We hired Josh to replace and paint the soffits of our 1954 house. It was a big job, but Josh was very organized from the get-go, and his work team was superb. Scaffolding, supplies and schedule were all managed skillfully, and the projected timeline was respected. The work was great, and Jesus, the project foreman, had noticed ways in which his team could do some extra cleanup on old paint jobs from the past, and that made everything look perfect. Most of all, we admired the workmanlike attitude of the guys themselves. They were cheerful, respectful, quiet and cleaned up at the end of each day. We couldn’t have asked for more.

JCC renovated and updated our apartment in a 1920s large apartment building (kitchen and bathroom remodel, new electrical, minor structural changes, and a general restorative face-lift, including custom built-ins). This worksite, the structural peculiarities of the building, our many unconventional design ideas and desire to restore rather than gut-renovate (plus a COVID shut-down...) made this a complex renovation that required negotiating many challenges as they arose during the work. We are very glad we had Josh and his team on our side. The work was done to a very high standard, and communications, when aspects of the job had to be rethought, as was inevitably the case, were always prompt and excellent. Transparent weekly billing and the honesty of the team took care of one of our key worries before starting a renovation. We recommend JCC highly, especially if attention to detail and high-quality execution are priorities.

After a series of bad experiences with contractors in the past, we hired Josh and his team to redo our exterior staircase and refurbish all the rusting handrails made from iron. From the first meeting when he came to see the place, to simple things like answering his phone or promptly replying to emails, Josh and his team were extremely professional. He kept us in the loop throughout the process. There were no surprises- he gives you an honest answer for every question. A rare jewel in the world of renovators and general constructors! Josh Collins is a conscientious and knowledgable builder. Josh and his team did two projects for us last summer and fall - renovation of an existing bathroom, and building a new bathroom and laundry room in the basement. The work done was high quality, and everything done by employees and trades people was very professional and performed courteously and respectfully. I was referred to J. Collins construction by a trusted real estate agent and felt Josh would be a good choice for my project. He converted my 100 year old cottage that had previously been a duplex back into a duplex. This involved building a new kitchen, remodeling a second kitchen, building a new bathroom, changing 2 exterior doors and rebuilding a crumbling basement entrance among many other things. He completed this large project in 10 weeks and was always available to resolve issues that arose and help make decisions to get the most value out of dollars spent. They are also easy to work with as sometimes additional trades people or other services needed to be coordinated. I was able to live in my house throughout the entire project and efforts were made to keep the living part reasonably functional. I was so happy with the team and the way they worked that I recommended them to my sister who has already happily completed 2 large projects with J. Collins Construction. Nine months after completion, when I had a question about some water damage I noticed, Josh was responsive and quickly investigated and repaired the problem.
