - Lori Anderson . She understood our tastes and helped minimize our internet searches ! Dave has excellent business skills and made the project a success. Mark's design ideas are very practical and creative. He was able to design the space to suit our family. I would definitely recommend MA Peterson for a home remodelling project.

We hired MA Peterson Designbuild to renovate our kitchen. They designed a completely new layout and did all the construction. We were impressed by their meticulous attention to detail and quality. The team working on our project was professional, responsive and friendly. The final result is a kitchen that inspires a single word from everyone who sees it -- "Wow!" While they aren't the least expensive company to work with, they are a testament to "you get what you pay for". Attached are before and after photos.

Our finished basement flooded and although that was a pretty crummy deal we are so happy it lead us to MA Peterson! Jesse is such a great General Contractor – he is professional, responsive, and very knowledgeable. He knew exactly what needed to happen, both with restoring our basement and dealing with the paperwork & insurance company. I never felt like we were in the dark on anything and he would get back to us right away when we had questions. The subs MA Peterson used were also very professional and did excellent work. They went out of their way to explain to us what they thought should be done, why it was important and then knocked it out of the park! They were super nice and made sure our curious cat didn’t escape while they were in & out of the house. To me, this is indicative of the type of business MA Peterson is running… Everyone just left us with a great feeling and showed us that they cared about their craft. I feel like MA Peterson goes the extra mile when selecting which subs they’ll work with. We will definitely be using MA Peterson for any future projects and I’d recommend them to any friends or family.

After living in our house for a year, we were overwhelmed trying to prioritize projects that could make our house look and function better. MA Peterson designed a master plan for our house that we could execute at once or in phases. One area of discontent was our basement which was awkwardly pieced together from a prior remodel with very little natural light. It was the one area of the house we felt like we were settling for when we purchased the house and we did not see very much potential to fix the deficiencies. MA Peterson’s vision for our basement was far beyond what we could imagine for the space and exceeded even our wildest dreams. Their team and all of their subcontractors were a pleasure to work with. They made accommodations for our schedule and provided us with access to our laundry room throughout the basement remodel process. They did an excellent job of keeping the space clean and safe for a young child in the house. On many occasions they fixed or addressed things beyond the scope of the remodel. The project was completed on schedule and on budget with quality craftsmanship. We would happily work with MA Peterson again and would recommend them to our friends.

I have had the opportunity to photograph many of MA Peterson's projects and have loved shooting their work! Each project is beautiful and very unique to each homeowner. During some of the shoots I've met the homeowners and every one of them were thrilled with their homes or remodel. The quality of the craftsmanship is top notch which to me shows they truly care about what they do. Ironically many years ago MA Peterson remodeled our kitchen, which we love, so it feels full circle to be able to shoot for them.

We added a den/study over our existing kitchen for my wife to enjoy in her retirement. This required heat and cooling with an added zone for our whole upstairs, new electrical, phone and vacuum extensions. This lead to a new roof over the entire house (difficult to match the existing 20 year old roof), along with upgraded siding for the whole house. He worked carefully with us to make the room addition match the existing house and it looks like it was there from the beginning. The builder was very respectful of our existing home. He worked with us to make the necessary disruptions when it was convenient for us. We met regularly so there were no surprises. His sub-contractors respected our property, using drop cloths to move materials through the house when needed. Last week, (over a year after completion of the project) he did some minor updates and repaired hairline cracks in our new ceiling which included re-taping corners and repainting them at no cost to us. They stand behind their work. I believe very strongly that I got what I paid for when I hired M.A. Peterson to do my work.

This company provided excellent idea generation and craftsmanship. The workers were polite, timely and tidy. They stand behind their work.

MA Peterson rebuilt our garage walls and porch, and renovated our theater room, laundry room and master bathroom/closets. During each project Mark and Dave provided inspiration and guidance. The foremen on each job were professional and responsive. The costs were spelled out in advance and the final results are exceptional. The most recent project was completed in June 2015.

My husband and myself have had four different remodeling projects with M/A Peterson. We could not be happier with the work that they did. Their professionalism and knowledge is absolutely first rate. We also enjoyed everyone on their staff and were extremely pleased with everyone we came in contact with....from interior designers to cabinet makers; paper hanger; painters; project managers; electricians; plumbers;landscape designer; office staff and all suppliers. Once Mark Peterson has done a project for you -you are spoiled for life. When he did his first job for us, a sunroom, he was just a young pup and we were hooked. He has done multiple projects from gates, screen porch, total kitchen laundry redo and more. We moved up north after retirement and asked his advice He put together an up north crew to build a sunroom facing the lake, and totally remodeled the kitchen and bathroom. His work has outstanding attention to detail, his ability to look at a space and visualize is incredible. Work is always top shelf and his support team makes beautiful spaces come alive.

Always professional. High quality work. You might pay more but the work is worth it. In the past we have gone for less expense and we were always sorry. This company does it right the first time. They care that everything is done with excellence. They can be trusted. Their high integrity is refreshing!

They did an excellent job in repairing our family room floor after a water leak. They also added insulation in our attic and updated our kitchen with new appliances, hardware and Cambria center island.

MA Peterson gutted and totally renovated our condo. They replaced everything except the bathtub--newly designed kitchen, two bathrooms, tile, cabinetry, carpeting, flooring, paint, appliances, window treatments, all new lighting. Their designer offered wonderful advice and support. They were great! Everything done well and on schedule. They exceeded our expectations!

I can't say enough good things about MAPeterson. Professional, creative, quality through and through. Our project was a complete basement. They started on time, were very respectful of our home, excellent communication through out all phases of the project and did an amazing job. We get so many compliments on our basement. I know we could have tried to do it ourselves or hire a cheaper firm, in the end I am so glad we invested in MAPeterson.

I am sorry but MA Peterson has changed. I did a large kitchen renovation starting in 2020, just as COVID hit Minnesota. I chalked up the many building issues to stress. Every window was measured incorrectly and needed to be reordered. Two windows needed to be reordered twice. My three month project took over nine months. They laid down a wood floor without leveling it first. I was unable to open the refrigerator without hitting the dishwasher. I needed to hire a consultant to get one of the windows to look like the image they had given me. They messed up the granite center island so I no longer had a matching pattern. They laid off their cabinet maker, so I had to find someone. They did eventually correct most of it… Except they will not correct the electrical issues they created. I cannot make a cup of coffee and toast without popping a circuit. Their “fix” was to rewire so I could make coffee and toast, but not use the microwave. Has anyone seen Green Acres where Lisa can only use two appliances? That comedy sketch is my $100,000+ kitchen. But the electrical issue aren’t just in the appliance garage. On my 12 foot center island, I cannot make waffles and a fruit smoothie at the same time. Breakfast is a challenge! Don’t expect the electrical inspection to save you! This was 2015 review, so much has changed… MA Peterson has done two large -scale renovations on my home. I purchased a fixer-upper 24 years ago - the house was terrible but the lake lot was amazing. So I have renovated every square inch of my home and put on two large additions. MA Peterson is the only builder that I can completely recommend. What I really appreciate about MA is that there bid includes everything. Other builders will nickel and dime you and upcharge you until your final bill is 20-25% above the estimate. An MA Peterson bid includes the highest levels of finishes you can imagine. Mark Peterson has amazing design ideas and took my extremely ugly home and made it beautiful and livable. Their employees are hard working and get the job done right the first time. They did equally well with engineering work (getting rid of posts in the basement) as with finish work. Mark has inspirational design ideas. I wanted an office that was a central " command center" in my home and I wanted to hid my often messy desk. He did it! My walkout basement had low ceiling clearance and Mark found a way to dig down part of the floor and the two level room is beautiful. I have an unusual home; it is three levels- top level is kitchen and living room, middle level is bedrooms and bottom level is a walkout basement onto the lake. Visitors couldn't find their way to the lake from the front door. Mark solved it by creating an opening in the walkout level ceiling so that you can see down to where you are going. Mark's designs are innovative and they solve problems.

The value of MA Peterson's professional services is absolutely greater than the sum of the parts of what they do! From the first meeting to understand our goals and issues of our 1926 house upgrade/remodel the team at MA Peterson impressed us. They listened to what we thought we wanted and asked a ton of questions. They have so much experience and have incredible insights on options and opportunities that went well beyond what we ever imagined. Mark Peterson was involved and we appreciated his creativity and passion--seems natural for the founder. Equally impressive was the values and alignment of the rest of his team. The MA Peterson team delivered beyond our expectations and we have now used them for 3 different projects. If you want great work, that is delivered on time and on budget with super people you can trust, then MA Peterson should be the top of your list to call. We learned about MA Peterson from other happy clients in our neighborhood We loved every project we say. It was natural to include them in our search for design/remodel firm. MA Peterson did a major remodeling job for me, remaking a kitchen/dining room, opening a wall to connect a bedroom converted into a den with the kitchen, and remaking a laundry room all to integrate and flow together. I could not have been happier with my team. They were knowledgable, creative, trustworthy, pleasant, always trying to figure out how to get what you wanted done, problem solving, not problem making. Timetable and budget were met, expectations exceeded. I would hire MA Peterson again without hesitation.

We engaged MA Peterson to refresh three bathrooms, lightly remodel our partially finished basement, replace outdated light fixtures, paint a couple of rooms and our entryway and other similar more minor tasks. Even through the scope of the work was limited, Keith of MA Peterson brought his "A" game to the project every day he or his team were on site. They communicated with us regarding what we should expect and when. There were absolutely no lapses in Keith's willingness to take on additional minor aspects of the process as the project was unfolding in our home. When we ran into an additional plumbing problem, MA Peterson called out its best plumber to fix the defect--for all of $50. The work MA Peterson did was flawless to my eye. In the end, the bill was less than MA Peterson's quote, even though the job included work that was not part of the initial request for the bid. I recommend MA Peterson without qualification or reservation of any kind.

I am extremely pleased with the out come of the job MAPeterson did on our kitchen, powder room, and laundry room. The professionalism shown by the MAPeterson employees and their sub contractors was out standing. I was especially impressed with Keith Jones, the foreman on our project. Keith was always ready to listen to my concerns and took care of them in a timely manner. I would most certainly recommend this firm, and I plan to use them on other projects in the future.

We had our kitchen, bathroom, living room, and dining room remodeled with MA Peterson and have really appreciated how easy and enjoyable the process has been. A lot of the credit goes to Ryan, our project manager who is just awesome. Ryan is detailed oriented, organized, and thorough. Likewise, all of the specialty workers have been wonderful as well. I felt they were expensive up front but have been generous in not nickle and diming us along the way. I really appreciate the job they've done.

Completed TV / Guest Room, custom TV wall, Barn Door, custom bathroom - 9' cabinet / counter, granite, walk in shower, 3 large closets, custom millwork and stain. (Only partial completion of lower level) Excellent top notch craftsmen and carpenters. Very pleasant, conferred with me on any questions. Very good company - very pleased!

They are fantastic to work with at every stage of the process -- from design to completion.
